I recently received this mail from GoDaddy with an offer of $150 for a domain name which I didn't list with them, ans it's not even registered with them.

How true is it, though I countered the offer.

That should be a goddady buy service, yes it's possible. Meaning if you eventually sell, you won't be paying any commission to godaddy. Buyer foot the bill

Thanks bro

I countered it, and the next mail I saw was that it will be taken to auction, though it's two days now and didn't hear from them anymore.

Taken to auction after counter? That's not possible

Not sure about the unintentional 'listing' but just so you know, those 'broker' offers from daddy can be far below a retail value for a domain.

I had a lowball offer come in on a domain which I rejected and countered at 2500...never heard back until the automated email came from daddy saying the offer/interest had expired about 25 days later.

It sold about 40 days later (40 days from first email contact) to the person that used the broker to make the anonymous offer. It sold for much more than the initial lowball offer.
