Most 15 letter domains aren't that clever!

I'm just saying, for new people in the game, that this doesn't mean that suddenly it's a good idea to register 2 or 3 word domains and expect the same results!

Definitely not... It's all in the name.

Even if its a great combination, you should prepare yourself for a couple, or even many years of renewals, before a decent offer is made.

Nice sale either way!

Any idea on original price? Hold time?

^ The same can be said for most domains as well. I think for anyone new in the game this is a very important thing to understand that a lot of people miss somehow.

I'm not knocking the value or importance of these types of sales, but 99 times out of 100, its from someone who owns a large portfolio who can afford to sit on a large pile of domains for years.

Which is a feat most can't endure, or even comprehend fully, for that matter. The turnaround is staggering, so news features such as this is somewhat misleading to newcomers; compounded by the hype of "If he can sell that, then i can sell 300 of these very quickly and get rich."

It doesn't work that way, unfortunately.

What is the average length?
No wise cracks, please.

i think those who may say this, mean more than 15 chars.
and posibly more than 2 words too.

If you invest in long domains, sellable pickings' are slim. There are no low hanging fruits. Even average ones are hard to find unearthed.

You have to be ahead of the game and practically know the future, or just have very deep pockets to play that game these days.

Who says long domains have no value?
Only people who don't ask themselve whyyy it is possible to register long domains will say this.

I will never say this - I even believe that the most valuable domain is a domain which has 63 (highest possible number of characters at theleft beside the dot of the TLD) characters.
Every registered domain can have value, no matter how short / long.
It simply depends on the name itself.

Noone is ever going to type in 63 chars domain name. It's never going to be in demand.

Some other crazy hobbyist might pay a coupe hundred bucks for that, but I'm afraid to say that that's realistically the best you can ever hope for.

I don't know what domains you have in your head but obviously not the same as I have, otherwise you wouldn't have this viewww

Maybe you are a crazyyy hobbyist who can't imagine that some super rich people will pay super huge amounts for super long domains.

Ok, I'll bite.

How many 63 char domains have you sold because they were in such high demand?

Honestly, what's your highest offer to date?

I'll wait.

My advice to newbies: Don't be this ^ guy.

You're going to lose a ton of money.

You're going to lose a ton of money.

It's a trap a lot of new domain investors fall into early on (admittedly some never evolve out of it).

Some never learn that the end user is the one driving the domain aftermarket, and end users aren't looking for one person's creative/wacky idea for what makes a good name. They want names that pertain to their business, and that have real marketing value.

The ones that stubbornly try to shirk this practical notion will learn their lesson one day. I guess it's all a matter of how much disposable income they have. :)

I've sold longer for more. It really just depends on the quality of the domain name

At any rate, SmartManagement is a great name. I've sold a few 15+ character and 3+ word domains myself. There's definitely demand if you find relevant names.

That's exactly the response i expected. My point has been proven, then.

Nobody has any any real interest.

It's the highest form of domaining, not suitable / recommended for everyone.
Only very focused / patient people will step into it.

Because they are aware of the fact that there are people on this planet who have so deep pockets that they simply don't know what to do with all their moneyyy
They have a lot of houses / villas / castles with luxury bunkers, they have any car they want, they have private jets / helicopters, mega yachts, high amounts of gold, luxury watches, jewlery, super expensive artworks…

...so to think that there is no possibility that they will also consider to buy such highest domains, is crazyyy

That's exactly my point. Quality exists, but don't rapid-fire-register a ton hoping for one sale.

You need to have a buyer in mind, and a fiscal plan as well.

I want to be the first one to know when you make a sale. It would be awesome if you proved me wrong.
