On one hand, they say Trump is a "dictator." The next day, he is "incompetent" because he resists their pressure to impose martial law. Only in America.

well, people can sit and fight about Donald Trump vs Joe Biden, liberal vs conservative and all that good stuff, all the while Xi and Putin are nearing the takeover of world power , Trump, Biden and those parties won’t matter anymore, carry on

it is very clear that the American people’s priorities are completely fucked right now

Nah. Just because America collapses, that doesn't mean China and Russia take over. They have their own problems. Both countries have close to zero soft power.

Imagine what USA would like if Bloomberg was President. He'd still be arguing against a travel ban with China.

China is closer to collapse than the USA. Only thing holding them together is the real threat of violence.

Joe Biden says he informed Bernie Sanders he will begin the VP vetting process

"I am in the process and I've actually had this discussion with Bernie because he's a friend -- we're competitors, he's a friend," the former vice president told donors during a virtual fundraiser on Friday.

Biden, who currently holds a sizable delegate lead over Sanders in the nomination fight, said he doesn't want the Vermont senator to "think I'm being presumptuous."

"But you have to start now deciding who you're going to have background checks done on as vice presidential candidates and it takes time," he added...........

Biden committed to choosing a woman to be his running mate, and has previously expressed openness to tapping one of his former 2020 rivals, like California Sen. Kamala Harris or Minnesota Sen. Amy Klobuchar. He's also said Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer is on his shortlist, though she's seemingly already taken herself out of the running."

Joe Rogan says he will vote for Trump over Biden.

" And we don’t know what the fuck he’ll be like after a year in office. The pressure of being President of the United States is something than no one has ever prepared for. The only one who seems to be fine with it is Trump, oddly enough. He doesn’t seem to be aging at all or in any sort of decline. Obama, almost immediately, started looking older. George W. [Bush], almost immediately, started looking older." - Rogan.

I noticed vanity card #579 at the end of a big bang theory episode I watched recently...

According to ChuckLorre.com, vanity card #579 aired on January 18th 2018. So, I suppose it wasn't written for, or necessarily meant to be relevant to today's covid19 uncertainty, but I was able to find comfort in a brief historical snapshot of threat preparedness, and the psychological affects/aftermath.

I was curious to see what the previous vanity card was (#578), to wit

upload_2020-4-4_13-58-40.png

I noticed bot vanity card had ended with a political jab (consider the timing posted, after an election, I suppose it's not entirely irrelevant?). I appreciated the historical perception more than the political jabs. As the political jabs seemed to devalue the content, as that lead me to further consider the source.

<rant> I have a problem with feeling manipulated, or influenced. Yet, I watch my fair share amount of American television. And often times, I stop and wonder if my position on certain societal issues, or a perception of such, is biased towards media I've been glued to over the years. Taking me back full circle, to reevaluate my beliefs, and further question my opinion, while considering multiple sources. All of which can be quite exhausting. Especially when turning to television is/was/has been (for me at tines) meant to be a comedic relief. </rant>

Anti-Parasitic Drug Kills Coronavirus Cell Cultures in 48 Hours
A team of Australian researchers at Monash University in Melbourne have found that Ivermectin β€” an FDA-approved anti-parasitic drug that has been used to effectively fight viruses including HIV, Influenza, and Zika β€” was able to stop the SARS-CoV-2 virus from growing in cell cultures.

While promising, the drug has yet to be shown to have the same effect inside the human body, because the Australian research was conducted β€œin vitro,” meaning it was in a Petri dish at a lab. The researchers are still trying to nail down funding for pre-clinical testing and clinical trials, after which they’d have to start the long approval process for the trials themselves.

The results, though, are promising. In just 48 hours, the scientists say, all genetic material of the virus was eradicated.

β€œWe found that even a single dose could essentially remove all viral RNA by 48 hours and that even at 24 hours there was a really significant reduction in it,” Kylie Wagstaff, lead researcher and co-author of the study published today in Antiviral Research, said in a statement.

β€œIvermectin is very widely used and seen as a safe drug,” Wagstaff said. β€œWe need to figure out now whether the dosage you can use it at in humans will be effective β€” that’s the next step.”

β€œAs the virologist who was part of the team who were first to isolate and share SARS-COV2 outside of China in January 2020, I am excited about the prospect of Ivermectin being used as a potential drug against COVID-19,” Leon Caly, senior medical scientist at the Victorian Infectious Diseases Reference Laboratory (VIDRL) at the Doherty Institute, said.

A vaccine for COVID-19 is likely still at least a year out, despite research teams across the world fast tracking work on potential vaccines. But that doesn’t mean we’re doomed.

β€œIn times when we’re having a global pandemic and there isn’t an approved treatment, if we had a compound that was already available around the world then that might help people sooner,” Wagstaff said in the statement. β€œRealistically it’s going to be a while before a vaccine is broadly available.”

China is closer to collapse than the USA. Only thing holding them together is the real threat of violence.

People have been saying that for decades now, but I don't think it's that simple. For one, Chinese have more recent memories of the Cultural Revolution, and are rightfully frightened at the thought of disorder because they know how far it can go. Few Americans share the same feelings.

They are also extremely patriotic, and despite the problems the standard of living has grown immensely in a short time. My personal assistant in China who I paid roughly $100 a month now has far more money than me.

The only places where there is any risk of revolution are in the Western provinces, Muslim areas and Tibet. And they are being ruthlessly crushed. The irony is I think China would be better off if they just let those places go, as they are drains on the economy.

I can see riots in China, and hopefully a coup that puts sensible leaders back in charge instead of idiot megalomaniacs. I can even imagine them losing their Western provinces. If these things happen China will come out stronger.

How you figure?? China has a 4.2 Trillion dollar reserve, the US has 880 billion, the US is printing cash right now because we have assets all over the world, kind of like hawking shit to pay for stuff

However you want to square the circle is fine with me.
Happy to help, btw the only reason he is a (incompetent) wannabe dictator is because he is incompetent.

China is a paper tiger. Their economy was beginning to slow ( rate of growth ) when Pres. Trump put the squeeze on them. They have very little recourse of their own and need to import raw materials.

So yes they have a great manufacturing and tech based economy but cut their recourse and it all goes to shit.

Back to the real world... Every FISA warrant that has been investigated ( 29 of them ) was obtained illegally. IOW, the FBI lied to, mislead or left out information.

FISA court is demanding to know the names of the FBI agents responsible. Why aren't those names on the warrant???

http://ace.mu.nu/archives/386674.php

FISA Court Demands FBI Provide the Names of the FBI Agents Who Repeatedly Abused the System and Perpetrated Frauds Upon the Court
Demands To Know Which FISA Applications Contained "Material Misstatements"

You know what "material mistatements" are, right?

They're the predicate for a criminal prosecution.

The only resource they lack is oil, and how can the US cut that off? They can buy from Russia, Argentina and a number of other sources. It will get even easier for them as the petrodollar collapses. If anything, the USA might be the paper tiger. I wouldn't be surprised if China has the ability to shut down the grid anytime they want. They have spies and hackers all over the place, plenty of Americans ready to sell their country down the drain, and I can't see the American people tolerating the chaos China can sow. Look at how upset people get over toilet paper. Imagine no electricity.

I am not trying to badmouth America, but I really think that most Americans are completely unaware how tenuous the country's position is. (That's JB's cue)
