Hi, I want your opinion on a deal.

A broker from Japan approached me for one of my domain. He told me that one of his client is interested in buying my domain for a good price but his client want to buy the domain with valid certification in Japanese Language so first I should buy a certification from a link he sent.
http://services.authorize-japan.net/

He said :
  • Our commission is only 5 %. The commission is divided between you and the buyer and paid after you get the money.
  • The buyer offers 15 BTC (Bitcoin). If it's ok let's proceed. You will be paid Bitcoins/Ethereum, wire transfer or Western Union.
  • The payment to you will be made via escrow service to protect both parties during the transaction.
  • Do you have a certificate for your domain in English and Japanese? It's required by the buyer and his escrow service. They must be sure your domain has no restrictions or problems with law and trademarks in Japan. He won't proceed without it.

The certificate must include the following to be accepted by my buyer:
- Trademark infringement verification (the buyer does not want to lose the domain after purchase because it has problems with trademarks).
- The domain must not be pledged or sold to third parties (verification of restrictions).
- The certificate must be up to date (issued during last 30 days)
- Copy of the certificate in Japanese (required by the buyer because he does not speak English).
- The certification agency must be authorized by my buyer and his bank.

We asked him if GoDaddy or Sedo appraisal certificates will work for him. Now we are awaiting for his answer.

I do believe that this is kind of a scam where the scammer force the seller to purchase certification which is cost $259 USD or something like that.

What do you think? Please give your opinion. Thanks

I agree with you.
I asked him to send a token money so that i can buy the certificate and he said that if the buyer does not buy the domain, the certificate cost will be refunded.

IF he wants to make his commission tell him to pay for the certificate then raise his commission fees to cover the cost. Don't think you will hear from him again after this!

When you buy the certificate, they will not even bother to reply. These are tactics to lure you to purchase the certificate.

Just ask him to pay himself and deduct from the payment he will send to you :D

Yeah i am sure about it. I've asked him to send 1 bitcoin as advance and I'll push the domain name to his escrow account and once it is verified the buyer can deposit the remaining bitcoins. :)
