I think Epik is building the best ever Domain Lander in the history of domaining, and it really needs to be talked about extensively. That's why I am creating this discussion thread. A lot of thought process really goes into the project. And I can see (for the first time) a landing page that is built from the stand point of domainers rather than for just the marketplace itself.

Everything you have ever dreamt of getting or seeing in a professional landing page can be found in the new Epik marketplace landing page design.

Some of my Favorites Features:

1. The ability to optimize your "domain for sale" landing page to actually rank on Google, displaying your sales pitch/domain description. I just did that with few of my generic domain names such as ASAP.TV, targeting certain keywords, and they are showing pretty well on Google. That's a huge plus in my marketing effort.

2. Being able to change background image is another huge one for me. If you are good with pictures and images, you will surely find this very useful. I did that with Nagasaki.org and the result was truly amazing, showing the city of Nagasaki right at the background.

There are too many positive features and I don't want to mention all of them, all alone :xf.grin::xf.grin:

So I am leaving you guys to share and discuss what you loves most or dislike about the new Epik marketplace and the landing pages.

The only negative for me is the checkout process. There are too many terms and conditions buttons to tick before checking out. It will be nice if they can streamline those into one beautiful big button :xf.cool:

They also need to place the checkout button directly under the payment options. Right now it is awkwardly place somewhere below at the sidebar, which I don't find cool at all.

Sales experience is also welcomed in this discussion. I haven't had any sells so far at Epik because I started using the marketplace just recently, but the future is looking so bright.

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
I am wondering does Epik offer .co.uk./.uk, and, if so, is it done through direct Nominet accreditation or by reselling somebody?

who has sold names using epic and what payment gateway did the buyer use?

The payment gateway is fully integrated. We support:

- Visa, MC, Amex, Discover
- UnionPay (China #1 card)
- Paypal
- Bitcoin
- Coinbase / Other Crypto
- eCheck / ACH
- Wire transfer

We have not done a Transferwise integration yet, but it is coming.

For a full picture of Masterbucks 2.0 payment platform, I did give a big hint here:

Epik has a ratio of about 50% for me...meaning about half of the inquiries end up selling (highest ratio of all aftermarkets I am using fully). As far as how they made payment, I have no clue...I just wait for the funds to show up then I am on a buying spree!

Another topic: Did anybody else determine delays with transfers from Godaddy to Epik? Usually you start transfer with Epik, accept it in your Godaddy account und then within minutes the domains have been moved. Sometimes Godaddy holds back one or two domains for a few days just to send another E-Mail wanting the transfer to be confirmed once more. Security.

For the first time I am sitting on dozens of domains ordered with Epik days ago and accepted for transfer several times in my Godaddy account. And nothing happens.

I strongly assume this to be another Godaddy bug or a change in their customer care or IT security policy. However, I want to ensure that this is no general ICANN or Epik related issue.

Anybody else experiencing the same?

Yup.

they said they do this for “high value” domains, so they made BS process, even more BS.

they only did this, with 1 domain 4 me however

I beg them to please fix the push process too..

Godaddy is the worst

Yes, Godaddy transfer verification is no longer sending out emails asking, they are just waiting out 5 days.

I am accepting my (!) transfers like insane, Mr. Ford sen. would hire me for sure, but nothing tells me "Hey calm down, divorce takes five days now."

How do you know? Asking your Rep or studying their rules?

By actual use, what was then, and what is now.

Reps are pretty good, if you have any questions just shoot an email off to them.

What does not make sense at all is that the removal from the Afternic network works like then, immediately. Without Nameserver or provider change!

I'm excited about the growth & ideas at Epik. How is it possible that payment plans (Lease-to-Buy / Rental Plans) have not been easily available everywhere? Sure payment plans combine software, payment systems, legal templates, etc., but the pioneering work done by Rob Monster and team is extraordinary. With lease-to-buy, smaller businesses can gain access to high-value domains. Surely it becomes easier to monetize / sell domains. Epik has opened a new & hugely exciting era of opportunity for small-scale domainers and IP brokers.

I've advocated at Epik for wider implementation of IDN in page layouts. Most exists already. Though domain header does not display, it's easy at Epik to use non-English characters in subheadings and explanations, and the IDN domain displays properly in the URL. For those unfamiliar, IDN involves non-English characters which also can render as punycode. For example, Swedish "two" is två and also punycode xn--tv-zia or the French for "high school" is lycée or xn--lyce-dpa or Hindi "OM" is ॐ or xn--q3b Full explanation at https://blog.dofo.com/internationalized-domain-names/

So I await the Epik possibility to load domains such as ॐ.com or 子.com ("child" in Japanese) or ✂.com

Please remove this if it isn't allowed. It was meant as a joke.

Just want to wish everyone a very Happy Thanksgiving and an auspicious start to the Holiday season.

In the spirit of transparency, sharing a Skype post from this morning with our @epik Client Services team here:

These folks are unsung heroes, never losing sight of our humble roots as just another registrar that will never stop treating every customer as an individual, not a number. Your success is our success.

So, thank you for co-creating with us, and for indulging all our crazy ideas with occasional brutal feedback so that we can quickly separate the wheat from the chaff. Much obliged!

I would definitely listen to the person who writes less than 2 posts per year. Besides, (s)he has awesome ava.

While maybe not very popular, IDN support shouldn't be too hard to implement (basically, its for the frontend only, and there is MIT-licensed punycode.js).

Proper IDN Support is coming. You can buy IDNs on Epik no problem. @vitigo is fast-tracking the IDN support on the landers. We are seeing a big uptick in IDN demand in .COM. No doubt that is happening.

Yes - there is now progress on Epik's IDN display - see https://vérité.com
Knowing this is / can be squared-away is refreshing!
Happy December.
Many thanks to Rob, @vitigo and team.

Hello, can you please let me know if there is a minimum commission-fee at Epik Marketplace. And, what's the lowest possible selling price of a domain? Thanks. @Jess Robison

There is no minimum price AFAIK. I was able to set a domain to $0.10 so basically no lower limit. Commission is 9% but no minimum fee.

Thanks Rob, that's great.

So, even before @DanSanchez's liquidation platform project, which I think is exciting, it's possible to list expiring inventory for very low prices and sell some of them without the hassle of manual payments and transfers (for the domains registered at Epik).

To me, one another thing that is def missed at Epik is email warnings that are sent out on every new login attempt (with IP/date info)

..simple yet effective security measure that is implemented at Namesilo, Name.com, Porkbun etc. years ago.

Yes, I admit I may be paranoic but I want to be notified about each & every login (successful or not) into my account as soon as it's done

And nowadays when everyone is on Telegram, Whatsapp etc you may also want to consider offering users an option to message them directly about logins and other critical account actions/updates via popular messengers.

I can already see Godaddy does this:

What purpose of 3rd-party MX record (mail.b-io.co) when using your landers?
+ there is also additional TXT record with its ID/signature.

Hidden email monetization?
I don't need it.

These are in the process of being removed
You already can bulk remove them if you wish
