The To Be Released (TBR) .CA Results & Leftovers for November 6 have been posted:

After seven straight weeks of increases in the TBR list, we finally had a bit of downturn this week, falling from over 9K or to just over 8K, and with a commensurate drop in overall domain quality. Strangely, the TBR results rose to 107 selections from the 104 and 101 picks from the last 2 weeks, while some of the notable Top 10 picks included...

PAW.ca has sold for 18K. It was bought by PAW.com. Solid sale.

Anybody know if Godaddy provides discounts for renewals or transfers on Black Friday and/or Cyber Monday? If so, do the discounts apply to .CAs, and to Discount Domain Members? I'm having trouble finding info about what was offered last year.

It's pretty wild that TBR.ca is being released this week, especially as a Registar owned it for years and years, and kept saying they were going to launch a TBR .CA service through it...

I can see not following through, but to drop a valuable 3-letter domain entirely?

It's a mistake, I know who you are talking about.... I dom't think the drop is intentional.

That said, it is not worth a lot, maybe to a small group of insiders but no money to be made simply displaying tbr lists.

Cira should own that one so tbr takes you right to the list. Would be hard to monetize it though to cheap skate domainers like us. :xf.laugh:

Its primary value would be for other Registars, so it'll be interesting to see how and where it ends up (cough MyID cough).

Again, with only domainers looking at it the target audience is very small. The public does not look at that list and there will be no reason to develop the domain for public use. For a registrar focused on domainers yes but it is targeted to .ca so the domaining market there is very small.

How would you make money on the site?
Ads? Nope... not with blockers

Selling domains from TBR? Nope, not with myId scooping them up.

So unless myid grabs it (as per your suggestion) I doubt anyone can monetize it in any meaningful way. And by meaningful I mean.... make money.

I fully expect one of the big guys (MyID or Siber) to grab it.

We have released the To Be Released (TBR) Weekly .CA Picks for November 13:

The .CA TBR numbers fell back slightly this week, but the quality level remained the same, and is average at best. There were a few nice 3-letter domains and a at least one premium single-word and multi-word, but it’s still not a bumper crop. Our Top Picks List includes...

Nutjob/ca another potential political page/redirect...

I like popular two-word terms like that (GoodFellas was a nice example from the past) along with HardBoiled this week, and they seem to be hot in the TBR.

It looks like both TEMPO.CA and TBR.CA are way out of control this week, and I might be out of the bidding the first second in. :xf.grin:

Managed to pick up two things today... Jack and sh*t.

ouch:) sounds like a tough day at the office:)
I am still in for one, hoping for no second stage auction.

I'm seeing some of my drops making into the top picks. Probably too many of us domainers recycling names. I would be happy to see some of those actually in use.

@MapleDots what sort of your .CA domain names get decent traffic?

You do not have to share the names, but type of names should work for me to get an idea.

Thanks

One word .ca's get the most type in traffic. I have a few that get really good traffic and I never promote them.

I will share that pink gets consistently the most traffic from all my domains.

Sorry for being a botheration, but when you say one word, are these the product names or normal one keywords like look/feel/hello/alert type of random keywords?

I will share that pink gets consistently the most traffic from all my domains.

pink? you mean the pink(dotca) here?
