I think Epik is building the best ever Domain Lander in the history of domaining, and it really needs to be talked about extensively. That's why I am creating this discussion thread. A lot of thought process really goes into the project. And I can see (for the first time) a landing page that is built from the stand point of domainers rather than for just the marketplace itself.

Everything you have ever dreamt of getting or seeing in a professional landing page can be found in the new Epik marketplace landing page design.

Some of my Favorites Features:

1. The ability to optimize your "domain for sale" landing page to actually rank on Google, displaying your sales pitch/domain description. I just did that with few of my generic domain names such as ASAP.TV, targeting certain keywords, and they are showing pretty well on Google. That's a huge plus in my marketing effort.

2. Being able to change background image is another huge one for me. If you are good with pictures and images, you will surely find this very useful. I did that with Nagasaki.org and the result was truly amazing, showing the city of Nagasaki right at the background.

There are too many positive features and I don't want to mention all of them, all alone :xf.grin::xf.grin:

So I am leaving you guys to share and discuss what you loves most or dislike about the new Epik marketplace and the landing pages.

The only negative for me is the checkout process. There are too many terms and conditions buttons to tick before checking out. It will be nice if they can streamline those into one beautiful big button :xf.cool:

They also need to place the checkout button directly under the payment options. Right now it is awkwardly place somewhere below at the sidebar, which I don't find cool at all.

Sales experience is also welcomed in this discussion. I haven't had any sells so far at Epik because I started using the marketplace just recently, but the future is looking so bright.

Should have been done as a PM.

The Singapore mirror of Epik is running normally. @Raj V or @epik can be a resource for anyone with technical challenges.

@Rob Monster
Do you plan to add the internal BTC wallets for NP members? Is it possible to implement?
For example (the one of possible scenarios), I want to receive my Bodis earnings in BTC directly to my Epik account/wallet...

We can do that already today with our Masterbucks API. I have proposed that exact arrangement before to Parklogic and Bodis, etc. It has yet to be implemented from their side but we have the capability and we would even give them a rebate, e.g. 5 cents on the dollar so that it actually saves them money versus paying out PayPal. Win-win-win. Please encourage your parking provider to do that.

As for BTC, soon Masterbucks will also let you hold BTC balances. We do already run our own BTC pay server. We also are able to hold BTC balances for customers but it is not yet part of the Masterbucks dashboard. A big upgrade is coming there.

In case not aware, your Epik login also works at Masterbucks.com.

On this page please add the possibility to test SMS delivery BEFORE 2FA will be actually enabled...
Because ~1.5 years ago (you should remember) I activated it but then wasn't able to log in due to lack of SMS from your system to my Ukrainian mobile... So I don't want such adventures again...

Thanks.

p.s. No SMS issues for me with Google, Dynadot, GoDaddy and Namecheap etc. - they are delivered successfully...

Great input.

In case not aware, we will be upgrading our SMS vendor to Twilio next week to address issues with spotty SMS delivery to some international markets The contract is signed and engineering is doing the integration now. Noted on the test SMS. Google Authenticator is a reliable alternative and popular for Epik customers.

Same here. Though I tried it less than a week ago. Rob tells me there's an upgrade coming soon that should make it work. Fingers crossed.
Edit - he beat me to it! ;)

@Rob Monster, what are you doing as regards displaying other domain names owned by the same person on a landing page. Are we going to have that feature anytime soon?

Yes, coming soon -- personal landing pages with just your domains and featured domains. @Ala Dadan

In the meantime, you can already set up your own branded marketplace domains here:

https://www.epik.com/solutions/marketplace/

You can also add cross-selling text to any of your SSL landers, e.g. scroll down here:

https://menahero.com/

The below the fold content is completely customizable. Some people use it to promote other related domains, e.g. here as guy has a network and is hoping to sell the whole network:

https://alaskasfinest.com/

He did a basic job there. If you do it this way, I would use the table-building feature and make the links clickable (and SEO-followable).

There are some people, including in Nigeria, who are becoming very expert at customizing these SSL landers. They are welcome to share their work. I imagine that some of them could do freelance work to set these up with enhanced SEO.

The above two domain names is an eye opener. Never thought of it that way.
The last paragraph got my attention. I'm off to work!

I see some folks making effective use of Twitter to promote their listings.

Here is one:

I think it can be enhanced a bit with more specific hash-tags for the logical target buyer. Feel free to tag us with @epikdotcom.

Here is one I did recently:

I definitely think wise to experiment aggressively with Twitter mentions that link to these dedicated landers.

I find it to be particularly effective during industry trade shows. Look up the trade showCalendar for the industry events for the domain you want to sell and then tag the tradeshow event name with their hash tag in your Tweet. It works. You’re welcome.

Hey, @Rob Monster, a Spaniard here. Just a brief note to let you know the Spanish version of the lander has some minor mistakes and a bit of confusing wording -things like verb forms, which are a bit complex in Spanish-. Overall it gives a kind of automated translation feeling.

PM me if you want some details about it, would be glad to lend a hand there if you want :xf.wink:

@frank-germany

As you know, at Epik we don't report client sales, but since you are being professional thorn in my side, you probably leave me no choice but to create a new MEGA-THREAD about the social media topic in specific, where we can discuss these matters and collectively enlighten each other.

However, the best example I know of is when I was at the National Restaurant Association Expo in Chicago 2 years ago, and someone wanted to sell a premium restaurant-related .COM. I Tweeted about it being in play, and tagged the event organizer and their event hashtag and immediately got multiple qualified inquiries.

So, yes, I do know that the method works for leveraging established communities and tapping influencers who are constantly looking for stuff to Retweet. I do think these landers need to be "Make Offer" for it to work since a $ price on the lander will look like a money grab whereas Make Offer looks more innocent.

More to come on this topic -- but likely in a stand-alone thread.

Another possible bug?

When I tried testing a change in price on a domain with installments it shows the wrong price in the installment box. Cannot force it back to price as shown in top.

BIN is $500
Payment plan shows $200 no matter what I change.
