Flippa is charging $ 25 for listing a domain name. Paying more is not a problem provided they give good exposures to the name and better search optimization in their system. But the fact is by paying $ 25 you are not even get a 10 Views or a couple of Watchers. I can say proudly that NamePros is many times better than Flippa as far as RESPONSE is concerned. We can sell more domain names here than Flippa.

Moreover, they deleted the comments section; thereby virtually you cannot send any message during the listing period. What a insane decision indeed.

I really have high regard for Flippa, its cordial and prompt staff for their instant services, but why the management is silent with regard to so many criticisms against it with regard to increase in listing charges, curtailment of service, low response rate etc?

Domain name industry is going on a tough period these days, in this situation Flippa's decision to hike the listing fees is really ridiculous.

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
That's ridiculous. It seems like Flippa doesn't care so much about Domain investors in my opinion.

I am having my domain RiyadhRentals.com running for 7 days auction on Flippa using the $65 package instead of $25.
It was mentioned that they it will sent to over 100000 users and something for exposure.
So far has got 96 views in 4 days. I was hoping to get much more views with that upgrade.
Also no comments section. That sucks!!
Very disappointed with Flippa this time.

They don't care the domain business at all.(n)
Domain listings are default excluded from Flippa search.:hungover:

Did you pay $25 first, then $65 ($90 total)? Or $65 directly ($65 total).
Because I think before it was 10$ first, then $59 or $69 for featured upgrade.

I think you have to understand that adding domains to search results might yield 10x more results.
Perhaps not exactly what the online business buyers want to see. Flippa was created for those buyers.
Now imagine you are management and you see your marketplace being OVERFLOODED, perhaps (maybe) 90%, by domainers that post a lot and don't sell much...
you might just put a $25 fee.
If there is a $25 fee to list your domain, $65 to list a featured domain, to me its positive, keeps things curated. Makes it easier for buyers to find good domains. Might yield higher sale ratio.

@Windoms Directly $65 payment. ($65 total)

Not bad. Could kill Sedo. (Sedo is curated but I think they're in shit in regard to sales).

On Flippa, I think 9$ was for listing an auction. Then the 60$ for the featured upgrade.
I think you could also list for free but no auction right?
Do you still have the ability to list for free (without auction)? if you ever had that ability.

i don't think there is an option to list for free on Flippa now. However, i am not sure though

There is no option to submit domains for free now. I think they decided to kill domain listings and pay more attention to business listings. Hence the price is.

Did you have that option before?

I think they just want to keep a good marketplace. For flippa's online business customers who visit the domain category, its best they find serious domains rather than ''stuff''.
Lots of ''stuff''.

Their decision to disable comment section for listing defy any logic.

9 to list was already bad for what u got

so we can all do math for 25

imo flippa is a dead end..id not be suprised if they close shop in next few years. their approach is just wrong

Yes, I have.

They could go more loyal way (for example by approving domains), but they desided to go lucrative way.

Listing in the classified section is free (probably for old accounts). Except no one sees your listing.
I have over 100 domains "sitting" there.

Don't use flippa. They will trick you into thinking you are buying some big upgrade, when in fact it is barely anything. Then when you buy it, you might not really get what you paid for. They won't tell you while you're paying, but upgrades don't last for the whole auction. See this email I JUST received today:

flippascam.png

z88MC6k

It is like you are paying $60 to see a featured movie, then halfway though they come and kick you out of your seat saying "sir, you have to leave, more people have been paying to see this movie". SCAMMERS. No one wants to pay for half of something...that's useless!

Their support is an idiot bunch, inept, unhelpful nightmare.

It is the first time I tried a premium listing there. First I request a title change to 'portfolio of domains' (rather than the 1 listed by default: u can't make your own title), that removed my premium - they didn't give it back. support said 'it should be there if you paid paid', that's all...he didn't even check when I told him it's not showing up.

Next I relist after another support person said I could get my upgrade back, and when I did, that guy said I couldn't have it, so they applied it finally halfway though LOL! wow..wasting my $...but not the end...

Next I get non paying bidder and much more troubles involved with that. After 2 of 4 days my premium was removed again. Support send email above.

Basically, they ruin all my auctions by adding premium late or removing my premium, then trying to say it doesn't last the duration or whatever. ALL because I request my title be changed at the beginning, that's what started this!

Now I have wasted 4 months on a profile of 8 domains. That is a lot of time from registration gone. They are wasting my time and $ totally. Non paying bidder, no refund given for that. It's so terrible. They don't understand time is of some essence..don't care, u can get non paying bidder 10x I bet LOL.

Flippa is charging $ 25 for listing a domain name

I have never been able to justify the $9 fee to list, when they also help themselves to a big portion of the ending price, BUT MY BIGGEST REASON FOR NOT USING FLIPPA....

...I am not convinced it is real. There's a lot of obvious manipulation on most auctions, and as a seller, there's significant skepticism that 80% or more of the revenue credited to Flippa domain sales is imaginary. Worse, even, I can't see any reason for Flippa to discourage or not participate themselves, even, in embellishing revenue claims or fictionalizing transactions.

Surely, the larger the number, the more favorable attention they will receive.

Don't you know that flippa focus on business websites and mobile apps that already generate income??? they don't care about domain names now. they generate 1000s of dollars from business websites and mobile apps sold than in domain names.

I'm sure that good quality names will continue to sell on Flippa.

But they'll be a much better deal for the buyers than sellers.

The more I think about their new roll out, the more certain I am that it will fail inside of 18 months.

Besides, the main payment option is Flippa Escrow now?

Way too limited in this day and age.

Perhaps Freelancer can buy them like they did with Escrow.com.

I bet they do too, they are such shady scammers. U buy one upgrade then they offer more that you didn't know existed, they offer the ones you THOUGHT you got. That's how it's setup really. Then these upgrades don't even last the whole listing! WTF u think u buy premium for half the listing until you are 'bumped off'? They sure didn't tell me that when I bought it. Also, if you 'win' a name, a few days later you might of not really won it, because someone bid higher and seller didn't accept it?! LOL such the big scam here. Needs looked into.

Isn't it strange over time we saw these certain people pumping flippa the past few years? These few people make all this money from flippa exclusively, then they just disappear. Why do they give up making a killing / promoting with flippa if they are making so much money? Here's 1 funny example
It's not fishy? There are more example even on here on namepros, of flippa 'gods' that just up and quit domaining while making this killing @ flippa. Can't be too out in the open with it tho, cuz would get caught being too bold.

How many stupid fool gold rushes happen on flippa that never panned out elsewhere? Seems they pump some dumb thing and it's only trending at flippa. very suspicious now. Seems now something like this could have alternate motive to pump flippa.

We must know it is run rampant with scams, and they are happily facilitating this. Has anyone looked how many 2 month old websites that are nothing but cookie-cutter blogs/e-com that are autofilled / plagiarized content..literally 1 day for anyone to make then claims all this traffic and income, $1000's per month 90% organic? That doesn't happen. They are using paid traffic or whatever to get that and not disclosing. These are dozens a day on there.

So this is fun.
Someone is posting on Facebook (not public page) that Flippa is offering 3 month listings for domain and websites for 25 dollars.
But, the if the auction is shorter than that, say the average 7-14 days, then the 3 months listing is OVER when the auction first ends.
Option to relist for 12 dollars and if it does not sell then, then back to 25 dollars.
So gone are the days of free relists apparently.

Yes, I noticed it. When I had 14 days listing by paying $ 25, they did not relist it free after 14 days, instead they asked me to pay 50% fee. I did not relist it.

How greedy and also advertising 3 months for 25 without a disclaimer that ending auction early forfeits the 3 month listing is really bad.
