Hello.

Earlier had an appreciated thread about my first month in domaining in the beginner section.

https://www.namepros.com/threads/fi...-7-sales-sh-t-handregs-website-built.1147977/

But since I can't edit that post for some reason I might as well create a new one and update here.
I can today share the news that I brokered a six figure sale.

From day one I have wanted to share my journey in domaining. And I have in the Telegram Group "Domain Talk" shared alot of failed negotiations and stupid stuff I've done. But also some sales and overall impressions of the domaining industry. And now six months have gone by since I first started. And today I closed my first six figure deal. Its been under negotiation for three months. It's been a fun and nerve-wrecking negotiation. But today @Rob Monster contacted me and say the escrow is closed. Big ups to EPIK for making sure the transaction went smooth.
It's under NDA so can't share more details.
But if I can do this, anyone can, no matter what more experienced domainers say. You have to find your own beat. And fail all over again. There's been blogposts written about me where I have gotten pretty much slack and being called a troll by anonomous...trolls. As expected 😀.

However. Here is my highligts so far in domaining six months deep into the game.

• Brokered a Six figure sale via EPIK
• Sold 20-ish domains with Blockchain.za.com being the highest for $1200.
• Sold Betting.cx and Gambling.cx via Sedo iGaming auction.
• Have two $800 sales (DigitalChoo.com and another NDA-one).
• Being interviewed in Morgan Lintons blog (where I earlier had been hammered in the comments of a blogpost).
• Getting the chance to broker FinanceME.com and Finance.me. Interest has been HIGH for those ones.

Please all my newbie homies, share your positive stories also, as I get pumped by reading good stuff from people in the same boat as me.

Thanks for reading (mods, move this to the right area if this is the wrong one).

Best Regards

/Dose

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
Really? You are trying to compare a light hearted case study on a name that did not sell to this thread? Not going to work.....

If that name had sold I would posted all the details, like I have always done......

The name in question was assembelrr . (com) - Happy?

I am actually comparing it. I see this as a venue for venting success and failures. Not all about hard numbers. In my opinion.
I wanted to share and did so. Im sorry I couldn't navigate through your hard set of rules what is okey to post about and what is not. It's a maze to be honest to which standards people should live up too according to you.

You can do what you want, as can I.......to a certain extent anyway

There is nothing wrong with questioning someone, or having an opinion as no one can be agreement all the time....

As I said i disagree with this, but it is not personal.....

I am not and will never be a yes man
So am I and when a big majority posts critics or skepticism I do not have to join them to be on the stronger side of a discussion.

but this thread is just noise in the wind
So why do you continue to post then? Let us leave this thread and go on. But I foresee others will pick up some of your keywords and try to construct something, again.

In another thread I read that talking about money is not British. I liked that. The given difference of global cultures can have creative results when they are clashing by discussion.

I am checking out now from this reality soap.

Pretty sure I said something along the lines that the monetary amount is immaterial/insignificant (or something similar)....

My last post was closure as I saw it.......I agreed to disagree with the OP.....

Will not be posting in here again - thought I was done already......

Fair point. I think Dose just got excited. The guy definitely hustles and is learning fast.

It was a 2-word brandable domain sold at a shoot-the-moon price to a non-Chinese Asian buyer. I think there is value in knowing that much.

Surely, the community can find a bit of joy in celebrating a newbie getting his first 6 figure deal as a broker. With encourage, he might teach some folks about his prospecting methods.

I think you are not doing the community a favor
in repeating your shoot-to-te-moon mantra over and over

basically you just want to promote your shoot-to-the moon thread
where you promote epik / com

be alert, guys
a great domain can be shot to the moon
an average domain can't

life is more complex as some people want you to think

Ok but which big difference does it make to know the brokered name? It may matter for stats gurus and deeper insights. To me there is no big additional value. Every sale is a single case and another member might have sold this domain for 688 bucks on Sedo, never being reported.

Congrats on the sale.

However, I think these type of posts are largely pointless - some great sale, subject to NDA, with no real details.

Brad

congrats to @Dosebuy

so you can't reveal the name
ok

but you can reveal the process of how you brokered it successfully
how you got the job

and how come you found a buyer the org ower wasn't able to find

so we can learn

right now we can only congrat you @Dosebuy
but we can't learn anything
-except were stupid not to do what you did-

Hey.
I have earlier in the thread answer some questions. And I don't want to disclose more details. But I can answer some of your questions.

How I got the job?

Darryl Lopez started a Telegram Group where people have come and went. I have been part of the group for a year and try to have as much fun as I can while learning. I have shared probably 50 of failed negotations since I started there. I seem to pretty easy get a discussion initiated with a potential buyer (mostly on Linked in as I told earlier). My problem is I haven't been able to close. That's the next step.

But while doing this and being open about my failures some people have recognised I maybe can do better with better names. So one experienced domainer a couple of months ago approached me and said he wanted to give me a shot. He had some businesses in mind. I started to reach out on different platforms and got successful on one of them.
The process was pretty straight forward. And slow, I think, don't have much to compare with.
The buyer was super polite in the how they handled themselves and we ended up meeting half-way. From day one it felt good and the deal was never really close to break down. At least I don't think so.

So I I can share something that some people maybe can take with them:
Have fun, share your experiences, get involved in a community and work hard with what you got. Eventually someone will recognise you and give you a chance.

I don't really like the way some people in this thread likes to sit themselves on high horses and tell me what is OK and what is not. And demand that I share stuff when I clearly have stated I share as much as I'm comfortable with.

I'm a sucker for good stories that gives me hope. So that was my intent.

Peace

thank you @Dosebuy for taking the time to answer

would you mind sharing
how you met half way

so you asked for twice the amount initially?

how did negotiation go?

what was your tactic?

Baby steps from both parties.

Nope.

how did negotiation go?

It ended in a sale.

what was your tactic?

Making sure communication was short, polite and to the point. And never risk a breakdown of communication.

Answers in the quote.

It may be time to close the thread @Dosebuy as the interactions of some domainers posting here is causing their 'Freudian slips' to show.

Again, great job and thanks for the added details.

Haha, yeah. Somehow I have lost the ability to lock threads and even edit them. So I let it sit here and watch it self-die :)

Congrats @Dosebuy

A really impressive start to your domaining career and thanks for sharing your domaining journey and the insights related to this transaction.(y)

What parts of negotiation you found toughest?

The silence. There was stretches where it was radio silence in a crucial part of the negotations. I have learned to stay cool with this sale. And hopefully that will help moving forward with my own names.

So since you were a broker what was your take on the deal?

so no answer that is educating

just: made a sale

Not for you maybe. But everybody is not on your superior level.
My sole purpose is not to please people as accomplished as you. I have done the best I could under the limitations I have. Sorry you didnt like the thread.

Whether you like @Dosebuy or not, you can't take his authenticity from him.
Guy is true to himself and not letting anything or anyone change who he is or the way he acts.
Me and Nietzsche are applauding him for that :)
As much as it's hard for my type of character 😂

Yes. Dose deserves props for being authentic and for surrounding himself with loyal advocates. For those who engage him on Telegram or elsewhere, his enthusiasm is hard to ignore.

Specific to this transaction topic, anyone who does use Epik for escrow can count on us to attest to the validity of their transaction, with or without without full disclosure.

The broker proceeds were split out from the sale proceeds.I know many escrow transactions where brokers get screwed on fees. We are able to protect the brokers in such cases. That can be quite helpful.

Also, this buyer paid via USD wire, but some proceeds are distributed in crypto. If we have crypto on hand, we don't charge a fee to convert to crypto. If we don't have enough crypto on hand, there are options.

As for the haters in the thread who took issue with celebratory comments fro Dose, I can only offer encouragement and hope that you also get a 6 figure sale soon and that you use proceeds for good!
