Hello,

The Gist

I had a a domain name sold at Namerific on 24-Sep-19 after negotiation for 1000$ and with the condition that they pay me via payoneer and cover payoneer fees.

Domain was pushed at Namerific account at Namebright on 24-Sep-19 but till date I have not received the payment.

Yesterday finally after enough waiting, i had asked them twice to pay via paypal, but they havent paid till now.

Some details

1). During negotiation, i countered like this

"
I do not accept this offer of 975$.

I ll come down to 1100$ and that too only if you pay me via payoneer and you pay the payoneer fees, otherwise i ll stick to 1200$, if you pay via paypal and i ll ve to bear all paypal fees.
"

In the above mail, I gave them a choice, whether to pay via paypal OR pay via payoneer and cover fees at a lesser amount.

2). They came back with this

"
Hello Vaibhav,

The prospective buyers for xxxxxx are offering $1000 max for the domain.

We can send the payment through payoneer and cover the fees, do let us know if you can accept $1000.

Thanks
"

3). I accepted the offer and pushed the domain in their account on 24-Sep at namebright.

4). I asked them for my total payout to which they sent me this mail

upload_2019-10-9_5-8-6.png

5). I asked them for payment after 2 days on 26-Sep

"
Hello,

Its been over 2 days since you have accepted the PUSH of the domain name in your account.

Whats holding you back for making the payment to me?

With regards,
Vaibhav
"

6). They replied after a day with this

"
Hello Vaibhav,

We will be sending payment for the sale of domain xxxxxx in a day or two.

Thanks
"

7). After 6 days, I asked again

"
Hello,

Its been over 6 days since you have accepted the PUSH of the domain name in your account.

Its been almost 4 days since you said, you will make payment in a day or two.

Whats holding you back for making the payment to me?

With regards,
Vaibhav
"

8). Their reply on 1-Oct-19

"
Hello Vaibhav,

We are still verifying our account with Payoneer.com. Once our account is verified in payoneer, then we can send the payment.

Thanks for your patience.
"

9) I asked on 1-Oct-19

"When did you create your Payoneer account?"

10) They did not reply me for this and again i sent a mail after 2 days on 3-Oct-19.

"
Its been 8 days since you have received the domain PUSH and you arent paying nor replying properly.

Its unprofessional.

You leave me no choice but to escalate the issue publicly.
"
11). They replied on 3-Oct

upload_2019-10-9_5-32-25.png

In the above mail, they still did not tell me when they created an account with payoneer, instead tried to blame me for the delay.

12) Later on 3-Oct, they sent me this proof

upload_2019-10-9_5-36-26.png

When they accepted the domain on 24-Sep-19, they should have created an account on payoneer but they delayed it till 30-Sep-19 and did not tell me about this till 3-Oct-19.

13) After waiting for 14 days till yesterday, I asked them to pay me via paypal

upload_2019-10-9_5-40-35.png

14). They again asked for more time

upload_2019-10-9_5-42-55.png

15) I asked to pay me via paypal again

upload_2019-10-9_5-43-52.png

Its been 8 hours since the above mail and I havent received the payment either through paypal or payoneer.

Overall its been 15 days and they havent paid yet even after repeatedly asking to pay via either method.

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
Seems like they shouldn't have agreed to pay you via Payoneer if they weren't equipped to do that. As soon as they realized they didn't have a verified Payoneer account, it seems to me they should have paid you via Paypal right away and covered the Paypal fees for the inconvenience it caused you.

On the one hand, it's nice when companies can be accommodating and that they were willing to go through the steps of getting that Payoneer account created and I'm sure they're stressing about it just as much, but on the other hand it's been too long, you shouldn't have to wait any longer to get the Paypal payment + fees covered and they shouldn't have said you'd be paid in x days if it's out of their control.

This is a bad look, hopefully they get you sorted out very quickly. Payment right now + they cover PayPal fees and ideally a discount on their service fee/commission to acknowledge that they didn't live up to their standards of service in this case (unless this is the standard, in which case, I'd re-consider using them when there are plenty of brandable marketplaces...)

I'm surprised that they would agree to pay via Payoneer if they didn't have a verified account.

Hopefully today you will receive payment.

Not sure the real reason for delay but I'm sure they have enough money for 600.

Please keep is all posted.

To be fair, Payoneer is pretty difficult to set up as a new merchant. They have their review process, and merchants are not in control over how long that takes.

Add to that, the Indian banking system has become increasingly difficult with wires increasingly being held up in no-mans-land for days. I am not sure what is going on India with banking but seems odd.

If anyone has insight into how to reliably pay folks in India, I would be curious. Transferwise is awesome for Nigeria. Xoom is awesome for Philippines. So, it varies by country and India is still a hard one.

In the meantime, many Indians are opting for crypto. This is a double-edged sword since whoever sends the money has no recourse if there is a chargeback later.

Electronic payments is clearly an area that is evolving. Epik is looking into better solutions there. For now, I just want to make sure that domain investors know that Namerific probably needs a little slack.

Regardless of any issues getting an Payoneer account it is totally unprofessional on Namerific part - They can just pay via Paypal as suggested by op.

For the reasons mentioned in this topic is one of the factors that convinced me to use Epik for selling my domain names. There is valid members testimonials detailing how you can often get paid the same day or next without these type of issues. :xf.smile:

I found Skrill to be similarly tedious.

I do agree that at a minimum they should have explained up front.

Based on what the OP posted, seems they said what the OP wanted to hear to agree to the sale.

Probabably an isolated case.

Right, if Payoneer could not solve it, they should have just settled with PayPal pronto. I agree there. I simply commented on Payoneer because I have not found them to be the easiest. I am sure it was way easier when @Brandon Abbey was there.

I recently had to wait on 3k. I was aggrevated because it was clearly late. I kept my composure and I did get paid.

Here's the thing, they owed me. I didn't have to do anything that might hurt our future relationship. If somehow they didn't pay, I could review my options.

I gave them all the wiggle room I could and going forward, I will still use the platform.

It's a small industry. I need all resources on good terms if at all possible.

Just saying.

I appreciate your concern and advice.

I have no intentions of spoiling my relations with anyone.

If they come up with a positive note, i ll continue to work with them.

I did some research on it, it just seems that Payoneer is pretty annoying to deal with. They are probably stuck in the account review process.

It also seems, that after the account review process, Payoneer could delay it further when they actually try to send you the payment, as the payment can be under review for a couple of days as well.

I suppose you should just ask for an estimated payment date and stick with, that or switch payment methods.

Why didnt you just send them a payment request from your Payoneer account? You will need the name of the company, contact person, and email, address of the company and send an invoice which anyone can pay with credit card or other means. I think there is 3% fees. I have used that many times with companies that had no Payoneer account and direct deposits or even ACHs which Payoneer receive. It was smooth and payment got cleared 3 days maximum.

It is better than asking the company to create Payoneer account and wait to have their documents verified. I think if you asked them this way, you would have been paid way earlier.

They replied, check screenshot in point 14.

But they havent paid via paypal nor they have responded regarding the status of their payoneer account.

When?

It was agreed the way it was as written clearly in the thread.

And now they are not responding.

Haven't really dealt with them. Any Namerific rep here at Namepros?

IMO just wait, clearly they are stressing out as much as you are.

I started this thread after 15 days, its been over 18 days now and I am still waiting. Do i have a choice!

That kind of scenario is the reason why I always want the buyer to purchase the Domain in my registrar's MP.

That wait is way too long, just use Paypal mate it should be done in less than a day.

Same day. I think they were not expecting to have issues with verification. As I said, the Payoneer payment request works very well and doesnt take so long x specially for a sum of 600.

Thats very true but thats how we do business with brandable marketplaces.

First, we PUSH or provide authorization codes and then marketplaces like @Brandbucket, @Brandpa or @Squadhelp pay us.

Or this system needs to be changed?

Hi @VaibhavA, Kaz from Payoneer here. I'm super sorry to hear about the issue here. Just wanted to drop some two-cents about this.

If your account is able, and as someone here in the thread suggested, you could also send a payment request to the company's e-mail address. Without getting too much into the account holder's (Namepros) activity, the reason why a paying company would need to have a verified Payoneer account to send a payment is because they are using a particular feature that will allow them to send you a payment, without needing to receive a request. If you send them a payment request, the company should be able to just pay it through the invitation that they would receive.

I'm glad to explain further or even show you how to send a payment request if you send me a private message. We're glad to do our part to see it that you receive this payment.
