discuss How To Backorder .co.uk Domains?

I am having problems backordering a .co.uk domain.

- godaddy, pool and dropcatch don't offer backordering services for uk domains, for some reason.
- i registered on crazydomains but my account is pending verification
- dynadot and some uk registrars only offer backorders for domains that are registered on their site
- there are two uk registrars that say "this domain was backordered already for another client".

I think my backorder worked on snapnames.com but I am not sure (where can I check?).

So what is the best option?

A few of the .co.uk services only allow 1 order per domain, so it's first come basis. There are still some that allow multiple orders and send to auction if caught. Catchtiger auctions before the drop is caught... which leads to heightened disappointment when you win the auction, only for the catch to fail.

Here's some more services:
https://ukbackorder.com/
https://catchdrop.uk/
https://www.domainjunky.co.uk/
https://www.domainrecover.net/

Not experienced enough yet in .uk catching to make a call on which are best. First two in the above list have gone okay. Seems to be a fairly balanced/competitive market.

That's strange.
I've been using ecatch.co.uk until it went dark recently and still hasn't been up. ecatch was a very nice site, clean and fast, and was very happy with it.

That ukbackorder.com in your list looks exactly like ecatch.. I wonder what's the case here.. I even might try to use my ecatch credentials to see what happens :)

dropped uk says:
Already booked
Sorry, [hidden].co.uk is already booked.

How do I backorder on catchtiger?
I only see a backorders alert function but no actual backorder: https://www.catchtiger.com/en/diensten/backorder/

Backordering with .UK is first come, first served, So if Dropped.uk says it is booked, it means someone else already backordered it through them.

Ukbackorder and catchdrop both look same as well. they are both running off same software platform, may be used by others too.
head over to the UK domaining forum called accorndomains, they will give more insight. a few of their members are successfully running their own dropcatching services. Seems a very different market, independent operators are able to set up and compete for drops, unlike the .com arena which is virtually a duopoly.

Thanks for that.

I already contacted the owner of ukbackorder and got all my inquiries sorted out.
As you said, they are different entities, it's only the platform that looks the same.

Sorry to piggyback but this seems to be the best thread on NP for what I am looking for too, that is looking for the best service/site for dropcatching a .co.uk domain. I do not care about the different strategies eg. auctions before sale, asking for credit card etc.

This discussion is old. So things must have changed. Can anyone please recommend current top three with best success rate.
Thank you.

ukbackorder is wierd. I tried to register with my official gmail account and it says...:cautious:
FYI, I pay for this email.
You cannot sign up from a free email address
Now another site catchdrop.co.uk has exact same interface and it does allow the email. Just strange.
Makes me wonder if either of them is any good.
