Hello, Namespro community members!

I am reaching out to fellow dot CA domain holders, as I am seeking to join the CIRA board.

I was previously very active on this forum, in regard to the dot CA domain, and as a CIRA board member I would continue to engage fellow Canadian domain holders and registrars here, seeking input and feedback from you.

I need some support to continue to the next stage and would ask that you read my CIRA nominee profile and if you feel I am worthy of your endorsement, please take a moment and push a couple of buttons to do so.

All CIRA members received a Voter ID and PIN from CIRA for this purpose (the intitial nominee support stage).

Please see the CIRA website cira.ca > board-of-directors-election > election-results

I am on the list of member nominees, with a link to my nominee profile and statement.

Thanks very much!

Chris

Hey, Chris. A very nice endorsement request letter here (y)
One question, though: what's with the New Member profile?

It has been a while since I was active, and I also wanted to make sure that my user name reflected my actual name as nominee! I tried to find a way to change my original username but could not find a way to do so. Hope that is helpful!

Hello Christopher .. and welcome to NamePros! :)

I think you can contact NP admins to get your name changed (I think they allow one change .. it's written somewhere I'm pretty sure .. lol). What was your former username?

I guess the most important question is .. What sort of experience do you have as a domainer or in the industry?

And if you really have time .. what changes would you like to pursue as a board member?

Best of luck to you in your nomination and in the world of domains! :)

Thanks for the questions!

I have been involved in domains from the early days, and I especially believe in dot CA domains for Canadians. Personally I have been more focused on the development side rather than just buying or selling the names, although that marketplace aspect of the domain industry is very important as well.

I am from the Canadian North, and we have great challenges up here, especially with slow and expensive connectivity. I am interested in contributing to CIRA's efforts to provide greater digital access to everyone in Canada, as one example.

Hope this is helpful and thank you!

Hello!

Interesting description profile.

Welcome to NamePros.

Welcome, if you want to do something, eliminate the restriction to have CA residence in order to register one. I have my eyes on some, but I cannot register since I am in Europe.

Thanks, all. Unfortunately I engaged this forum a little late and I did not advance to the next stage of the CIRA election. However, I am happy it brought me back and I am going to take the time to catch up on all of my old favourite threads here!

account closed so dont know what happened to our future board member.
@Support Team, does auto closed mean member closed it, or moderator did?

The moderators helped me change my username on my old account!

Unfortunately, I did not move on to the second stage of the election (you need 20 CIRA members to do the support process move to the final stage) as I thought of this forum just a little too late (w/ only hours to spare).

Happy to be back kicking the tires here again, though!
