Hi all,

We were asked to provide a new sales landing page for those of you looking to prioritize the sale of domains over earning money with our parking program. We are therefore excited to launch our brand new Sales Landing Page for your domains listed at Sedo.
Overall, we’ve worked to create a minimalistic design making the sole focus of this landing page layout to aid the sale of the domains being offered.
What we deemed necessary for a more efficient sales landing page:
• Navigation, account features, and even the search bar within the header area as you know from the general Sedo Offer Details Page have been removed. The Sedo logo is the only thing remaining in the header area. This page is just about your domain.
• The Legal fine print has a smaller font size and combined with a lighter text colour it is less distracting, but still readable.
• The font size of the “For sale” information is much bigger to attract visitors attention.
• The size of “Make Offer”/“Buy Now” buttons were increased to a larger width and now are highlighted in a green color making them stand out better from the neutral background.
• We implemented a Trustpilot widget, which displays the positive Sedo-rating status. This boosts confidence in Sedo as a trustworthy business partner and marketplace, thus also increasing the CTR (Click-Through-Rate) for your domain offer.

The Sales Landing Page is responsive, fast and consistent for all domains listed at Sedo for Buy Now and Make Offer. If you want to see a live version from your own device, just visit hium.com.

You can easily select the new Sales Landing Page Layout if the domain is already parked with us directly in your Sedo account. Just log in, go to your Domain Management, select the domain and then choose “Selling” from the “Layout” tab.

We will continue to test its features, listen to your feedback and make improvements.

This is great news. Just moved 200+ domains from parking to new sales lander. I remember parking revenue but now it's really minimal. Love the new look and long overdue. I emailed Sedo and they gave instructions to bulk edit all domains at once, was pretty simple. I can post how if they didn't in the prior pages.

I have an easier time managing my domains at sedo. I can take a list of hundreds of names and bulk edit them, delete them etc. I cannot do anything efficiently at afternic. I have good sales there, but it is timely to try to manage them one by one. I guess I see why no one deletes them and I have to then write to have old listings removed. I wish Dan had an easy bulk search for domains feature for bulk price edits, deletes etc.

I have tried to change a domain towards the new layout, but it does not work.
I do not use "Parking Ads".

@Sedo i request a 'Great .US Domains Auction' in September (end) or more properly from 1 October until 8 October
I am a @Sedo member since 2011 but never see a auction ( like was for .uk or .de ) , maybe i am wrong but at least in last 3 - 4 year's not see
.US is in trend right now , show chart's (Namebio etc..) , show private sales of domainers etc.. have a huge potential , not to mention that @Sedo ( at least a part from revenue ) , with fee's from any sales SEDO pay employees for job they do.

I think deserve more attention from you @Sedo afterall is market of 300 million people & a lot of domainers will be glad to participate on auction with the domains they own

Can you offer any insights into the splittesting that has happened/will happen in choosing this layout? Did Sedo run any tests to see how well it converts, or is that something that is planned in the future? I think small changes can have a big impact, and usually the first design isn't the one that will perform the best, so I'm curious what thought went into choosing this one, if it's based on internal data, etc. Thank you.

Currently, new lander forwards to https://sedo .com/...<something>. It is not good. The forsale lander should be served on the forsale domain itself. It will also improve SEO.

interesting idea...
That would be literally a self-hosted "Domain Landing Page".

It would be a couple million new websites - a website for each domain-name which is listed for sale at SEDO.
Since SEDO is owned by the hosting-company "1&1 ionos", it should be relatively easy for them to implement something like this.

You are absolutely right, the first design is usually a starting point for improvements. We released one layout this week and are already working on implementing changes based on all the valuable feedback we received here. This allows more testing in the future and we’d be happy to share insights then.

I do have my domains forwarding to the URL with this structure:

Unfortunately, the new "Landing Page"-layout is using this URL-structure:

How to apply the new "Landing-Page"-layout without changing the URL-structure ?
I am not going to change the URL-structure on all my domain-forwardings.....

Thanks for your comment.

I am sorry but the new sales lander ULR can not be altered. At the moment the sales lander is only available for customers who have parked domains with Sedo. We will put this forward to our development team to think about activating a sales lander that can be used without parking the domain.

After parking the domain, you will be able to activate the sales landing page. To change your sales lander in bulk please do as so:

1. Login to your account
2. Go to My Sedo > My Domains (Domain Management)
3. Change your view from 'standard overview' to 'Parking optimisation'
4. Select the edit pen in the blue bar next to 'Layouts' select 'edit layouts options' from the dropdown.
5. Select Sales Lander from the drop down box and select the check box next to that which will select every domain.
6. Click the green tick to make the changes.

small problem: As others said: too much empty space in the middle.

nonpraise: (Country of seller is not shown: great.) EDIT: But it is still shown when bidding.

missing: Current stats, and IPs still not shown. For example there are too many visits on many of my domains, and I can't even check if they are from the same country, today. I have to wait until tomorrow.

missing: We can't add any text on landing pages. If we could we could add contact info, or lots of keywords for seo or convincing purposes.

need fix?: I heard Sedo adds 3 percent to sale prices for credit card (nonwire) purchases. This might make buyers angry and not pay for domains they promised to buy.

idea: You can do this: Choose selling landing for all domains, with 1 click. Go to pevious landing type for all domains with one click. Would be fun. Also dis/allowing zero-clicks ads with one click, can be fun.

Since SEDO is owned by the hosting-company "1&1 ionos", it should be relatively easy for them to implement something like this.
Sedo and 1and1 are 2 separate companies under United Internet AG.
They still not implemented even FULL SedoMLS support for 1and1 domains, it works in Basic mode.
And even Sedo escrow account is absent at 1and1. Only transfer-out is possible.

I take back 99 percent of praise I made, because just before buyers bid on domains, location is still shown, and it stands out more than before. Still horrible. Time to switch to dan.com for parking. Every country and race has lots of enemies. And people also don't buy domains from people from the same country, just because they are jealous (for example they can think their neighbor, or employee, or competitor is trying to scam them).

question: do buyers at dan.com see location of seller until payment is made? Is invoice created before payment made?
...
idea: Sedo can give ratings to buyers and sellers instead of showing their location. Ratings would be based on number of cheatings. No cheating: 100 percent rating. And then buyers would think this is a good seller (true), according to previous buyers. And this may prevent people from not paying for domains they bought, because then their rating would be low.

Traffic stats have exploded in the last two days at Sedo, in both the Make Offer and Uniques columns. Probably there was an adjustment or error in whatever filters out bot traffic at Sedo. That is another argument for allowing Google Analytics in future at Sedo - then at least you are comparing like with like, in comparison to other platforms or websites.

If you are using our new Sales Lander then you may experience an increase in views, this is because the traffic via the new sales lander is not filtered and the views are a mix of real visitors and hits from bots. Therefore, the number of views can be significantly higher than views received by our traditional parking templates that are filtered.

The problem are bots . Personal i like landing page , but i think Sedo should show on land page : traffic , watchers & if is possible rating for seller
Bots are a problem , still not decide if i keep new land page or stay on old setup

The explosion in visits has also been happening in the Offer Views column
, so something has changed there and needs addressing.

The views in both columns - Offer Views, and Uniques - are suddenly so high they are meaningless to me, all I really trust is which domain gets the most and least views. The new Sales Lander might have stopped me progressively moving all domains to land at Dan.com while leaving them listed at Sedo, but now these changes have actually made things worse at Sedo for me. As said, Sedo have done a good job of getting views to the Offer Views page via partner networks, a real improvement, so I have valued the stats for that column, though not much for the Uniques column.

Allowing Google Analytics would really help. Why not? Over the years there have regularly been suspicions circulating that Sedo parking was ripping us off, either under-reporting traffic, or underpaying. Previously not having a non-parking lander supported those suspicions.

I still don't understand: what reason to categorize domains on Sedo, especially in 3 categories???
Nobody uses your multimillion directory by categories...
This section in your UI - just 100% waste of time. And can be safely deprecated/removed.

Very weak filtering even using your traditional parking...
Up to xx times higher traffic in your stats than parking the same domains at ParkingCrew or Bodis.

Thanks for your comments, I will put your suggestion forward about reducing the categories.

As you pointed out, you can choose a Master Category and two additional categories for each domain listed with Sedo. Completing these are optional, we have added 3 categories to maximise visibility of the domains in Sedo’s Domain Catalog (Online Marketplace). Categories play an integral role in helping you sell your domain faster and potentially earning more revenue from Sedo's our Parking Program.

The Master Category is the most important and should be closely-related to the domain, the domain will appear in this category in the Domain Catalogue. It enables buyers to easily locate your domain based on an industry or area of interest through browsing and search . It increases your chances of receiving offers and selling, it can improve your parking click-through rate (CTR) with targeted automatic Related Links/Popular Searches and helps to make parking auto-optimization more effective, more reliable, and more lucrative.

The second and third categories are optional, but strongly suggested. They also help create more exposure for the domain, and enable buyers to locate your domains based on an industry or area of interest through browsing, increasing your chances of receiving offers.

With regards to your question about traffic, the traffic data on the Offer Description Page refers to the Parking Uniques over the last 31 days. If you believe this is incorrect then I would please ask you to write to our customer support team so that we can look into your account in detail to see if there are any inconsistencies in the account which could be causing issues with the stats. Please email [email protected] from the email address registered with your Sedo account and provide the name of the domains which you think are effected and one of our team will look at it in detail and get back to you about it.

@Sedo I am assuming ad blockers don't anymore block the sales page which is a big improvement just by itself, no more lost traffic. I actually really like the landing page as it is, it's simple and straightforward, love the BIN button and colour, really stands out and from early testing is working well for me although it's a bit soon to be sure.

Can you please add an option to exclude VAT so for example BIN of $1000 and on the sales page it shows the applicable VAT rate based on the buyers location like dan.com allow? I know you can change the price to make sure it's all inclusive of VAT but would prefer this option if possible.

Also trustpilot widget is good but if you could also add the BBB logo to the landing page would help with trust even more IMO.
