Is Facebook getting into cryptocurrency??

Why would anyone else pay $10k for that domain name?

:wtf:
Supposedly they are:

https://www.coindesk.com/facebook-coin-could-generate-billions-in-revenue-barclays-analyst

Not sure they would even want that domain, and if they did whether they would try to buy it or file a UDRP. They have already filed 8 UDRPs against domains containing "FB":

https://udrp.tools/?s=24e3ffe4

Some of those cases list a primary domain with "Facebook" but they had secondary domains that only had "FB" in them. So it will likely be on their radar. My guess is they'll want it just to avoid phishing/scams, but based on the sale price yesterday it'll probably be through UDRP rather than paying five figures.

Very risky purchase assuming it wasn't Facebook winning the auction.

A lost of money for the winner if Facebook comes for the domain name...
