I will only advise you to pay heed to advice of Seniors and evaluate names and also tlds and have a look at past sales before purchasing any more names. I have a lot of connections at LinkedIn who make videos and almost all of them caption their videos manually, there is seriously a need for an automatic caption provider where they just upload the video and the caption should be generated automatically. I found only Quicc(.)io to be doing it so there is actually demand for such websites and I have caption(.)online, an exact match one worder in that niche and to be realistic it is still not worth five figures and I will be lucky if it sells even in four figures :)

You received offers that range from $20k-$45k within 3 months of registering it potentially making it number 3 of all time and you rejected it?

Did you even do any checks on the offers? Where it originated from? Did they mention a certificate? I assume they where via email as your landing page has no way to contact you to make an offer.....

Did you check previous .online sales data? Pretty sure you didn't otherwise you would of realised what kind of offers you where dealing with......

Personally agree with previous comments, IF the offers where/are legitimate you should of got rid.....but you know the saying when something seems to good to be true........

That is "find my phone" the minute you add another word like online it dilutes it down to nil. Not a terrible name but estibot is pretty spot on on this one measuring your keywords. No type in value still have to work for your money with it. Since every 3 word combo dot online is still available your logic means their is still millions to be raked in.

You know what, Only YOU and an END USER knows the exact value of a name! To my understanding, any name (keyword) can sale online regardless of it's TB or CPC. About 3 months ago, I was contacted buy GoDaddy(called and emailed) regarding a customer that wanted to buy a .com domain that I barely registered less than a year for $11:99 and I put it on sale for $99,000.

History:
Seriously this thread remind me of the year 1990 when I was first introduced to the "ONLINE" business ( when the WORLDWIDE WEB WAS BORN) I enrolled myself in a computer institute and started taking MS-DOS classes as an introduction to the computer. During that time,,, domain registration were FREEEEEE
. Cybersquatting didn't existed. UNFORTUNATELY, I gave up and ended focusing on something else 😫. Long story short, before I realized, domains values skyrocket, internet developed surpassing the Microsoft- IBM war and here I'm starting over again! Who knows the value each domain extension will have 20 years from now? Only history will tell.

NOW,,, are you willing to buy domains to hold them for over 15 or 20 years spending expensive reg- fees hoping to sale them one day? I don't think that's what you are planning to do. However, I know some of the opinions expressed over here might sounds rude and actually some could be rude ( trust me I'm a newbie at NP) but I recommend you to get the positive message from each answer. I love all the recommendations @gilescoley gave you.

My final advice to you is to reach out to the highest bid( offer) and let them know that you are getting other offers and you're wondering if they are willing to come up with something different than what they previouly offered. If not, I would sale it to the highest offer and re-invest on some .com if you would like to. Remember in .COM NAMES is were the real money is at. ( Please also note it could be the same buyer making different side offers as an @undercover buyer🤔) Anything is possible in the domain industry

You received an offer of from a Godaddy Broker when you listed a domain at 99k - what was the point of this? What was the name? What was the offer? Did it sell at the asking price or did you accept a lower offer?? Did you turn down the offer flat out? Useless info without any facts backing it up.......anyone can ask for a high price doesn't mean it will sell for that

Telling her to counter an offer that might not even be genuine in the first place is potentially dangerous, she needs to establish if the offers are genuine and advising someone to expect or ask for unrealistic prices is misleading

A healthy degree of skepticism is needed when an offer looks to good to be true.......

Yes, I think there might be 4 or 5 that I would hold onto for the next 4-5 years as I think the value will increase much more. In the meanwhile I think I'm actually going to create some content-rich websites that will attracted large volumes of search engine traffic. Then when they receive a satisfactory amount of traffic, I'll put them up for sale. Think that's a better strategy. I used to be a magazine designer and currently a web designer, so those skills will come in handy.

I prefer to Skype and call (landline) any larger offers so that I don't waste my time and at least 50% of scammers fall out the bus right there. Nobody wants you to potentially record their faces and use it against them ... LOL!

Now it seems the offers you've received are genuine. If yes, try to monetize I'd suggest! Also consider flipping the other domains within the year. My thinking is that the nGTLD's are a very risky area. Trends come and go in these. After making some money from these, consider investing mostly into .coms for there's much more certainty that com will always be the king!

You could potentially buy three 3-letter .coms OR one pronounceable 3-letter.com OR a strong, short, single dictionary word .com for $45K. All are very liquid domains and will remain so for years to come with a huge probability for growth in value and a near 100% probability for profit. My advice: take the offer immediately and re-invest in some solid .com domains or you will kick yourself over and over again in the coming years for not taking solid advice from the good people here at NamePros.

ChantelleSA - I call BS. What you descibed as "offers" is bs....large marketing companies have markmonitor and CSC reach out - and you haven't mentioned either.

And, things just don't happen as you have described.....you don't get a plethora of offers all at once.

It wasn't 'all at once'. I received inquiries via WHOIS and I sent 25-30 emails directly to the top SEO/marketing companies with an offer.

Who Googles 'world'? If you research the .online extension, you will find alot of info as to why it is so popular. It also has wide appeal. Your domain that you can purchase is not a popular search term or keyword term.

I have my share of .online domains too.

I like it because:

1. it's targeted (for online, net, web customers).

2. There are a good number of searches with the keyword: online. This means you get to shorten the domain since the .tld is already .online (Good for branding).

3. With keyword sets where customers include the keyword: online in their search, you do good SEO if ONLINE is included in your domain

4. .online's Global ranking SEO-wise is better compared to other new TLDs.
