Sateris only has value to those with the name Sateris and doing a quick Google search, there aren’t many of them.

To a Sateris family member you could likely squeeze low $xxx.

Sateris could be brandable, but in that case an end user is paying high $xx.

It's got about a 0.5% chance of selling in any given year. That would go up to 1% if you could get it listed on Brandbucket or a similar marketplace.

The chances of it selling is what hurts it the most... not the price of valuation.

I don't think your chances go up or down significantly between the $750 and $1,200 price point... so you might at well price it at $1,200... these figures double if you get it onto brandbucket.

Good luck :)

What makes you think BB is solution to anything? My afternic sell-through is similar to my BB sell through for 2019 and they charge just 20%. And my average prices at AN are higher too.

Many thanks to both of you! I have not had much success with Afternic or SEDO. Perhaps I will give Brand Bucket a shot. BrandPa stated that they were not accepting new names in an email. There are a couple more that I can look into. If you have anymore recommendations, please let me know. The domains that I have were registered in most cases because I had an idea for their development. However, I have been too busy with other projects and have not been able to get to those projects. I'm certainly not desperate to sell this name or any other but I have some good names that could be used by Entrepreneurs looking for ideas that have the time and resources.

Just my own personal opinion that for domains they accept, their email goes out to a very large amount of domainers, brokers, past buyers, etc. and they are the most well known brandables marketplace... their average turnover is around 4% if I recall correctly, with 95% of domains selling for the listed price.

The domains are more discoverable because they use categories and keywords which allows searchers to find your domain even if they've not thought of your keyword.

That's my thinking anyhow :)

1. You info is outdated by few years. They had 4% when they were 20K names. Now they sell almost the same number of names, but inventory has tripled. Their sell through is under or around 2% now. And that is for the whole marketplace. It is not a secret, that some, including the owner, get preferential treatment for their names, so if you are not an insider, your chances of sell are around 1% or similar to Afternic rate.

2. A name is included into the list only once and it is not like huge booster either on a per name basis, given that probably only 1-2% of people open the email and maybe 1 in 100 or 1000 might buy something.

3. I have 357 names with BB, my sell through is now at 0.8%. Adjusted for higher commission (around 35%), that is equivalent of 0.6% at Afternic. My Afternic sell through for the year is around 1%.

I agree with you. In my opinion these market places are just waste of time. Afternic, Godaddy, and SEDO are performing much better. DAN is good for domains listed with BIN that are less than $500.

I am going to pull out my 3000+ domains from these marketplaces. Just need time to list domains on other places.

Just my opinion guys. Don't take it to your heart, nothing personal here.

Thanks

Wow! When you built that many? )

I also have around 200 with BP, last year they were great, this year they are also underperforming with 1-2% range and nothing since July.

I have around 60 with SH, nothing sold, so I stopped adding. Interestingly, out of 40 approved by SH but not added, 4 sold via Afternic. And that was another reason I stopped adding their. Pulled one name out of SH portfolio and sold via Linkedin for $6.3K net.

It seems the era of those marketplaces is nearing the end. They are stepping on each others toes, sell lots of ugly names, "reinventing" what good brand is and eventually disappoint their customers stuck with ugly names to do business with.

Just unbelievable that people continue adding their names there.

I am like you. Planning to pull them, but have enough other inventory to take care of. For example, most my 3.8K names are listed at Afternic, but around 600 still have to be added to Fast transfer. I also might need to add as make offer to Sedo. Plus, need to finish my own marketplace.

That is the only way to build sustainable business in this industry.

You are welcome. The only working formula is AN + other marketplaces that don't require forwarding and exclusivity + good landers (own, dan, uniregistry, efty etc.).

I just checked, BB now has 83K+ names after adding BR inventory and growing more, while their sales are stagnant. And they cannot even figure out how to solve the ssl issue. Can you imagine someone paying xxxx for a name, when on top it says "not secure"?
