Just wondering what the general thoughts are about whether the recent trend to legalize marijuana will boost the prices of pot-related domains?

I have some marijuana/cannabis related domains, could somebody help me with appraisal them?
Better somebody from Canada or who understand in this niche.

Because I have been noticing it a lot in my medical marijuana research, have a feeling..that CBN (Cannabinol)
might become a new "buzzword" like CBD

"CBN is actually known to generate powerful sedative effects, especially if combined with THC. This is actually one of the most obvious effects of CBN and research has shown that 5mg of the stuff is as effective as 10mg of diazepam and other similar pharmaceutical sedatives. It is often thought that CBN contributes to the drowsy and sleep-inducing effects of indica strains as they tend to have higher concentrations of this cannabinoid."

.

I know cbd is hot and hemp. I personally don't see anyone using this in new Jersey to brand. To me it looks stupid and limiting when people are using both cbd and thc to have fun. Canna, Leaf, and fun weed names and brandables. This will be a recreational state.
My thoughts... CBD mainly medical, (generally speaking, passes a lot of legal laws)
THC mainly recreational (but can be used as a relaxant or stimulate)

Hemp should be popular in agricultural States (California,Iowa, Nebraska, Texas, Minnesota, Illinois, Kansas, Wisconsin, Indiana, North Carolina, Ohio & South Dakota)

Out of the 11, how many were random 2-3 word, crappy hand registrations?

All 2 word, none are 3. Of the 11, 2 were registered years ago and 9 were aftermarket purchases.

Leaflink.com

Nice too see a domain and branding idea work out, that I helped with. 60mil in sales last month alone.

The conversation I had over Leaf was in 2015 with Zach ( Ceo on the video). Way Way ahead of time. Leafly was the only reference then in a leaf brand. A few others but smaller ones.

Would be tough to find a potential end user that wants a 'kinda brandable' name for their business.

Leave it in the pond.

To each their own (hand reg vs aftermarket, investor vs collector), I get it.

But I have one question for anybody that might have some input..

For those that hand reg just about anything available, how do you convince your potential buyers that they shouldn't just hand reg a name that is available? If they are willing to allow a 3/10 quality name to represent their business, wouldn't they also be ok with a 2/10 quality name that they can register themselves for ~$10?

extract from an interesting article

The revised projections take into consideration the outcome of four state ballot initiatives:

  • Michigan passed Proposal 1, legalizing recreational use and making Michigan the fifth largest legal U.S. cannabis market; combined with medical, annual sales are projected to reach $1.9 billion in total legal sales by 2025.
  • Missouri passed Amendment 2, legalizing state-wide medical cannabis; resulting annual retail sales are projected to reach $111 million by 2025.
  • Utah voters passed Proposition 2, legalizing medical cannabis; annual retail sales are projected to reach $63 million by 2025.
  • North Dakota voted down Measure 3, which would have allowed adults to grow, consume and possess as much cannabis as they want, without government oversight and without state taxation; annual recreational sales could have reached $67.5 million by 2025.
