A Speculator? A Creator? A Developer? A Investor? A Artist? A Domainer? or none of the aforementioned? I'm about to register a couple of domain names that clarifies exactly who I am, and I'm proud of it. Having hand registered 1,500 domains in the last 12 months I've finally determined I'm a Domain Originator and not a a domainer (which still isn't a word btw). One would have thought that leaders in this industry would have clarified this by now?

Originator defined: a person who creates or initiates something.

Domainer
defined: No Definition....sad:xf.sick:

I've been creating names for businesses all my life, and it wasn't until recently that I started creating domain names. There's really little difference imho, and I feel I'm getting better at it every day.

So I'm a Domain Originator similar to a Mortgage Originator. I create internet domain names for .coms etc. I also recently originated the name DomainOrigination(.)com to coincide with DomainOriginator(.)com. Google shows that both Wiki and Investopedia have a page description for "Mortgage Originator" but none for Domainer or Domain Originator:xf.frown:

For those of you who create domains like me (keeping in mind every domain was created by someone), now you can proudly say you're a Domain Originator adding credibility to your profession:xf.wink:

If you create domains like me, share your profession with the world. I know I will.

Crappy domains:xf.rolleyes:? I think not, but what do I know....I'm just a newbie who hasn't a clue:xf.grin:

Cheers Everyone!

Ok folks I am a Domain Terminator. I grab them tight and then they drop.

Well I was going to say "I'll be back" but I'm not, I'm unsubscribing from this thread because it is will be just another rerun of the endless competition of "I'm a better domainer than you." No money in that.

It really doesn't matter what you think, but what my customers and end users think.

Okay so now we know how you define this term “domain originator.”

How do you define the word “customer” in that you have yet to sell a single domain?

A "customer" is like a chiropractor who has purchased three domains from me, a realtor who has purchased two domains from me, and a mortgage originator who is a friend and investor.

Why would you tell a bold faced LIE xynames? Does it make you feel like more of a man to do that in cyberspace? Stay tuned:xf.rolleyes:

So you're a lawyer parsing words from over four months ago:xf.rolleyes:. You should really know better, but I would like to thank you for the publicity. Maybe you should sue me:xf.wink:

So you admitted 4 months ago you have yet to sell one domain.Okay, now you hint that something changed in the past 4 months ? Fine, but until you post the name of one domain you have sold in the past 4 months, nobody should take you or your "stratagies" seriously.

Additionally, when people post some criticism of your techniques, it is not "publicity". I really don't know why you start these threads, only to be proven to have bad ideas and you still have no proof of any sales.

Until you post ONE sale with the usual info, you are just hand regging for fun. Nothing different than the guy who comes here with a dozen terrible domains and learns nothing about the business.
ps: "So I'm a Domain Originator similar to a Mortgage Originator. I create internet domain names for .coms etc. " - Not the same thing at all. :xf.rolleyes:

That way you can create your own dictionary too and call yourself word-originator..!! A person who creates word.

IMO Any kind of creation would be justified only when it benefits a person..!!

There is no pride in creating something new unless it fulfills a purpose..!!

So, ask yourself, what purpose are those 1500 domains serving currently?!?

Doesn't matter whether you are a domainer or domain investor or domain originator..Are you a domain seller?? Do your domain sells?? Because in the long term, we all are here for this specific purpose..!!
Oh trust me....ALL my domains serve a purpose like IncredibleFlorida(.)com that was a spin from IncredibleIndia.com that's in use and is appraised at GD for $7,264. You are from India aren't you? I understand Florida is not India, but it's economy is almost as big. btw, I've asked myself "what purpose those 1,500 domains are serving currently"? Everything I do fulfills a purpose Satyajit....just not your purpose:xf.wink:

I ran a check using the 50 US states. You can still register 41 of them with your "incredible" prefix. How many did you hand reg ? Nine ?

Interesting that after more than 30 years, any "domain originator" could have bought them, yet these domains are still available, its almost like nobody seems to care.

That's just.... incredible.....:xf.rolleyes:

"Credit Control Corporation", "Inquisitor Investigations", "Make Something Happen". These are real names of real companies that I started, named, bought, sold or merged."

Did you have have a website for any of these companies? If so, what domain name was used? it doesnt appear any of the quoted (in .com) were ever developed into a real site? Looks like a generic wordpress theme got added to makesometinghappen in 2014 - but never a real site.

Just curious.

Good News as well, after 30 years of owning makesomethinghappen - there is no trade mark on it, so you can get it protected: Looks like the previous TM holders all abandoned it.

GD appraisal seems to be a common topic here. Can we please stop citing it...like, as a community? Lowly domainers rely on these appraisals to try selling domains for the low x,xxx appraisal value while spamming potential endusers via email.

Personally, I'd like to sell my domains for high xx,xxx, and wouldn't particularly like a buyer citing an automated appraisal, as if it has any reasoning or reliability for determining value. However, as long as domainers are citing these appraisal tools, we're suggesting these tools reflect shred of reality to the value of a domain. It's hurting US ALL more than anything.

I'm not going to spend much time humoring you DnameAgame, but each one of these business I started, named and operated from their beginning. Credit Control Corporation I founded in Virginia Beach, Virginia in 1973, and sold it in 1985 before the first .com. Here it is today; http://www.credcontrol.com/. When I sold it, it was doing 500K in revenues annually and the owner who is still a friend 33 years later is doing 10 Million in fee revenue annually. I came up with name in 1973, and if there were an internet then, I surely would have had a registered domain. Moving on to Inquisitor Investigations...i started that business in 1978 and sold the assets of that business to a competitor in 2008. I had a website for that business, but frankly I don't know what happened to it, however I still renew it every year because I believe it's a great name. Finally, I originated the name MakeSomethingHappen at Network Solutions Septermber 1, 2001 a little over 17 years ago. I never developed the name, however my wife and I have been using it for our personal email addresses for the past 17+ years, and it's appraised at GD for $2,922.

With regards to trademarking "MakeSomethingHappen", I never had a desire to do so, however I have trademarked other names before I ever learned about DdomainGame.

Anything else you want to know just send me a PM and I'll be glad to humor you. Who knows, you may even learn something from the old fart who has been in the name business since probably before you were born. Go ahead...knock yourself out:xf.rolleyes:

JayT...obviously you didn't read the benefits I get from a GD appraisal. You certainly aren't going to convince me they're worthless, but then again you and I have absolutely nothing in common....thank God:xf.grin:

No thanks, this thread and your stories are getting boring.

But the answer you meant to give to my question was :

" NO I NEVER USED ANY OF THE NAMES FOR A BUSINESS I OWNED, RENTED, OR SOLD. IN FACT, ALTHOUGH I JUST SAID I DID - IT WAS NOT THE TRUTH AND NONE OF THESE NAME I QUOTED WERE EVER ACTUALLY USED FOR ANY BUSINESS."

Sorry for the caps but my "Bulloney translator" is stuck on caps.

Night Pops!

Brian...it's easy enough to check whether or not I owned any of these businesses. And to think there was a time we were planning on getting together in the DC/Annapolis area to discuss our common interests. I'm thanking God right now that never came to fruition....you have a lot to learn young man:xf.rolleyes:

HAHHAA you are so intellectual and cunning in your responses, but never bother to actually respond.

You are on a domainer site? you are talking about the domain empire you have and all the names and connections and business sold blah blha blah.

go read your own post - are we talking about selling businesses (outside of domains at a time when domain mains didn't really matter?) no. and you were not either.... until i called you out as a liar.

you didnt use any of those domains, ever. You didnt sell any of them ever, you didnt even blog on any of them ever.

They way you sound is : You had the first bait and tackle store on the beach in 1960 - and sold it for a million dollars - so you are a domain name expert? what? how is that relevant to any part of anything in this discussion about domain names.

specifically the domain names you bought, sold, and "originated (so goofy)". and the answer IS ACTUALLY:

I DID NOT TELL THE TRUTH AND NONE OF THE NAMES, I SAID EARLIER IN THIS STORY WERE, HAVE ACTUALLY EVER EVEN BEEN USED.

Sorry Bulluoney translator cap lock button still stuck, darn.

I am also getting a little worried about the domain industry in general, thanks to you calling it out daily!

I see that anytime any Domainer doesn't agree with you "They have a lot to Learn" & you seem to be the only person with any intelligence in the entire industry - according to you - and the only one who can advise any Domainer in the industry.

No one else really has any relevant experience in any field, anywhere in the world, - that you dont know more about . More Specifically: All of Healthcare, Marketing, Printing, Cannabis, GTLDS, Business, Finance, Human Resources, Internet, telecommunications, Branding in general, Did I miss any?

We are in big trouble when only 1 person, Bulloney, knows everything and we just "ALL HAVE A LOT TO LEARN"

Brian...in case you hadn't noticed, I started this thread titled; What are You? A Domainer or a Domain Originator? It probably went way over your head:xf.frown:, but names of businesses I've started over the years are examples of kinds of names I'm capable of originating. I've originated 1,500 names over 12 months, some good and some maybe not so good. Regardless of what you think, I'm getting better and better at the name game every day. From your profile you claim to have a background in healthcare and finance. I do too Brian, and have originated industry specific domains for both the healthcare industry and the finance industry (specifically loans and mortgages). I'm dead serious about thanking God that our meeting never came to fruition....most of my partnerships have been very successful, but there's a snow balls chance in xxxx that ours would have been successful. Thanks for showing your hand Brian...it probably saved us both a lot of time and money:xf.grin:....time for you to move on like you said three posts ago.

HAHAHA:

See Previous Post, understand message, try to tell the truth in the future and maybe someone, someday, will be able to take anything you say seriously.

I give up, Bulloney, people who think they are superior and like to talk down to, and around to, and treat others like children, who show no respect for anyone else's opinion - is a lost cause as far as I'm concerned. And you, Balloney, can help yourself.

You are not respectful, professional, or even slightly considerate OR even answer a valid question.

Keep patting your self on the back for not meeting me - but it was me who never responded to your PM. I read a few of your posts and was shocked, and did not want to be associated with you in any way. Thats why you never heard back from me WHEWWWWWW you showed me!

Which is why I have pretty much avoided engaging you - but you got on my nerves tonight - congrats.

You win, but look pretty foolish doing so, at least in my opinion. AND yes I know, Bulloney, MY OPINION DOESNT MATTER ANYWAY, & " I HAVE A LOT TO LEARN"

Thanks again, night

In the field of psychology, the Dunning–Kruger effect is a cognitive bias in which people of low ability have illusory superiority and mistakenly assess their cognitive ability as greater than it is.
