I know the seller invested quite a bit to have the name, but in the end; he made a home run and a fair deal for both parties !

One of my best deals, and I’m happy to have been apart of it. It wasn’t an easy road but everyone I met here or elsewhere, and everything I learned about domains and domaining built up to the sweet reward

🤵🏼🥂

Doesn't heard about that, but seems like one of the most serious and big sales in ngTLD.

No need considering anything since you already sold. Who is the seller, and who's the buyer? Please let us know the price. Congrats!

It's a little bit strange that the buyer it's not a licenced mortgage broker and his websites are just for educational purposes and the company address it's in a coworking office sharing space in Florida. Why somebody will pay xxxxx-xxxxxx for an educational website?

He's obviously a broker. He steers you to a loan company, maybe even ones he owns.

Maybe he likes the domain :):)

Not sure if you were at the NamesCon in session where he explained the domain and model for Home. loans (which in turn was based on his success with Multifamily .loans). One point he made (from my possibly faulty memory) was to first secure high traffic before monetizing that traffic. Ultimately the money is made by connecting lenders and potential clients, rather than to do the lending directly. If one does not need a building, why would you not use a co-sharing space? i see tons of small companies doing it of late - I think there are at least 3 co-sharing services in my small city in Canada. One can dispute a business model but it has seemed to work for him, and he is now expanding it again.

Also should probably point out that as I read it only 3 of the top 20 sites on Internet (according to Alexa at least https://www.alexa.com/topsites ) actually directly sell you anything. Show that there can be, in some cases, good return on websites that offer a service, even an unpaid one.

I really hope that we know the price paid at some point. So the broker has implied it is much more than mid $$$$$, and pointed out the $500k number home .loans went for.

The mortgage lending industry is worth a trillion dollars plus, in fact it’s so much money that Google used to have “mortgage” as the highest priced keyword for Adsense and PPC - were talking about $50 a click, and mortage.com (typo) sold for a quarter million - not to mention the fact that Citi Bank owns mortgage.com and mortgage.biz and Bank of America owns loans.com - the GTLD, mortgage.loans and home.loans are prime examples of internet banking GTLDs

In the right hands with the right traffic, it’s quite something; even as an educational site with paid partners, but I believe Janovers’ focus was to educate the consumer before trying to sell them something, which most lenders don’t bother to do
