Hey!

Searching for my place in the business and what kind of domains I should focus on.
And if I should to outbounds, auctions, branding or whatever. So here I have 10 different domain names. Please vote on one that would most likely land a sale. Also a comment would be nice.

Whoever has the best comment in 7 days I will transfer my mispelled domain chrashit/com to (if you want it)

You will have to wait until August though since its under reglock.

Thanks for helping a newbie out.

Not my forte but gambling a popular niche.
Slots/card
When I see word "slots", I think gambling!

What made you buy/register such domains? They don't look to have any value to me. I would start over if it was me.

Okey. Thanks for pointing that out. A good advice would be even more appreciated.

Here is my train of thought for some of the names

Slots / cards : Slots/Info sold for 25000 and several other slots has sold for over 2000. And Cards are pretty close related.

Tokentic / com : Short name with Token in it. Future-safe.

SoftMittens / com : Outbound for handmade, actually got two companies interested!

CryptoTra / de : Just a wordplay to see if some interesting party would like to aquire together with my LibraTra / de and TokenTra /de.

JoyRod / com : short two word com for adult industry.

Millionaz : Brandable for millenials. Squadhelp or Brandbucket.

Climatedot / com
Easy spelled popular keyword where the ”dot” is silent since you always say dotcom.

TheAutoDriver / com
Double meaning and a hint of selfdriving cars. Already got an inbound that fell through because of to high pricetag. But now a broker have taken upon herself to look for interested buyers. So we will see.

That was some of the thinking I did behind the regs. Please give me some feedback I could use instead of ”startover”, would be much appreciated.

OK. Here's my view....
  1. TheAutoDriver / com
  2. Slots / cards
  3. Tokentic / com
  4. CryptoTra / de
  5. JoyRod / com
  6. YoyCom / com
  7. DICENewYork and DICENYC / com
  8. Millionaz / com
  9. DoseBuy / com
  10. SoftMittens / com
  11. Climatedot / com

1. No real value
2. I will admit this might have some value. I don't have good idea about NGTLDs
3. No real value
4. No real value
5. No real value. Adult only pay good price for visitors/clicks.
6. No real value
7. Might have some value
8. No real value
9. No real value
10. No real value. But I like this. 2 word meaningful .com. Has some potential. IMHO.
11. No real value. Dot/Dots suffixes don't have value unless related to the prefix, somehow.

So. If push comes to shove. I'd keep 2/7/10. and sell off the remainder at auction on NP for $1 start/incr.

Thank you. So if we summarize from my initial post you would keep 30% of my domains. Thats pretty different from ”start over”. I really appreciate the input you have given me now and will keep especially the adult = clicks in my memory since that was a really good hands on advice.

I would not have registered any of those 4 domains, personally. 3/4 of them were gambling domains, which I don't have a good feel for. I did say "if push comes to shove". So I wouldn't exactly say that is a ringing endorsement. My favorite was #10 from the first time I read your post. But I think it's a risk, how much a buyer will pay for this domain. IMHO. So. It's your decision what you wish to do. You asked for opinions. You got mine :)

Would love some feedback!
Stay away from new gtlds. Stay with with dot coms. No made up stuff. Just one or two words that someone can use for their business.

Brandable (made up stuff) generally has circa $0 value because there is so much competition. Just like the crap invented here. It needs to be extremely superlative in order to ever find a buyer. Let alone a buyer who might pay a premium price (greater than $100). The odds are infinitesimal that you will find a buyer.

Considering that you are just starting, the names are not that bad all. I saw WAY worse names here.

I personally like Tokentic / com as a brandable, can sell for 2-3k imo at some brandable marketplace..

Now, I think that what you should focus on depends on your personal objectives. If you want quick results in form of sales, you can trade with LLLL names, for example you can but something like xdds.com for 150 and sell it to someone for 200. Profit of 50 is still profit for some. If you are talented much more.

Or you can splash 500k for some nice .com 1 worder, and maybe sell it for 800k later. Or not.

You can also invest in new gTLDs, but you need to find really good names prices with low renewals if it should make good sense. This is not an easy task. Names like Slots / Cards will probably not cut it (just imo), although again, I have seen much worse then this here. New gTLDs can actually allow you to register some very good names, so instead of not- much-sensical climatedot / com, you can have something like climate / zone, which actually really means something.

But I would say, whatever you choose, do not do mix of everything, as if you do bit of everthing, you will not master anything (or maybe you will if you are an exception, I do not know you, lol).

GL :)

In my opinion, I think 'SLOTS' might hold a certain value in the market. Generally people prefer short names for there businesses.

Why did you not vote for it, above?

Dot in the end is Pointless (pun intended).

It is weird, because you'd have to pronounce it as Climate Dot Dot Com.

While Dot Climate Dot Com is less confusing, it is still not desirable, as one of the dots is written in letters, another one as a symbol "."

It is like Fifty5Books.com, consistency is a good thing in a brand.

Slots/Cards. Don't reg combos, where you yourself have hard time defining how it can be used. You must have at least 1 clear use.

To give you an example, I bought anem/com because anem- has Greek/Latin meaning of wind, life etc., so I though it would be perfect for wind energy company. And then exactly that happened. I bought jouz/com thinking juice maker, jewish community, juicing/vaping, and vaping device manufacturer bought it etc.

@Levererarn - Let us know what you decide to do.

Thank you for all the new input. Very helpful for me to get the views from experienced domainers. If poll would end today I would buy a showing for slots / cards. And for future regs focus less on brandables.
I will still try to have my own personal touch of the names I register however and see if I can have some luck on outbound. In other endevours in life I have sometime seen that ”ignorance is bliss”. As long as there is some talent hidden there. And that is What im trying to find out. I appreciate your opinion and thank you for your time.

Haha, I hear you! You cant imagine how many times I was trying to read climatedot like it was the first time. And almost never I ended up with climate dot com. So that was just a bad reg I guess. Would have hoped that people read it in another way. Thanks for making it clear!

Wow, thanks man! The advice to focus on one thing first is really good. Problem is that since Im so late to the game Im trying to learn too much at once without really any follow through. Will for sure keep this advice close to my heart. Thank you so much for your time and valuable advice. Awesome.
