I always find January to be a great month for domain name sales as many (wannabe) entrepreneurs have come up with new businesses ideas, projects, products or services over the holiday period which results in increased traffic and interest in good domain names.

I thought it would be fun to share which domains of yours were the first ones to receive some love in this new decade. Feel free to share any details such as the offer, country of the interested party or if the inquiry has led to a sale.

I'll start:

All received on January 2nd.

Brisk/io - price request
BadMonkey/com - price request
MoralSupport/com - price request

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
I also got a $600 offer via DAN for HempXR.com. I countered.

Received a 5k offer through Efty from a retail company in the Middle-East I happened to have a great match for. Countered with 9k, agreed on 6k. They said they were motivated by the new year. Expecting payment soon. It's been my best 30 days in my domaining history. This will be my third such sale.

I receive price requests everyday and my minimum offer is usually 250, still with almost 99 percent change they don't lead to a sale, or even real offer. Received 100 USD offer from myself while testing something, and that is all.

I hope to see the sale reported soon on the thread 😁

@YairDD Sure. We've been through a lot of back and forth. Don't expect this one to fall through and I don't like to count my chickens before they hatch, but this is the offer thread!

Per Dan.com policy, if a buyer fails to pay, I receive the domain back, as they hold it until the buyer finishes paying for the installments.

Received 750 offer for an .energy and accepted, although I'm 99 percent sure, they would pay 200-300 more. Other .energy domains were receiving like 20, 30,..so that offer deserved to be accepted. I could wait and sell for 5k eventually, but waiting is not fun.
(typo above:change ->chance).

I just got a great offer of $70 on one of my .com s from someone based in nigeria.
I checked out his website and it looks like a multi million dollar software company, wow such a success. All the achievements and accolades left me in awe.

Strange they could only afford to make a $70 offer :xf.wink:

myyo(.)com - price request via GoDaddy broker
keeta(.)com - via Uniregistry
polca(.)com - via Uniregistry
NIHL(.)com - via Uniregistry
xtock(.)com - via Uniregistry

You have a broker at GoDaddy working for you? I thought they only supplied brokers for high priced domains. What is your asking price for m y y o?

Side note, I once sold a .co domain via a GoDaddy broker for $200.

2 January I got a direct inquiry via Whois on a Bitcoin name for $3000 which is listed with $9000 BIN at Afternic and I gave a $7000 counter offer but haven't heard from the bidder since

That's great! So, do you forgo the privacy on Whois? And allow your details to be shown?
I used to get direct offers through Whois lookup before there was the option for domain privacy. Now all of my domains are automatically private throygh my registrar, but I have most listed somewhere or other, yet my offers are noticeaby much less....

I have been considering removing the privacy option from my name's, but then along with direct Whois offers comes all of the spam emails and spam phone calls.

Totally wrestling with what to do. So, to sum up, are all your domains without privacy on Whois?

Cheers!

Interesting. Who was your broker?

I just wonder if you're confusing having a broker work for you with listing and selling on the GoDaddy site? (2 different things)

Regardless.... good job!
