Don't just submit to Dropcatch

The other day I made a mistake by only submitting to dropcatch. Its not a special .com at all but I said hey, I won't take a chance.

Its a name I can almost guarantee nobody else asked dropcatch to get, meaning, no priority on their end I assume to catch it.

I am obviously upset that they did not get the name, and even more upset that I didn't do what I did years ago and submit it to many catchers.

I have my suspicions, and if I do discover any more info I will share it with you guys.

My advice, don't make the mistake I made. I did come here before I did this and asked advice and felt comfortable given the low end name that dropcatch would be enough.

The "problem" with using "different services" for backorder is that it can get expensive depending on which ones you choose.

not many are like Dropcatch.

Many are pay one time fee and win or lose they keep the money. Dropcatch you can order a backorder or dropcatch and if they get it you pay. If not then you don't pay.

you should go and look for dropcatch services that offer backorders/dropcatch that won't charge you a dime unless they catch the domain.

The other option for Do it yourselgf is Desktopcatcher Google it.

you can either install it on your pc and leave it on. or install on your server so you can go to sleep and let it run while you sleep as it grabs dropped domains.

but do share a list of dropcatch services that won't keep your money if they fail to catch your domain.

believe me. They are few,. too lazy to look for you. Google is your friend.

CheapDomain has backorder for $18 per but they suck. but at least your $18 is turned into credit you can use to for a different domain.

I think Godaddy's is $25.

Epik is $8 I think?
CrazyDomains is $9 but they keep the $9 locked to the domain you want to catch and it's only for 1 year.

Theirs TigerCatch and Hexonet and now there's Catched.com.

Also there's one domain I keep seeing in the DNS of domains that Dropcatch did not catch for me.

Always pay attention to the new registrars of the domains dropcatch did not catch.

Why not try them too? that way you cover your bases?

The one's I see the most is Ztomy.

you did nothing wrong dude

Statistically, DropCatch has the best odds,

Since you pay nothing unless you win, why not order as many backorder services?

Snapnames being #2 (better private auction as opposed to DC public auction if some1 else)

There are some pending delete domains that are not visible on DC / NJ or SN services, but domains are definitely in their last 5 days of lifecycle.. How is this possible? Not all registrars supported or ?

Was trying to catch a couple of domains, but can't locate them on any service, although whois clearly shows their status

I had a domain on dropcatch for a fee if they caught it.

They didn't but I was waiting and looking for the name availability that day as well and I got it myself. Maybe you should have done that too.

The chances of that happening are low, you simply got lucky. My case involves something else as I already pointed out.
