The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
In some cases asking and i some cases reduced price... We price it low for quick sales..
How did you reduce the price? did they ask for the reduction before u did or u initiated it and presented it to them?

Maybe the buyer still hasn't changed the nameservers and it was the seller who put the $2500 price on Undeveloped.

Well, the seller said he sold it for $3,500, not $2,500. That would be unusual for a posted $2,500 price to end up as a $3,500 sale.

How does that commission share work? Never seen that before, as godddy would want them to use their checkout?

Commission was 15% as collected by Uniregistry. I do not know the private arrangement between Uniregistry and GoDaddy.

Uni would charge its 15% to seller and GD would charge buyer an extra fee of 20% on top of fixed $69.99 ($49.99 for Discount Club) to engage their brokers regardless of outcome.

You listed the domain on Uniregistry market and it was sold on GoDaddy, right?
Im confused with the brokers thing.
Did the buyer see your domain on Uniregistry market, he contacted the uni brokers, they contacted Godaddy brokers? Uni would still charge 15% and GD 20%, did you pay the $69 fee?

The name does not sell on GD.

What happens is that if the name is not listed at GD, but you do look up the specific name, GD will offer you to help to get it for $69.99 +20% of the purchase price.

Then, GD will contact you directly, but in this case they either couldn't or the owner directed them to handle it through uniregistry.

So, if the sale price was $5000, owner got $4250, uni got $750, buyer paid $5000+$1000 (GD 20%) + $69.99 (GD fixed fee) = $6069.99.

Effectively, owner got only about 70% of what the buyer paid.

The Uni broker is a former GoDaddy broker. When the GoDaddy broker got the lead, he contacted his old buddy at Uni after seeing it available at Uni. We told them our minimum acceptable amount and they got the deal done. GoDaddy collected the funds from the buyer and transferred $5,000 of it to Uni, who kept 15% and then disbursed the difference to us. We are happy campers.
