I predict much boredom will be had which will force me to start betting on stupid markets like "how many corners in the first ten mins", and the like. Going to be very expensive lol.

I do predict Spain to win the world cup but German will stand high chances if they do reach quarter finals since i do expect them to meet tough opponents in group stages compared to Spain

I predict that Denmark ends up winning :xf.grin: 15 matches in a row without defeat and beat Mexico 2-0 last week

Congrats to the US, Canada & Mexico on today's winning bid.

Russia 2018, may the best win it.

If the German machine is at its best, its theirs.

I'm going to be torn at this World Cup. I'm Scottish but my son was born in England so its only fair that he gets to support England and as this will be his first World Cup I don't want him to hear his dad shouting support for whoever is playing England (if you don't get this then watch Braveheart). So it looks like I may need to cheer on England for the first time in my life.

Spanish Football Federation sacked their coach Julen Lopetegui yesterday because he signed up for Real Madrid... Dumb thing to do just before the games start, even though Spain has a great team. We'll see if it has any effect on the team

Fernando Hierro, a former Real Madrid player, is the new coach

Me too... so will be rooting for my Portugal, the underdogs that surprised everyone and infuriated the French 2 years ago to become Euro 2016 champs, in France... Força Portugal

Underdogs? Portugal comes as European champs and is number 4 on the Fifa list, so they must be among the favorites to go far

bet on France as my girlfriend supports them (the France football shirt will be delivered to her soon) and as per past events such teams usually win the key tournament title ))

True, but before they became Euro champs they were underdogs. Actually they have a pretty good team at the moment and an excellent coach (same one from Euro 2016) so with a bit of luck they could reach the last 4...

We play Spain on Friday, so it's a tough game for starters. Spain is considered a slightly better team, but we have CR7... my hometown boy...

Exciting match that I look forward to see and I with Portugal there - I'm from Denmark and we do not have the best experiences with Spain - We are starting out on Saturday against Peru

Without his highness Lord Bendtner, Denmark won't win.

Actually I remember quite a number of years ago, in 1992, when Denmark won the Euro.

The amazing thing was that they had qualified only after Yogoslavia was disqualified, as a result of the civil war in their country. That Danish team was trully underdogs...

I reckognize one player on this 1992 pic... Peter Schmeichel, their great goalkeeper...

We was truely underdogs - Without Peter Schmeichel, we had not become European champs in 1992 - He was voted the world's best goalkeeper in 92 and 93 - His son Casper Schmeichel is our goalkeeper now :xf.smile:

I'm old enough to remember Eusébio from Wold Cup in 1966 :xf.grin:
