Just wondering what the general thoughts are about whether the recent trend to legalize marijuana will boost the prices of pot-related domains?

An even better evaluation tool is to look at what actually sells and note the registration date. You’ll find that names registered in the last year don’t sell, or sell very little against domains registered years ago.

Would also be interesting to get the average number of days on market for names that sell. I think all but the best names require exposure across both time an venue.

Where I see the metrics of domain sales isn't in how many days on the market or even broker ( secondary market ) . But more about percentage of permitts ( new startups ) issued and then match that to domain sales. In both two word seo based .coms and in brandables.

Leaving garbage aside, the real potential on decent domains is a unknown.

Few permitts have been issued; it's a 2019 thing and beyond.

I follow this closely and find its almost impossible to gauge the future of startups in this industry. Short of saying it's going to be alot, and billions of sales.

Yeah HashOil has been making the rounds. A 6/14 sale has it at $565. When it dropped in 2016 I regged it and sold it for $750 on sedo a couple months later but that sale isn't showing up. I just found it up for sale on Afternic atm for $395 with $195 min offer. Maybe buyer is regretting purchase?

Not that bad of an idea but I don't really want to pay more than 100 and if seller is legit then they would probably come back with 300 if I min offer. I might do a little more research but hashoil still only has low xxx com registrations. Compare that with cbdoil with mid xxxx. Plus I blew all my money on hand regs lol.

When it comes to investing higher amounts I admit I'm not that great at it. I consider things like it has its own Wikipedia page - that's good. It's a product and cannabis business will only grow - another plus. But if I spend 300 I'd like to sell for 1250 or so and that would be a new high for it. But I also feel like it might sit unsold for several years.
