I am thinking of trying https://www.efty.com/

I'm wondering if I can get some pros and cons from members.

I have almost 300 domains so these some of the items I would like to discuss before signing up.

1. Getting the information in via excel seems to be the best option, is that correct?

2. Do I have to transfer the domain to efty or just change nameservers?

3. If I only change name servers then I have added more work because I have to maintain dates and prices in efty plus watch my registrar.

4. They seem to be in bed with Escrow and the buy now function looks like it depends on that. Is there another way to do buy now? I have my own payment processing machine and I use it or bank transfers.

5. Are there any other costs other than the quoted monthly fee.

6. Even using the excel spread sheet it looks like an awful lot of work to get everything in when there are 300 domains involved. Is it worth the time and effort on top of information already supplied by my registrar?

7. Is there a similar service and how do their tools compare?

8. Uniregistry looks like it may have similar services and ultimately it would be easier to manage the domains right from the registrar but I'm not hot on paying a 15% commission on sales. Discuss Uniregistry advantages if any.

PLEASE NOTE: Stay on topic here because I don't want to clutter up this thread with bantering.

If you have any legitimate questions about Efty to add please continue the red numbering sequence with the next number starting at #9.

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
Yup, I get that, I use it to see if they have control of the domain. Still have to do the due diligence though.

HeHe..... if I ever get screwed over I'll just hire you and they'll regret the day they ever wandered into my neck of the woods. :xf.laugh::xf.laugh::xf.laugh:

Best line of defense is to avoid getting screwed over by being as diligent as possible. Still, it happens...

Shoot me a message if you ever have questions about a purchase. Happy to help.

(Note: I have never bought a .ca, so you might know better than me in that regard)

Keeping this post on topic...

If somebody were to ever get screwed over on buying a domain or selling a domain from an Efty marketplace, how much assistance can Efty staff offer?

I was always under the impression that Efty staff could NOT offer any assistance (or minimal at best). All the negotiation and purchase follow-through is done between the Buyer and Seller (and sometimes Escrow Service handles the transaction).

But I would be happy to be wrong -- if there is something Efty Staff can provide, I am all ears...

DN

I agree.

That is correct. Efty is never involved in the sales process so buyers and sellers are advised to use a licensed escrow service for high-value transactions. Of course, when you do your due-diligence such @Grilled and feel comfortable using PayPal or credit card (Stripe) to pay for a domain you are still protected to a certain extent by the purchase protection of your credit card provider or PayPal.

I have an efty test account and here are the top 3 things I cannot get over.

They are why I have not signed up permanently

1. inability to customize favicon unless I go top tier.
I don't mind the efty tag on the bottom of the page but nobody knows what the efty favicon is when they bookmark one of my for sale pages.

2. Logos need to be larger and I need the ability to change the order to display my best ones at the top.

3. The infinite scroll need a shut off button. It is the most annoying thing EVER!!!
When I look at an Efty site and want the contact information at the bottom of the page I cannot get to it because the infinite scroll keeps going and going. Members with hundreds of domains have no way of displaying the information at the bottom of the page after a search unless you keep scrolling and scrolling and scrolling.

Someone else experiencing trouble with their Efty marketplace today?

Mine has been down for 5-6 hours, and it looks like an real issue at their end.

The same as I am getting, along with several other Efty marketplaces that I've tested. I haven't contacted support about it yet though, but will certainly do now. It has been down for many hours, not resolving at all.

I am currently on trial mode with Efty, and so far it's been a pleasure. But it's a bit odd, this. And no word about it, on any of their social media channels..

I remember they said a big update was coming soon, so maybe they are doing it now and it's causing downtime.

Hi everyone, we were indeed making some changes to the server setup which caused some short downtime. Evetthing should be back to normal again now. Apologies for any inconvenience.

In order to get SSL encryption, I'm redirecting my landers to my Efty Marketplace. I'm happy with how the "sales pages" look, except that they don't have any title that makes it obvious that the domain is for sale.

It would be highly appreciated if you could add a simple title that says "Example.com is for sale" with large letters (for example: HugeDomains sales page).

@Doron Vermaat Is that something you could fix?

Which marketplace template are you using currently? It's pretty obvious the domain is for sale in this theme, the Borgen theme: https://namerockstar.com/domain/MovingUp.com/ (Make Offer) or https://namerockstar.com/domain/irso.com/ (BIN) in my opinion.

I'm with ya on #1 and #3. If I have to pay for the top tier plan to change a favicon I'll be paying more than I pay now to a competitor where everything already works. So I won't spend more to efty than I pay now for less features than I already receive for less $.

Like to see the sitemap and email address be optional to show on site as well. Don't mind phone number showing but don't want my email on hundreds of domains shown and appears it's either all on or all off for contact information.

Wouldn't mind an editable footer as well as I have hundreds of domains with footer links that bring me quite a nice chunk of affiliate income every month.

So I need favicon on the middle plan or a reduction in price on the top plan. Sitemap/email address removal from showing. More intro text being allowed on site, not enough allowed to instill trust in buyers. (25) etc... domains per page instead of infinite scrolling, Editable footers to insert my links for me to wanna try Efty again.

Latest update is definitely an improvement over the previous version but still not enough for me to say let's give it another go.

I just can't get over the fact that efty landers don't feature SSL directly but by redirecting to a link on the main marketplace domain.
Big issue in 2018 if you want to establish trust and sell for a high price (e.g. show the potential buyer you mean business).

I am now trying my free account and still feeling my way around, it seems pretty good but it still needs a few things to really make it great, especially since I see the prices recently went up.

I agree with a few others on here about a few things like,
  1. Efty landers Need SSL directly
  2. Customize Favicon should be available either on the Growth tier or at a lower price and available on all the landers. If you have less then 1500 domains it would be nice not have to pay twice the price just because you want a you own Favicon.
  3. The ability to change the order of logos to display them however you want.
  4. A more customizable homepage/footer/header. From what I can see so far it's very limited to what we can do.
  5. Would be nice to have more then just 4 marketplace templates to choose from.
That's my 2 cents for now (y)

Hi Doron,
I wanted to ask you if there are any plans to implement these 5 items I suggested below to Efty anytime soon?
  1. SSL Efty landers
  2. Customize Favicon available either on the Growth tier or at a lower price
  3. The ability to change the order of logos to display them however we want.
  4. A more customizable homepage/footer/header.
  5. More marketplace templates to choose from.
I think these 5 implementations would take Efty to a much higher level of greatness (y)
Thanks
Len

I went to go sign up to pay but I just noticed Efty doesn't accept PayPal for account payment, only credit cards.
@Doron Vermaat is there any plans for us to use PayPal for monthly payments?
I think that would also attract more domainers who don't have or don't want to use a credit card.

@lennco thanks for taking Efty for a spin and also taking the time to provide feedback and suggestions. It's much appreciated.

Apologies for my late response. I am currently on holiday and mostly keep an eye on email.

1. Currently, we offer two ways to host your landers on SSL-secured pages. You can auto direct them to pages to SSL-secured pages on EftyMarket.com, ie https://eftymarket.com/movingup.com/ or you can auto direct visitors to the corresponding For-Sale landing pages on your SSL-secure marketplace, ie https://namerockstar.com/domain/MovingUp.com/

SSL-secured landing pages for each of the domain names itself is something that requires quite a bit of technical resources but that doesn't mean we're not exploring options to add this to the platform in the future.

2. We have no plans to change this.

3. You can change the order of the premium domain names and their logos on the homepage of your marketplace. You can find this feature under Settings > Premium Domains and it's available on all tiers.

4 & 5. More customization for landing pages and the marketplace is high up on the list of popular request from all users so we will spend resources and time on that whenever we have the capacity.

As for payments, we use Stripe to manage our subscriptions and they accept all major credit cards (as well as visa debit cards etc). It's not feasible for us as a small business to use two different payment partners for managing subscriptions. It would put a strain on our admin and accounting and we wouldn't be able to offer our software at such a low price.

I want to use the Professional tier, so I want full White Label from begging to end. No signs of Efty.
So https://eftymarket.com/movingup.com/ will not work for me.

I also want all my domains to have their own pages so not to be redirected.
I would like to have all my domains to link back at my marketplace.
And I would be willing to pay a little more, not much more but a little to have each domain page SSL-secured.

2. We have no plans to change this.
Ok

My bad, sorry I didn't notice that.
That is a cool feature (y)

If you can at least create some more templates for now that would be great, maybe 4 to 8 more?
And maybe later create a more customize tools for use to use.

Stripe seems to be more of a credit card processor for the business end.
For many of us an online wallet like PayPal works best for making payments especially auto monthly payments.

So many domainers keep money from sales in their paypal and its just easier to use paypal to send money.
I for one Do Not like to use my credit card/debit card for online renewable subscriptions.
If I want to use Efty then I might have to get a pre-paid credit card to make monthly payments which is a hassle.

I just think you would attract a lot more domainers to use your platform if they could use an online wallet like paypal...imho.

Thanks again Doron

I second this. I'm looking for a domain platform right now. I only use PayPal for everything I pay for online (except Amazon, of course). I was getting ready to sign up for the free trial on Etfy. But if paying Etfy via PayPal isn't an option then, sadly, it's not a solution I can use. Even GoDaddy accepts PayPal (one of two reasons I use them).

Dear Doron,

Is it possible to introduce statistics on clicks (visits) per each page/domain? Currently, this option is available for Undeveloped.com users. It helps to analyze traffic to each listed domains. As for now, I can visit only aggregated stats for all the domains listed in my EFTY marketplace.

Thanks

@Doron Vermaat
