STADIA - New Gaming System!

Spaceship Spaceship
Watch
Apparently there's a new cloud gaming system, Stadia, that is supposed to be releasing that's supposed to be better than Playstation and XBox. Have y'all acquired names?

STADIA will be huge Gaming + Google, but it presents little to none opportunities when it comes to similar domain types with the enabled keyword for most.

This is one of the most misguided forum threads I've seen in domaining 😮. It's just so wrong and stupid in very specific and seemingly obvious ways that even noobs should notice but it still won't die. It's quite depressing to watch, but hey, you guys do your thing man... Less competition with keywords with more sales potential...
There's nothing misguided about this forum thread. It's just another domain niche, just as how there are niches for 4L domains, 4N domains, silver and gold-specific domains, toys, food, vehicles, travel & vacation, and many more. Of course you have your personal opinion and that's fine, but just make sure it doesn't bleed into insults. I haven't seen the word 'noob' since I played Counter Strike on PC back in 2004.

Understand, things change and whether you like it or not is another thing entirely, but it's not about what you solely like and agree with. If it's depressing, there are countless other forum threads to participate in. Usually if I am watching TV, particularly the news, and it's depressing I change the channel. It's the ultimate immediate cure. Truth be told, the few individuals that invested in this niche and many has a wide variety of domains in their portfolio.
Did this Stadia thing fail then?
As far as I know, nothing has failed. You will really see it hit as 5G rolls out this year. 5G is vital for the steamless stream and gameplay. Gamers have been ranting and raving about this technology, along with the new Playstation 5 due to launch soon, but I think Stadia will blow Playstation 5 out of the water.

No one is arguing on whether or not Stadia will be successful. My point went so far over your head it's like we are chatting on a gaming forum (not domaining). You do realize this is a site dedicated for the profession of Domain Investing right? I'm genuinely not trying to insult you... I just honestly think that the Mods should delete this thread because it's misguiding about what domaining is. This thread has absolutely nothing to do with domaining... What you guys are doing is not really domaining.

@Eric Lyon can you comment on this as a mod? In your opinion, is this really a healthy thread to have on this site? I think it's promoting the wrong idea and about what domaining is and incredibly ignorant.

And your OPINION matters; however, opinion is not rule or policy. Users can discuss whatever they wish for specific niches regardless of wherever it goes. One perfect example would be your comments that's not truly about stadia-related domains, but rather your belief of how this thread isn't relevant to domains. If your point went far over my head, try explaining it another way.

This is a brand... Not a niche... It's like starting an Oculus domain showcase instead of VR. This should be a game streaming showcase thread... There will even be other competing services so even in your own logic this is a failed, incredibly sad and misguided domain strategy that miseducates in more ways than I have time to mention. You are failing HARD as a domainer if you think this is a good idea. @Eric Lyon I think this thread is misleading, misrepresenting of the domain investing industry and I would not be surprised if it violates Name Pro's TOS....

You're thinking too much into this. For one, 'stadia' is a legitimate word (plural for stadium), it's also a unit a measurement. Second, if you want to be technical, I suppose you can go to other threads and troll domainers registering bitcoin, litecoin, ethereum, gold, 5G, VR, XR, and more. They're all trademark. Third, I am not sure what your issue is looking for confirmation from Eric; however, the beauty of this domain forum is to openly and freely discuss anything reasonable. If you feel it violates a policy, identify, post, and report it. You seem adamant and hellbent on looking for a namePros forum infraction.

If it were as serious as you're taking it, I am sure a multi billion dollar company can just as easily register what they need for their brand. Things are changing. Large-scale organizations want people openly talking about, and discussing their brand, offer services, etc; otherwise, they wouldn't offer affiliate and dropship programs. There are fans, users want to set up tutorials, discussion and blogs, ideas, extensions and countless more uses. You're taking this into another dark, deep, and twisted imagination.

Many years back, I used to play Counter Strike, and there were 'counter strike' domains offering dedicated gaming server services, maps & skins, custom map and mod designs, and more. Steam and Valve did not go after these companies offering services for their game or complain about domains. Perhaps you should reach out to the owners of stadiaconnect.com to tell them what a bad idea it is for them to have their domain and website. There are already many new stadia websites popping up. Of course, the most notable ones are stadiatalk.com, stadiatalks.com, sharestadia.com, and many more. Stadia.com was somewhat recently acquired, and not for very much.

I do appreciate your gross obsession with this thread. This is all very useful, valuable, and interesting content for namePros. I sold a few stadia domains. Does that burn you inside? lol.

Thanks for sharing a nice post

You're welcome. Even though I spent 10+ years working for a major video game company, the term Stadia will always register as shoes first in my mind before it does as a gaming platform. :xf.laugh:

Eric can easily be reached by direct message. This thread is about Stadia, not Eric's status lol.
