ALPNAMES.COM - WARNING! WILL DELETE YOUR DOMAINS & HIKE PRICES WITHOUT NOTICE.

As someone who has experience with almost every major registrar out there, I am very unhappy with my AlpNames.com experience. Here's why:

1. They raised their .COM renewal fees from $8.75 to $15.00 with NO warning, NO email, NO reminder or alert. A few days prior I renewed a few domains at $8.75, a couple days later I add expired domains to my cart to renew, they're all set at $15.00 each. Dozens of them.

2. They will DELETE DOMAINS from your account OR CHARGE YOU a $60 Recovery fee, a DAY BEFORE the deadline date they specified in their emails when the domain expired! For example: "You must renew domain before the 3rd or it may be unable to recover!" , Ok fine, then on the 2nd, not the 3rd, they're all deleted or a 60 recovery fee is slapped on them. And I checked time-zones, that had nothing to do with it, they were clear in all time-zones!

3. Slow responses for support. I've contacted their support regarding the price hike, then about the domains being deleted before their due time, going on 4 days still waiting for response on time-sensitive/urgent issue.

4. Lastly, Visa doesn't seem to like this company as they're always blocking payment to them. I had to call my bank several times.

I was introduced to AlpNames because of the transfer promo a couple years ago, without issues which is why I didn't transfer out, $8.75 was reasonable so I paid back the savings to them AND THEM some, renewed my domains (HUNDREDS) for 2+ years with them AFTER promo and was going to again, NOT NOW.

If you have names with AlpNames, again, they hiked .com renewals up from $8.75 to $15.00, so if you have dozens or hundreds of domains to renew and you're not looking for an unpleasant surprise during renewal time, here's your fair warning which they won't give. And they lock your domains so you can't transfer out after expiry date and they may just delete your domains or put them in grace period early. Enjoy.

@Netrix Ken Please email our support team ([email protected]) with the domain name and letting them know. All .com/.net domains should be in the correct accounts with the exception of a few which we need customer's help on so if there is anyone that has a .com/.net domain and hasn't received an email please get in touch.

It is the same company and the domain should still be in your account at moniker.com. You should have received an email for a .link domain, please check your junk folder and if nothing there get in touch via [email protected]

We are still trying to negotiate with them, the standard bulk transfer fee for Registries is a sticking point. You should be able to google how much that is.

Am I correct that .gdn domains have not yet transferred, @KS-Marketing ? (more generally is there a list anywhere re which TLDs have transferred and which have not?)
Thank you very much!
Bob

Looks that it is better to drop those .TOPs... and to reg them again if necessary.

What I am saying is that although ICANN have awarded the Alpnames names to Moniker, the Registry has to co-ordinate the bulk transfer of those names over to us and they will not do so at present. That is what we are attempting to negotiate on. @Bob Hawkes We are in the same situation with .GDN unfortunately.

I can't say when these will be available.

Nope never got an email. My domain did have private Whois if that affected anything.

I already emailed that email last night but no response yet.

Thanks.

Here are the remaining gTLDs:

.org - 10/04/2019
.top - Waiting on Registry
.gdn - Waiting on Registry

Note that we weren't awarded the ccTLDs but we recommend if you need help with those to get in touch and we will contact the Registry on your behalf.

The support team should pick these up in the next hour or so, there are only a handful of new tickets in their queue.

Thank you so much, @KS-Marketing - really helpful.
So it appears the vast majority of TLDs have moved but probably not the vast majority of domains (since Alpnames were so top heavy in .top and .gdn, I believe, not sure just guessing).

ps should not .icu be on the list? I had 2 (only) at Alp and they both are transferred.

Thanks again,

Bob

Yes, and .ooo should be on there as well. I received email last week that they were moved to Moniker, even though I had transferred them out long ago to another registrar.

//
Your ooo domain/s are now available at Moniker.com

Please note, if you have already transferred your domain to another provider then that name will be removed from your account automatically when we have completed our sync. There is no cause for concern.

Apologies, those two were missed. Indeed if you have emails they have moved.

hello friends, had someone account funds on alpnames to time of termination?

I had some and withdrawed funds via panel- panel shows that funds were paid, however that is not true, they kept money.
I tried to contact them in a few ways- but they not responding since 17th of march.

Any ideas?

ouch... that must hurt to have funds on a dead or dying registrar...wonder if icann has some no loss policy protection for that too.

On my control panel at Resellerclub there are now 10 domains (.info & .eu only) coming from the Alpnames ...now dead control panel.

On my control panel at Moniker there are now 117 domains (40 .com & .net) (37 .party & .webcam) (38 .org) (2 .city) even if some domains are meanwhile expired.

But we received invoice for some of them ...saved ...already ...of course.

Maybe there are some casualties? (3 .info) (2 .com) (1 .com acronim by five letters) (1 .net acronim by five letters) even being the Date of that pending casualties ...are the same Date of other 117 now living domains.

Auuuuggh!
