Good luck with your sales!

That's a great sale for a VirtualRealityKW domain.

There is no doubt that VirtualReality + keyword domains are getting more and more in demand. The keyword has to be relevant though.

well compared to those who sell on sedo or godaddy (Which would be a very large part of all domain sales)... its actually very low... or the lowest fee.... but if you just do your own sale lander free inquiries.. and then use epik escrow or another similar one.. then yes, this is about double of that. I'm used to paying 20% fee on gd auctions for most my sales... so halfprice of that is a great improvement. ;)

This part i like a lot!

Congrats anyway, cool sale!

thanks. yes mass payment is great... gd auctions does it.. sedo etc..

this was my first above.com lander sale actually so I am not used to their escrow methods and payout... but all went quite smoothly.. they are also a registrar.. like godaddy.. so after sale/transfer the domain is locked for 60 days against transfer.. so extra protection is always nice for sales!

that being said, even though I did not do payout yet.. for now they just deposited sale proceeds to my account... and this is my first sale there.. I did double and triple check with their support that indeed they do mass payments at no extra fee. the answer is yes, but they only do it once per month (end of month).. otherwise, if you want your money faster, you need to pay the paypal receive fee.. 4-5% usually.

all in all, my first above.com sale experience was a good one.. like I said, it sure beats 15%-20% sale fees at sedo/godaddy etc.. though if you set things up at say epik market/lander you only pay 5% fee there.. and also mass payment withdrawl... at any time of month too! its just that I prefer landers that do not obligate buyers to create account to make first offer.. imo it can be a bit of a drawback for buyers.. especially those who are not sure to want your domain.. or where the sales are smaller amounts..

jmo

cheers

You can ignore the ROI on the individual sales above because it's misleading. I've been running a .CO hand-regs portfolio on the side for about a year now. I'm still spending circa $1.5k/month on expiring/deletes and it's making 2.5x that on average. My time investment is around 1 to 2 hours per day. The sell-through rate on the portfolio averages around 2% of inventory.

I'll try to write up a summary of the experiment in more detail within the coming weeks. I'm not advocating for it to be replicated as a formula, but just as something to learn from. There is no magic or secret sauce - just trial and error... plus a tiny bit of brute force with the numbers.

If you haven't read it already, please check out the thread linked below:
https://www.namepros.com/threads/almost-a-decade-of-domaining.1056328/
Could you please guide? When it's Sedo, what seems to be working better - Sedo Parking with link to sale page, Sedo offer page redirect, or a simple 3rd party landing page with a plain Sedo listing ?

Casino//Coin//.co.uk - $500
BIN via Undeveloped.com
Bought here on NP auction last month for $5 I think.

WP//author//.com - $175
Flippa auction. Undersold IMO.
Bought from namesilo expire last year for around $25.

Keyword//Planner//.io - $300
Flippa auction. Held for a year and sold when about to expire.
Bought from name.com expired list last year for $80.

In the last few months, lost at least three sales above $500 due to offer-counter-offer. Now I think maybe because the domain was "not-strong-enough". Clients just keep vanishing after their first offer.

I have mostly shifted to BINs now.

A small sale from a couple of months ago:

M/y//B/r/a/n/d/./co - $250
Purchase price: Reg fee ($8.88)
Hold time: 1 day
Sale type: Inbound (Bodis)
Sale completed through the Namecheap marketplace (10% commission for a $225 net)

Registered right after it dropped on the 3rd of Jan. The next day an inbound offer of $200 came through the Bodis lander. After a few exchanged messages it became quite clear that the chap was not willing to go much higher, so I settled on $250.
Undersold IMO, but for a two-word .co handreg with a day of holding time, not that bad.
