^ The same can be said for most domains as well. I think for anyone new in the game this is a very important thing to understand that a lot of people miss somehow.

I'm not knocking the value or importance of these types of sales, but 99 times out of 100, its from someone who owns a large portfolio who can afford to sit on a large pile of domains for years.

Which is a feat most can't endure, or even comprehend fully, for that matter. The turnaround is staggering, so news features such as this is somewhat misleading to newcomers; compounded by the hype of "If he can sell that, then i can sell 300 of these very quickly and get rich."

It doesn't work that way, unfortunately.

If you invest in long domains, sellable pickings' are slim. There are no low hanging fruits. Even average ones are hard to find unearthed.

You have to be ahead of the game and practically know the future, or just have very deep pockets to play that game these days.

I will never say this - I even believe that the most valuable domain is a domain which has 63 (highest possible number of characters at theleft beside the dot of the TLD) characters.​

Every registered domain can have value, no matter how short / long.

It's a trap a lot of new domain investors fall into early on (admittedly some never evolve out of it).

Some never learn that the end user is the one driving the domain aftermarket, and end users aren't looking for one person's creative/wacky idea for what makes a good name. They want names that pertain to their business, and that have real marketing value.

The ones that stubbornly try to shirk this practical notion will learn their lesson one day. I guess it's all a matter of how much disposable income they have.

Only very focused / patient people will step into it.

Because they are aware of the fact that there are people on this planet who have so deep pockets that they simply don't know what to do with all their moneyyy
They have a lot of houses / villas / castles with luxury bunkers, they have any car they want, they have private jets / helicopters, mega yachts, high amounts of gold, luxury watches, jewlery, super expensive artworks…

...so to think that there is no possibility that they will also consider to buy such highest domains, is crazyyy

There is an extension called .management, smart keyword is also registered with this tld. Not sure if it is the same owner.

That's exactly my point. Quality exists, but don't rapid-fire-register a ton hoping for one sale.

You need to have a buyer in mind, and a fiscal plan as well.
