Hi everyone!

With the new year approaching, I am thinking of changing my sales strategy. I’ve done well with BrandBucket,SquadHelp and Brandpa this year and I am curious to see where most of us got the most sales. I am getting sick of the 25,30,35 percent commission fees.

Thanks!

What improvements were made via dynamo? I just saw a lot of features like bulk edits pulled back?

Here is a link to Uniregistry’s description about the upgrade:

https://uniregistry.com/blog/post/the-new-uni-market-whats-new-whats-next

The whole navigation and architecture is greatly improved…

My favorite new feature is the way you can now add domains to the market (that are regged at Uni) while instantly changing the nameservers.

When you go to add a new bunch of domains, there is a pre-checked checkbox that looks something like this:

[x] Change to Uni nameservers

So it is now lightning fast to add bulk domains (and prices) and have the nameservers changed automatically.

(By default, domains are then set to “make offer” but you can simply go into your market listings to edit them - mine are all “buy now” plus “submit enquiry”.)

Another of the too many to describe innovations is in regard to the columns in your market manager. Previously there were too many (I think you could edit them, but who has time for that?). Now, there are two master buttons “Sales” and “Brokerage” - each one controls which relevant columns display. Two view options with fewer columns. A clever solution.

I’m sure there are 48 more features, it seems like it!

While I was finding that article, I found another one called “Bulk Edit Domain Settings - Paste a List.” I have not tried this, but apparently you can paste in a long list of domains you want to bulk edit into a field. Then it says:

>”Check the check boxes beside each field you wish to update (input a price, select an option from the drop-down menu, or enable/disable a slider). Once you have completed your changes, click the green "Review" button.”

https://www.uniregistry.help/hc/en-us/articles/360038308213-Bulk-Edit-Domain-Settings-Paste-a-List

I hope that’s relevant to where you say:

I sold more names at namejet, but I am surprised there is no namejet here on your list. I also sold at Dan and via inbound

One Afternic, one SH, the rest are DAN.

Well, if not to count small sales on NP and Namejet.

Given that Sedo and Afternic have similar numbers of domains under listing, somewhat surprising that there is such a difference in the poll results. I wonder if that is because NamePros members are more likely to list their domains at Afternic, or if the rates really are that different.

I am a little surprised not more votes for Own Landers, as certainly a number go that route.

Not surprising at all! Afternic listed names show when people show for available domains on GD and partnering registrars. The name shows as available at premium pricing. Sedo has MLS, but because it can't really compete with Afternic, people mostly just list there without MLS, so Sedo generates close to zero sales unless you actually use their landing pages. With the advent of other better landing pages, like DAN, Sedo is losing this too.

Afternic's power is that it doesn't need landers to generate the sales, to it is a great resource even as secondary, but it is amazing that it is also leading as primary.

Afternic + DAN + NP seem to provide almost 60% of the 1st place votes, while all the rest get around 40%... I could have predicted it even before the poll )

If you sell more domains anywhere than Afternic, you are doing something wrong!

Dan didn't work for me, but it looks like this happens because I don't park there. Worth trying sometime.

DAN and ToughDomains.com

For my domains that don't have nameservers pointed at either of those places, my own landers usually have links that do.

Only 2 votes for Uniregsitry. That's surprising. D-:

I sold most of my domains on afternic. I tried out other platforms as well, and for some reason afternic works always better for me even before it was acquired by GoDaddy.

Because it requires skills and efforts...
Most domainers prefer a few clicks.

Because SedoMLS is almost useless due to lack of GoDaddy.

Good points. I guess I had assumed that the two big MLS networks were more equal, but you seem to feel (and the votes seem to support) that is not true. EDIT: @Jurgen Wolf just above brought up the excellent point that GD not being in Sedo is a huge difference. So obvious but I had not thought about that.

I would add that there is a major difference between the two networks if you are selling names other than com/org/net/co/info (de?) that Afternic does not accept them as fast transfer so the premium network at Afternic is not evoked. However, Sedo, if you have a fast transfer registrar, will still do their fast transfer and premium coverage for other extensions like .me or new extensions.

I wonder if in some more months Dofo will become an end user place to look for domains, and since it searches for almost all of the sites, it will no longer matter as much where they are listed.

Thanks for the explanation.

"Premium" label has nothing to do with coverage...
Premium partners support the domain transfer via API in automode. And this is the only one difference.

But if premium in Sedo does it not mean that they can be instantly bought across a number of registrar partners, which would not be the case if that was not done?

as described here:
https://sedo-us1.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/3230/~/why-and-how-should-i-activate-sedomls-premium?

"Domains are visible within millions of additional searches across the SedoMLS Network"

Premium partners can also charge the buyer using their own processor...
Basic partners just redirect the buyers to Sedo... and they pay on Sedo...

MLS in terms of coverage is activated on Sedo by default for all BIN domains...
Some registrars also participate in MakeOffer domains...

When you activate MLS with Premium partner - it just means: you agree that your domain will be silently autotransferred in case of sale. And that's all.

Some TLDs are not supported by SedoMLS at all...

All my domains are registered with godaddy. I just recently started exploring other platforms. I expect to sell more domains on my own platform this coming year. :xf.smile:
