Hello,

Such exciting times. The Internet is on fire right now.

Unfortunately I was too late to grab some good .app domains. I missed the boat. But if you are like me, and missed on this great opportunity despair not.
Fortunately our benefactor Google has great plans for us. Enter .rsvp, the TLD of the future.
I have to admit I was confused as to the meaning of RSVP. After some googling, I found that it means 'Répondez s'il vous plaît', which is the abbreviation of a French sentence. Courtesy of 101domain:
'Please respond,' the original French phrase asks those invited to an activity or event. Now the initials alone do the asking. And they can, in a .rsvp top-level domain name, tell the world you’re a party planner or similarly engaged in the entertainment industry.
Now it makes a lot of sense. Because nearly every website exists to promote products or services, or at least elicit some response from visitors, .rsvp is a creative way to engage with consumers and show how much you value their their feedback.

I am firmly convinced that .RSVP could be the next big thing after .app. If you are French or offer content geared to a French audience you need .rsvp period.
There is not one single company on the Internet that is more influential than Google today.
Anybody who is doubting Google's might and resolve needs to find another hobby. Sorry for you, dinosaurs, blind investors and dotcommies, the future is here and it is not waiting for laggards :-D
Full steam ahead. Beam me up Scotty B-)

My plan is to invest 5 figures in .rsvp and HODL.
:$::$::$::$::$:

PS: did I mention that RSVP also means Retire Soon by Virtue of Profits ?

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
Interesting tone you set for a new tld but a very harsh one towards .app despite you not having made the early boat. We should hold hope for proper tlds if you want a brighter future overall.

None the less I’ll snag max 2-3 relevant domains for this rsvp gtld that I can see only make sense on the broad spectrum.

Protip: .rsvp will be valuable on event planning and weddings. Although .com can already take care of all of that whoever dominates the purchases within the event keywords will walk away the winner

Welcome to the future my friend :xf.smile: For a moment I thought I was the only one seeing the tremendous potential of the highly-anticipated .rsvp TLD. I am missing the boat everytime.

I tried to be nice about it haha. She can have high level sarcasm but then again it’s how we see the future. Fresh blood coming from different industries can sometimes help the elderly. :)

Don't sweat all the haters in this thread, they're just a bunch of old .commers (commies) worried about their precious .com portfolio. .rsvp is the next .com. It doesn't have a vowel in it like .com. Part of me tho, wished you didn't make this public thread, I don't need the competition :(

Disclaimer to keep myself on topic.
I haven't invested in rsvp.

Now.... TOTM
NP'rs at their best...
Man, I love this place.

Peace,
Kenny

My plan is to reinvest all my profits to set up my own TLD. Then I can sell strings to domainers domain investors, entrepreneurs and pioneers, and all those visionaries ready to embrace the future. Nothing beats a license to print money (y)
Kenny you must have been reading my mind, this is so creepy how do you do it lol :xf.frown: .TOTM was in fact in my shortlist of TLD candidates. Great minds think alike (though fools seldom differ).
Because I like TLDs that have a broad purpose. With .TOTM I could address roughly half of mankind since half of humans are women. And to be honest, women need their own cozy place on the Internet which is too often Macholand :xf.love:
But now the .cat is out of the .bag damn.

I was trying to keep this private, but a ngTLD out of Canada is about to go into landrush phase!

It is .eh since we Canadians love to say it at the end of every expression, eh!

It is the perfect ngTLD since you can end anything with eh (and we Canadians do!) - like party.eh, FakeNews.eh, GreatDeal.eh

It is short, and memorable especially to Canadians (it is the third most quoted word in Canada after hockey and sorry).

Anyway, I've heard via normally unreliable sources that the .eh extension will be announced at the ICANN meeting in Vancouver this week. It will be pretty great, eh?

So don't miss out - get your premium .eh domains now! Oh and one last thing - they can only be purchased with Canadian dollars!

ps Sorry for a slight highjack of your thread, @Kate

Lmao, really ...sarcasm from gTLD sceptic, which is kind of refreshing!

Kate...you have probably noticed that whole Namepros and domaining blogs are all about .APP.
150k+ registrations in first days of general availability. People are spending huge money towards new gTLDs. No one in 2018 really intensively discuss short .ccTLD domain names or "myatlantatopplumberservices.com" type of domains anymore. Those domains still retain value, but alll what was relevant to discuss about them was already discussed 1000 times in past years, nothing new can come.

So I guess in order to stay relevant, one needs to move towards new gTLD area, which you just tried by way of sarcasm. Little clumsy in my opinion, but nothing against that, it might be a first step for you to appreciate that we are in 2018!

It reminds me of some insecure teenagers - in many cases when a guy likes a girl, instead of saying "I like you, lets hang out" he starts to tease her, or make some sarcastic remarks in order to get some attention. Maybe is this the way how you are trying to approach new gTLDs after long initial scepticism? No need to do it, just move directly to gTLD fan camp (and bring also @JB Lions with you) - you guys are welcome here :xf.love::xf.love:

193K today. I have the zone file in front of me.

I know, but it's not a new trend at all. Spending money is the easy part. My personal benchmark is not based on spending but on revenue.

That's it exactly, and you've framed it quite well. There are two sorts of domain names, those that you sell quietly and those that you talk about endlessly.

So I guess in order to stay relevant, one needs to move towards new gTLD area, which you just tried by way of sarcasm. Little clumsy in my opinion, but nothing against that, it might be a first step for you to appreciate that we are in 2018!
That's why I am looking to the future and lining up for the highly-anticipated .rsvp. It's backed by Google, that's all I need to know in order to invest. Seriously, some people are narrow-minded, how dare they think they are smarter than Google ? Show some humility people (n)

I found this post by Raymond at TLDInvestors interesting especially that it showed that .app was the 24th most popular part of domain names PRIOR to the .app TLD. I think that helps show that there was a case for app beyond its sponsorship by Google.
http://tldinvestors.com/2018/05/behind-the-keyword-spotlight-on-app.html

With 6 million plus different apps (across iOS + Android) and significant growth, app does have a large potential end user audience.

I have no doubt that app will be an end user success (with over 16,000 app based sites already in active use, many would argue it already is).

Is there money to be made reselling it? On that, I am less convinced, but it is certainly possible. The security aspect, Google sponsorship, and great interest and discussion will help make at least somewhat good prices possible I think.

ps I have not registered any, although considered some possibilities, and may still register a few.

pps Sorry to get serious on what is I think best a sarcasm/humour thread!

pppps Do you know where I can register this RSVP TLD? I tried on my favourite registrars but they don't have it yet?! :guilty:

I can't remember the last time I got a wedding invitation without .RSVP. Everybody uses it.

I am surprised that NPs staff have not posted this, but a new policy is about to be implemented I have heard. The only way to respond to a message, bid on an auction, submit an appraisal, etc. will be through an email account with the RSVP extension. Anything else will be blocked. So those of you using a cc, com, net or ngTLD email address, you will no longer be allowed to interact with this community.

"Since any form of interaction could be interpreted as an RSVP, and considering that it is Google so must be good, we have decided all interactions on NPs in the future must be via RSVP enhanced interaction. The only allowed extension for any URLs, emails, etc. will be RSVP. Spamhaus have indicated that there is 0 abuse of the RSVP extension so far."
