It is an interesting question but it probably depends on the type and value of the domain you are selling. Also the question of best could be interpreted best probability of sale or for best net prices. Nevertheless will be interesting to see what the community thinks.

You have a pretty comprehensive set of response options but for example in registry marketplaces Dynadot and Namecheap are both popular (I do realize you have Other as choice). Also while still relatively new ToughDomains is another sales marketplace.

Thanks for the poll!

Bob

Really..where is Epik in your poll?!? By far the easiest platform I have ever used for selling a name. Of course I have them listed with the biggies as well (afternic, etc.) but Rob's platform is made for domainers...period.

I agree with @Mister Funsky that Epik offer nice service for selling domain names.

I also noticed that while you have private broker listed and also outbound, you don't have a direct option for those who find creating their own website to sell the best option (except Other or if they use Efty for it).

I have only ever had 5-figure sales on Efty so I'm sticking with them.

I would add them, but unfortunately I no longer can edit the poll for changes. Thanks for sharing though! I hope further discussion regarding Epik will provide them with some exposure. I feel as though it's not widely used yet.

Thanks for sharing your insight! Very good question about interpreting "best". When I created the poll, I was hoping to direct conversation toward best probability of sales, but I did not make that very clear in the poll.

Wow, that's excellent! Have you tried using other marketplaces? Why do you believe Efty works better for you compared to other marketplaces? Thanks for sharing!

Too bad they can't be added or used to replace one of the other options you listed...but I doubt they will be worried about the exposure or lack thereof. :xf.smile:

Since you don't have any direct knowledge of their platform. may I suggest you spend a few dollars and register a domain there and experience the options available to a domain investor at Epik. My ratio of domains registered with them are 40 to 1 over any other single provider (I never put all my eggs in one basket).

But, the bottom line is the quality of the domain you offer rather than where...a crap domain will not sell anywhere regardless of the up to 30% commission and goofy logo the 'marketplace' may come up with...all a good name needs is a landing page with a reasonable price and/or 'make offer' option. Or, as Kate says, the 'who is' data is all you need if the domain is strong.

I've tried quite a few others. Efty is just really easy to use and there's no fee when selling domains, only a monthly cost which is pretty low. The stats in the dashboard is also amazing, and the landing pages look great. Integration with escrow.com, paypal etc is also nice.

Couldn't agree with you more! At the end of the day, quality domains is what matters. That being said, there is also needs to be marketplace of some kind to sell said domains. There are many options out there, and I'm hoping this poll will generate some good discussion about which method may be best. There are many variables to this of course, but it's a fun discussion no less.

Just curious, how do you process payments with zero fees? Unless you are only using an Escrow service with buyer paying all fees.

I’ve had best success via Afternic. Sedo is second best.

My favorite domain sales platform is Undeveloped.
