A lot of domain investors also invest in crypto currency it seems as of late. I usually feel pretty confident that a domain I carefully acquire today will be a 10x+ my investment including holding time. If say, I were to buy bitcoin today, is it feasible that i would get 10x my money?

You can probably better utilize your domain sale via crypto especially to a crypto related company.

I actually miss the days crypto was flying high, as I really enjoyed crypto transactions, and was easily able to convert if needed, but when I purchased I got better value on my buys from domainers thru crypto. The amount of people on namepros that are so reliant on PayPal is so disappointing.

I just read that article, expect URDP on Bitcoin domains.
Only one way to find out, show access into that wallet. I don’t think small domainers need to worry, they may have more of an issue with bitcoin cash etc

No.

He hasn’t been awarded any exclusivity to the term “bitcoin”, and never will.

Bitcoin is licenced under open source.

From the horses mouth ( Bitcoin .org ) -

"Bitcoin is open-source; its design is public, nobody owns or controls Bitcoin and everyone can take part."

So is Wordpress:

"The WordPress Foundation is a charitable organization founded by Matt Mullenweg to further the mission of the WordPress open source project: to democratize publishing through Open Source, GPL software."

But still:

"Complainant is WordPress Foundation (“Complainant”)
<...>
... it is Ordered that the<wordpress-toronto.com> and <wordpress-support.com> domain names be TRANSFERRED from Respondent to Complainant."

Let the guy prove he’s Satoshi by providing access to the initial wallet. He can’t do that.

There’s 1.1 million btc sitting idle. That would make him one of the richest people on earth.

Bitcoin could not be invented by just 1 person... Too complicated. At least a lot of crypto experts were of this opinion after the "boom" started. A question that still has to be answered is - where and how it was beta-tested.

This is different from wordpress because Bitcoin Foundation has not trademarked the term and has condemned any individuals or businesses that tried to do so .

This includes a failed trademark attempt by a company in USA in the past as the tm was not granted .

Some details on the link below, but the main jist is that while you may tm a phrase containg the word ' bitcoin' for example - if you branded as " bitcoin + my business brand" for a genuine business in that particular category , the bitcoin foundation has stated “It is a generic term like the terms used for other currencies such as “dollar”, “euro,” “yen,” etc,” it had stated. “The Foundation is committed to doing what it can to protect the term “BITCOIN” for public use.”

https://www.newsbtc.com/2015/03/03/us-application-bitcoin-trademark-turned/

Also, if you registered any bitcoin domains prior to anyone that branded their business with the same keywords, you did not register them in bad faith since you already owned those names before anyone branded as them.

Edit - post updated with additional details

I was waiting on a big BTC payment from a client, to add to my stores that have hodl'ed since 2011, and will continue to hodl. It didn't come in when BTC had dipped to below 7K, it came in when BTC was at 7800. Still, I accepted it, why not? Will hodl!

What about unregistered trademarks then?

Will the Real Satoshi Nakamoto please standup?

He can’t because he’s dead (Hal Finney)... imo

That’s why it’s so easy for an a$$clown like CW to say he’s him.

see my previous post as i updated it with additional details.

This is what i learnt from some research , many people in many countries have failed at tm attempts unless it was a genuine business they were running that only contained the term ' bitcoin 'as part of their brand name and not any sort of exclusivity or wholly for the term bitcoin itself.

Bitcoin was developed by the US gov as a means to reply fiat. US gov is like a drug dealer in this scenario who developed crack. Give them a little taste with flawed Bitcoin then hook them in with Ripple.

For far too long regular to criminal orgs have been hiding money and not paying taxes in the process. When paper money becomes obsolete how can people get paid under the table? Or fence a stolen item? Or make an innocent illegal bet on who will will the Super Bowl?

I predict Gold's value will go up as the only real means to conduct illegal activities once paper money goes the way of the dodo.

I guess this includes all other precious metals even jewels.

Your post - All conjecture. You do realize that, no?

But actually looking back at some posts from about ten years ago at a couple of my forums there were one or two people who were adamant about staying away from stocks bonds and cash and predicting the collapse of all currencies within five years and that only tangible bullion like gold would be worth holding.

Hasn’t happened yet.

The US left the gold standard in 1971, and paper money started in western civilization in the 17th century. I don’t see us reverting to bullion only, sorry. Not ever. Even if we had nuclear war and most everyone and everything were wiped out why would gold then become valuable?

If indeed everything collapsed I think we'd revert to a barter system, not necessarily gold. What good would a hunk of metal be if everything around centralized government including banks etc. were gone?

I recall this classic Twilight Zone episode where robbers stole a bunch of gold and then placed themselves in suspended animation for many years to escape the consequences. When they returned, they started killing each other over the gold not aware that gold had become worthless in future society when science figured out how to manufacture it artificially.
