I can see a number of these getting picked up - there a few others I'm surprised they accepted the high reserve and can't see selling because of it. What do you think?

canadian.com forwards to namesbuy.com but it's not listed there.
just saw on the namesbuy fb page they are trying to privately to broker canadian.com. it doesn't seem to be listed anywhere. a private sale will mean a private price.

When .biz first launched Molson went after Canadian.biz and lost.

UMMMMM.... I just checked how many LLL.CAs there were left for handreg and there are none! There were more than 300 available just yesterday (almost positive because i bought one), and now they are all gone. Can anyone else confirm this? I'm having trouble believing it's true. If so, it must be a single person who bought them all.

EDIT: I see 3 as available, but if you search for them you'll see they're taken too.

I remember @DomainRecap saying this happened in the past, and they all come back to TBR/handreg a year later when they don't make any sales and don't feel like paying 4K+ in renewal fees.

Is there a $1 special currently happening somewhere?

I picked up two in the past few weeks, both start with UX (user experience), but I definitely didn't take them all! :xf.grin: I had noticed a couple of others that had been available were gone when I went to register them, but did not realize they all were gone. Thanks for research.

I have a bunch I was considering letting expire very soon... now I'm not so sure. I'll probably end up regretting it if I do renew them all (and let them drop next year).... but i feel like they just got a "little" more valuable considering there are 0 left on the market atm.

I'm glad i got the one i wanted yesterday. I had been eyeing it up for about 3 weeks but i already have enough that i was hesitating.

Anyway, something tells me whoever bought them all expect they will sell like LLL.com's, which is hardly the case. I also recently brought up the fact that there were 300+ left for handreg here on this thread. I wonder if the person read that, found them, and bought them all.

We were close with Adblocker and Plasma as runner ups.

I could be wrong but I have a feeling the #1 pick (FNW) might be a case where a new domainer is trying to acquire all the LLLs they can.... thinking the .COM rules apply in the .CA market (as you previously mentioned). If so, it'll be a hard pill to swallow when they learn there's about 300 other LLLs they could buy as handregs.

Here it is above. From Jan 22, 2020.

that could be the case. there were also a couple of non canadians on this site in the past several weeks inquiring about how to purchase .cas. they may have partnered up with someone and decide to scoop them all up.

Do people think that the couple of high sales in .ca so far in 2020 might have sparked interest in the TLD? The Ticket and Jane sales both got attention outside the traditional .ca community, and both are in top 10 of the .ca sales from the last 5 years on NameBio. Also last year had a couple 2L in the top 10 list.

That crossed my mind. It could also be foreigners somehow buying them up like @cabotower said. Or it could just be a newbie or someone taking a risk/gamble.

My last two .CA sales from this year were sold to companies/people outside of Canada. Not 100% sure what their connection to Canada was and I didn't ask.

Anyway, hopefully this is a good sign for the .CA... and somehow makes our current LLLs (and .CAs in general) more valuable. The Jane.ca and Ticket.ca sales certainly can't hurt.

Perhaps not related but it could be related to a tech-boom happening in Canada. I did come across this a few weeks ago:

"The total number of Canadian Narwhal companies set to become Unicorns has increased dramatically. 42 of our companies are now on track to be $1B companies."

I bought a few LLLs the last time Rebel had their $1 sale (non-limited) but they were the good TBR leftovers with viable letters.

Personally, I have not sold an LLL in a long time and have had zero interest in terms of offers, and I have some that might be viewed as premium, and lots without any low-end letters. The sales charts lean toward single-words so I'm sure why someone would register them all at this point in time.

I sold a 3L .ca a couple months ago for mid $XXX. Abysmal interest otherwise.

Interesting to note the buyout of all 3Ls.

Nice. I have many that I'd be happy to sell in that range.

I did sell an LLL a couple days ago for XXXX actually (and the first number wasn't 1 or 2 ;)).

My first and only LLL sale ever, but I only got into LLLs just over a year ago. It was also via outbound so i'm not sure if it would have sold otherwise. I also haven't received any offers on any of my other LLLs, and i have about 55. I was going to let 20+ drop (non premium letters) but I'm not sure what to do anymore. They are already in their expiry period and I have less than a week to decide.

Anyone else out there have recent success with LLLs?

So i checked out a dozen of those LLLs that were just bought and they are all parked with Epik, with the same price. For example:

Ah, the old "Lottery Ticket" sales method. :dead:

BTW, true to what many expected, the $20 lowballers are hot and heavy on my trail, and I regularly gets multiples a day. I was charging my phone, and just got 3 new ones.

Time to lay the hammer down and watch them run back to the darkness.

canadian
org is an expiring auctin.. i think current owner can still renew it. 4 days into auction max, if its on godaddy.. and basically even right after auction ends, if its regged elsewhere.

do you guys think there could be any potential issues on a name like this? what was it.. france...com i think... that lost the ownerhsip battle not long ago

No, the only potential risk to it would be on CANADA.COM and there is likely no risk at all there, as I don't know any country as idiotic and petty as France who would even attempt such a scam and then get as lucky as to have the registrar immediately transfer it, no questions asked .
