I think Epik is building the best ever Domain Lander in the history of domaining, and it really needs to be talked about extensively. That's why I am creating this discussion thread. A lot of thought process really goes into the project. And I can see (for the first time) a landing page that is built from the stand point of domainers rather than for just the marketplace itself.

Everything you have ever dreamt of getting or seeing in a professional landing page can be found in the new Epik marketplace landing page design.

Some of my Favorites Features:

1. The ability to optimize your "domain for sale" landing page to actually rank on Google, displaying your sales pitch/domain description. I just did that with few of my generic domain names such as ASAP.TV, targeting certain keywords, and they are showing pretty well on Google. That's a huge plus in my marketing effort.

2. Being able to change background image is another huge one for me. If you are good with pictures and images, you will surely find this very useful. I did that with Nagasaki.org and the result was truly amazing, showing the city of Nagasaki right at the background.

There are too many positive features and I don't want to mention all of them, all alone :xf.grin::xf.grin:

So I am leaving you guys to share and discuss what you loves most or dislike about the new Epik marketplace and the landing pages.

The only negative for me is the checkout process. There are too many terms and conditions buttons to tick before checking out. It will be nice if they can streamline those into one beautiful big button :xf.cool:

They also need to place the checkout button directly under the payment options. Right now it is awkwardly place somewhere below at the sidebar, which I don't find cool at all.

Sales experience is also welcomed in this discussion. I haven't had any sells so far at Epik because I started using the marketplace just recently, but the future is looking so bright.

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
I have most of my portfolio at Epik because:

** Prices are consistently industry's lowest (for .com at least)
** Superior support (as advertised)
** Landing pages are second to none
** Ability to check domains' performance and portfolio value
** Offers option to set "continue shopping" versus always going to the cart after adding a domain
** Bitcoin accepted
** Quick and easy pushes to other Epik accounts
** Free domain appraiser tool
** Nice marketplace
** Always striving to improve on things that are already great
** Approachable and accessible Founder/CEO

All good now -- brief EPP issue with .ORG. Sorry for the delay. All queued orders processed.

Thanks for the quick response. As mentioned, I was having grumpy issues as well.

The tech you chatted with is Anand. He is a capable guy and not outsourced. That said, he did need to escalate to engineering, The Epik platform has become pretty vast. In the interest of internal controls, not all staff have access to all system areas, mainly for security reasons.

Indeed he is.

What also led to this impression was having to select if the chat was related to Epik, or another named company I hadn't heard of despite being logged into epik. Thinking it could have been a split virtual office type deal. Though, good to hear it's not, and that there aree internal security measures distributed throughout.

We'll simplify that intake on the Support chat -- there are more questions on there than we need to start a chat. Update to follow there. @Jess Robison

@Grilled I made some changes to the information box when starting a chat - you should no longer have to select a department. You only need to input your name, email address, and your question. Hope this new setup is helpful. I am the Director of Client Services for our Support team. My direct email is [email protected] if you find you have further questions regarding the setup there. Have a great day!

@Jess Robison Could you please explain how MaxLock works since I cannot find detailed information on your website.

Does it work on an account level or individual domain level? And how is it activated and removed? Thanks.

Since you are so competitive in most services, I thought I would ask about your .best prices. It shows, even for clearly non-premium names (I just entered a bunch of random characters) $90 if signed in to a NamePros-enabled Epik account and $125 if not, even though the wholesale price is about $15 now and several of your competitors have prices of about $18 per year. Is there some possibility that when the .best wholesale prices were dropped in the summer it was not implemented? Or is it because .best registered before March still carry the old renewal fee and for some reason your system is not differentiating. Thought I would ask.

@Embrand MAX LOCK is controlled on the Admin side and is applied to the Epik account itself, not individual domains. A lot of customers will use the MAX LOCK to ensure 110% a domain is not accidentally transferred out. On the security side of things, you can control that through your account under View Profile - Security. We offer 2FA, Google Authentication (recommended), and IP Whitelisting (only recommended if you do not travel a lot of access your account from many IP's). If you find you need further assistance or have questions you are welcome to email into [email protected] - supply your account PIN # or email me directly at [email protected]. Thanks!

@Bob Hawkes yes, I can confirm the pricing you quoted is valid at Epik.com. I am copying our TLD Manager here - @Sufyan Alani can we look into .BEST and see if we can get better pricing?

Still can't forward my Domain at Epik. Please I've tried all possible combinations of what to input in the boxes, please I need a clear breakdown. From my attachment, help tag the boxes from left to right as Box1 to Box4 and then tell me what to input via the details I'm providing. I'm forwarding to namerific, and they provided the link( www (dot) namerific (dot) com / MYDOMAIN )

Box 1:What should I input in the subdomain?

Box 2: What type should I choose?

Box 3: What do I input in forwards to?

Box 4: What status do I choose?
@Votumejero checking in here - were you able to get your forwarding set up? If not, message me directly at [email protected] - supply your account PIN # and Domain Name so I can assist you further, thanks!

@Jess Robison - are you the same Jessica from Epik mentioned here -
https://www.namepros.com/threads/inquiry-from-epik-gd-expiration.976383/ ?
Does Epik still send out unsolicited emails OR is it now safe to remove epik.com domain from my spam list?

Above mentioned thread was never attended by anybody from Epik registrar, btw.
@tonyk2000 yes, that is myself. I have been with Epik since 2012. As for that specific email being sent out, that was discontinued years ago. :)

Good to know :) Actually, I never considered an opportunity to try Epik registrar because I had to blacklist all @ epik .com in my spamfilter. Will now remove this "ban". Thanks a lot.

What is the cost of a new reg and the cost for transfer?

I'm playing around with the rental option at Epik.

When I list a domain for rent, the landing page says "Start a payment plan for [$]". Wouldn't it make more sense if it stated "Rent this domain for [$]/month"?

I admit that in my first months of domaining (it was many years ago) I did so-called "outbound marketing". Now I understand that it was wrong. Spam is always spam. I follow recent developments @ Epik registrar without being a customer, and, since Epik gave public assurance that the negative (spam) is in the past - maybe it is indeed time to try something new :)

@cbd thank you for your feedback. Right now the text "Start a Payment Plan for" is standard text for someone starting a rental or financing plan. If I am understanding you correctly, you wish to see the text reflect more of a direct note based on whether the listing is a rental or financing, correct?

Example: "Start a Rental Plan for" OR "Start a Financing Plan for"

Yes that's correct - right now, it doesn't sound like a rental plan. "Start a payment plan" sounds like financing. Of course, they're very different things in reality, so it would be nice if the verbiage were clearer.

@cbd confirmed here. Let me get that feedback passed along to our team. Thank you again!

IMO , Epik is one of the best registrar with multi solution for every specific customer , suitable as "All in one domain registrar"

Jessica is correct. We did historically have some outbound selling capability for selling off the expiry stream. We did not want the domains to just drop and fall into the hands of the likes of Namebright or other bulk dropcatcher. We did not really care what price we got but just viewed it as a way to get customers. However, it was not popular or really all that effective and so we stopped essentially all outbound and instead:

1. Send expiry stream to Snapnames.

2. Send expiry stream to Daily Diamonds: https://marketplace.epik.com/daily-diamonds

3. Warehouse domains with SSL landers for cases where we think a domain should not be dropped.

Overall, it is a much better solution, and yes email deliverability is better this way. I would advise most people to not waste their time with outbound.
