Uniregistry tries to sell even a useless name at $$$$$

Surely they will offer peanuts if we submit names. I did go ahead and submit my 50+ names, not to sell but just to play around :xf.laugh::xf.laugh::xf.laugh::xf.laugh::xf.laugh:
Hey we would appreciate after you get your quote it would be great if you can post your domains and what they offered so we can get an idea

Sure thing, just FYI guys I submitted some of the top premium domains just to check how much these guys offer. Will let you know once I get their quote.

Uniregistry should not make a announcement to liquidate our domains, the announcement should be to liquidate their names. Simply the other way around.

Well guys I would suggest all of you to submit names even if you dont own it, just to check what these guys offer. There is nothing wrong in it.

When uniregistry can announce liquidation sale for our names, why cant we play around.

For the peanuts they offer no one will sell it. Try submitting your names and you will get to know what they are. Also try enquiring a premium name they own and u will better get to know them :)

I suggested to submit names that you dont own, just to know their offer price.
Offcourse you cant sell what you dont own.

Sold a collection of names for $80K at one point [in 2016], mostly what I considered to be very crappy four letters. Retained the best four letters, and still have many dozens of these top top four letters. The Asian buyer turned around and sold them, individually, for 10X more. He managed to sell them off very quickly too, within a few months. So selling in bulk is not always the smartest idea. Basically gave away a million dollars. My manager was running the show then, was not entirely my decision.

This is turning into a slam Uni/Frank thread and that was not my intention when i created this thread.

No, do not do this. This is a F-ing Assinine suggestion.

This could be a very good opportunity here for some domainers and Frank is a very creative and good guy in our Industry.

Based on the offers we all receive we could decide if this was a good opportunity :)

.
Don't worry about that, not your intention & not your fault.

Obviously, he & his company are targeting domainers with top top quality names, I think he should come on here & address the issue.

Why not? After all the plan is to benefit himself & other domainers right? ;)

See this is why we can't have nice things... Frank and Uni are trying to do something that will benefit a certain section of the community that needs immediate money from their assets, but it has turned into a bashing from people who are not in the situation to need the immediate money.

Try to understand who the intended audience is, if you have premium names and are able to hold onto them until they sell then this program was not created for you IMO.

I'm greatly interested in what Frank's doing here and hope he succeeds

We should keep in mind that if 100 solid .COM domains might generate one sale a year and the investor has to pay renewals on the other 99, what can a portfolio buyer realistically be expected to pay for that portfolio? For alternative extensions where the sales ratio might be lower than 1% and the renewal costs higher, portfolio buyers might be hard to find. Obviously they cannot offer anywhere near retail prices.

I don't think people who buy at low balls $$ and try to sell at $$$$-$$$$$ need much respect. If some one is supporting them I'm sure they belong to same category as franc/uniregistry.

You just described the entire industry, and the majority of all industries. Buy at wholesale and sell at retail is a core tenant of the every retailer. We have bought several portfolios at per-domain prices that look ridiculous individually, but when added up represent a good deal for us and the seller.

At the end of the day, Uni is extending a process that works in very large quantities down to lower quantity portfolios. Time will tell if the economics work out, but I hope they do.

Paul the portfolios that godaddy buys ,what would you say the payout is based on the godaddy tool that is based on comparable sales that have actually sold

Common not all industries works this way. Uni will try to buy at $$ and sell it at minimum $$$$.
No retailer in any other industry tries to sell at 100 times the whole sale price.

At the end of the day, I can see that people like Uni/Fran only want to grab the top quality names at peanuts and sell it at dinosaur prices.

And how funny it is they launch a domain liquidation announcement for our domains. Only fools would sell it to them at this point at peanut prices.

Paul has no other option than support Franc/Uni, bcoz they both are in the same industry and probably they follow the same strategy. I dont blame you paul, but unless you are at the other end you dont feel what exactly it is.

well I own 2300 I’d say the top 100 are worth 10k each ,but they have to sell ,it’s tough paying out 20k a year on renewal, this can be a win win 4 everyone

Well I agree the renewal is hard at 20k a year, atleast if the names are picked well I dont see a problem in selling it.
