I have this domain on my watchlist at Sedo because I have been interested in it. Have been for sale for a while with $3million price. Two days ago, I received two notifications within an hour about new bids. When I clicked on the link, the domain was no longer up for sale.

Obviously the offer was accepted. And the two quick bids suggests that maybe the buyer made the first bid, the seller quickly countered, the buyer made another bid which was accepted.

How much do you think it would have sold for? Perhaps $2million?

I am completely not sure, maybe someone could reach out and find out more details.

An expensive name, that's for sure.

Great domains like this are invaluable. You could conceivably ask whatever you want a an owner. $10 mil to $20 mil isn’t out of the question these days for the best of the best.

Sorry, the minimum offer set for the domain was actually $3million. Obviously the name is selling for at least $3m.

Great name, many uses for a company valued in the billions. I'd be looking for 1/10th of that billions :)

Powerful name... lifestyle even applies to medicine..

Tbh, not sure if domains will last longer than a few more years... tlds are starting to weaken .com, now apps are starting to weaken internet addresses.

I mean, like Instagram is a huge traffic community ... But no one visits their domain. It's all via app.

Twitter is not the same because Twitter is more browser-accessible.

But the general trend is moving away from domains imho.. But of course, people will always need company websites. Or maybe not. As soon as I find a company that has a unique way of having an internet headquarters that isn't a website, then that's when I'll really think domains are at a decline

But I say this because I think lifestyle.com probably sold at its peak time should domains weaken even more within the next 5 years

Instagram.com has around 3.2B visits according to similarweb

There's been like, what, 10 sales in the last 30 years over 10 mil. I don't think we should be making something sound commonplace when it's not. This name would never sell at that caliber, and you know it. Especially with new G's everywhere, why would someone fork out millions on a less qualified legacy extension when they can get an exact-match new extension for far less?

Obviously the offer was accepted.
It was? Correct me if I'm wrong, but seems I can put in an offer right now via the Sedo lander if I so chose. Still for sale, no?

Good point and actually if you use the NameBio database of domain only sales it appears the number is 2 sales (but both on same domain) and one more just a bit below. Some lists have more, but they include assets other than simply the domain name. Of course NameBio does not have sales from a number of venues. If you extend to any above $5M, NameBio have 15. https://namebio.com/?s==UTMzcTM2EjM So I totally agree with you that such sales are far from common.

As far as I can see the exact lifestyle has not sold in a publicly recorded value in the big 3 legacy extensions. It has sold 30 times as part of a domain name, or in another TLD, but only 4 of them are $1000 or above. With so many companies using TM lifestyle not sure if there has been hesitation on that ground. There are a few more exact words in GD GV including one in .asia and a .club, both low to mid $$$$. Clearly the net is for sale for $188k and the .org is in use. The .com is still make offer.

The new extensions are garbage which is why .com continues to sell for huge amounts of money. Sure, start your biz on .junk but the goal is to own the .com.

Also, there are sales where the seller keeps equity in the domain/future project, resulting in huge paydays. Business.com comes to mind...

The best .com nowadays are worth an absolute fortune and values will continue to climb. I certainly wouldn’t rely on NameBio for accurate reports. They can’t even tell if expired auction sales actually complete.

Two things: Either the deal did not fall through (buyer did not pay) or the new buyer decided to list it back for sale at higher price.

It's a world class domain and very very of the moment as more and more people choose the flexible lifestyle many selling their houses to live in a rv's Campervans and Narrowboats etc

And it would depend on who owned it and who brokered it etc as to how much it sold for

It's a 2m+ domain all day long
