Just wondering what the general thoughts are about whether the recent trend to legalize marijuana will boost the prices of pot-related domains?

As CBD and genetics become patentable alongside Trademarks on strains, I'd think any domain would be sold in almost a legal " proper " if not expected squatter scenario. Fascinating times were in as domainers. Whereas legit squatting on a strain and or genetic play is perfectly legal and from a principal perspective even okay. Sounds perfectly legit.

I can't even imagine the amount of filings sitting before the Trademark system, that takes about a year too work thru the system. The Farm bill was just signed a month ago. So up until then ( and even now to a extent ; government is sloooow) one couldn't present a Cbd abd or Genetic genome into the system with any ease.

Can't really make out what you're talking about here sounds like a lot of mumbo jumbo. Genetics where patented in 2005/6 most notably by GWPharma. This whole thing of registering strain names is childs play. Do you go to grannysmith.com to buy apples? "domainers" do make me laugh

What on earth does that mean?

Not.sure what you mean by "childs play"?

Are you are for registering strain names or not recommending it?

Personally, my developed sites are getting searches for strains...information about type, percentages of THC/CBD etc!

Theres not 1 licensed cultivar with legal patents Federally ( cross state ). With .3% + genetics on CBD and Thc 0 allowable.

Their are some sketchy state by state roundabouts in some legal states.

There are NO TM and or Patents ( genetics ) issued by any federal court in Cannabis on touch the product as a guideline, Impossible with Cannabis scheduled as it is.

Their are some newer .3% CBD genetics protected, although these were only approved in Ky and Co. And from what i gathered as per the farm bill 2014 this was not a federal program, thus no access too federal system to protect proprietary genetics, Tm or Patents.

The newly signed Farm bill will open up the system. Only in .3% and lower with NO Cannabis access to protections on 3%+.

As Kieth also confirmed its pretty hard to get any protections in this industry from any federal system. On a " touch the product " protections.

This week there was some patents filed on the " process " and equipment too protect cbd formulations. The article I read was skeptical of such a roundabout.

If one searches curaleaf, they are at the forefront of getting cbd TM, and or genetic protections. Nothings been approved though.

Theres your answer on strains and genetics as it stands today. From my knowledge.

Does this have relevance too domains, yep absolutely as the entire federal system becomes available in Cbd as per the federal farm bill 2018.

If anyone knows more; chime in.

I have 2 'strain' suffix domains but they are in the singular form preceeded by either 'holy' or 'golden'. I'm a big fan of both, and strain names in general.
Nice. Actually I wondered whether to pick the singular form or the plural, but as you see I finally decided to go with the plural, as I think it makes the most sense for the use cases I'm envisioning.

Good luck with yours!

I have a dispute open regarding this auction. At $1461 the auction time elapsed and said auction ended. Seconds later a new bid popped up and time was added. I took a screenshot of the system saying it was over and sent it to my rep and the auctions team. I’m sure they’ll come up with some excuse...

I remember this sale, you owned this one a while, no big takers yet?

I'd several decent offers to date but I'll wait for the right buyer to knock my door.

Within the last week, sold 2 names.

1) .com domain with keyword "hemp" for $300. 2 years old. Sold via negotiation.

2) .com domain with keyword "CBD" for $700. Just over 1 year old. Buy it now via afternic.

Yep, I agree with @Keith. CBD & Hemp are definitely great keywords. I wish I had more.
