Let me share a small case study regarding bulk registration from daily expiry list...

Last year I purchased 100 .com domains during Nettigritty.com promo of $2 so total investment =$200 and all the domains were picked from daily expiry list..

Domains were mix of Brandable , Keyword , Emd and Geo..

Sold 20 5-8 letters Brandable names at Namepros for $15 each... revenue :- $300
Ex:- pikolina.com , crustle.com etc

Sold 10 domains at Namejet.com for total of $1300 at avg price of $130..
Ex:- syntheticmarble.com , bottlesuppliers.com

Sold 2 domain in afteric for $500 ..
Ex:- mohitto.com

Sold 13 domains via outbound for avg price of $200 so total $2600..
Ex:- donatethroughinsurance.com
Bestmbaschools.com etc

60 domains still left... 10 of them received low xxx offers which I rejected and will hold them and renew them for couple of years..
Ex:- elevatorchair.com
Pgcourses.com
Pregnancyjeans.com etc..

Remaining 50 if not sold in next 2 months than will liquidate in re seller market or drop them...

Even if we remove outbound sales as it requires times and expenses and consider sell only via platform than here is the picture...

Total investment :- $200
Revenue :-
Namepros:- $300
Namejet:- $1300
Afternic:- $500
Total =$2100

Average commission and charges 15% =$350

So net profit =$1550...

That's a very good achievement, imo - congrats! (y)

Those results with 100 .Com domains certainly beat those of the poster who registered 20 thousand .xyz domains. However curating 100 domains from expiring domain lists, listing them at various platforms and transferring domains which do sell does involve an investment of time. Hopefully it was worthwhile. Just curious how many hours went into the outbound marketing of domains which did not sell.

Yes initially it takes time to find good domains from expiry list but eventually you get habituated and it doesnt take much time. List on marketplace is one time job so it hardly takes a day of work. Transferring domains doesnt take much time.

Lots of time and investment gets into outbound so i didn't consider that in over all profit...

So all they need now is your intuition on why/how you selected these 100 domains out of, what is it 30k? drops :) Also, how many days did you have to scour to get the 100 domains?

Well nothing is easy in the world and we can never get free money. I just wanted to highlight 3 basic points for newbies..

1. Dont run after xxxxx sales just after venturing into domaining. 3x-4x return are also amazing and slowly and gradually higher sales would automatically come it. Be practical and dont just follow certain post where they mentioned that they purchased domains for $10 and sold for $10k... A lot goes behind the picture which they dont disclose.

2. Always look out for promo offers if you planning to play hand registered game. We often have 2-5$ promo offer couple of times in a year by some registrar or other and such offers are not meant to be missed.

3. Even though quality of drops have reduced a lot as most of the decent ones are catched by dropcatching companies but still we do find good domains if we keep our eyes open.

As for your query , i prepared the list of 100 domains in one day from expireddomains.net , i mainly focus and buy Geo domains as they easily sell via outbound and give quick roi.

Excellent advice which noobs should be taking notice of :)

I presume you were doing outbound on these domains? Do you have any advice on that aspect of selling?

Well I have seperately mentioned the revenue from marketplace and from.outbound.

Outbound is profitable but it requires lots of time and dedication... I have a team which does outbound for my domains but it can be done individually as well. If there is any specific query related to outbound than probably I can share some pointers on that.

even if you would have bought at a standard price of about $9 USD
you would have made a decent profit

but actually, I think you have left a lot of money on the table
which would scared me a lot

Yes but with $9 you would require larger capital and risk would also be higher...

Yes i agree i left money on the table but i prefer cash flow more than anything else. I have almost 1000 domains with me and i have kept 50 of them separately for long term. Domaining can be dicey profession as we dont have regular cash flow in this...

Great info. Curious if you could give the timeline of which things you did first. Did you do outbound on all of them as the first step? If end users were your first target did you use higher pricing or more of a wholesale model? Did you try to sell them on Namepros first? Did you list them all on Namejet first? The reason I ask is depending on the order of what you did first would determine how much money could have been made if some steps were changed. For example if you would have approached all end users first at higher pricing for a couple of months would that have changed your profits. Wondering what your thought process was from the beginning. Thanks for your answers in advance.

Sometimes you have to put in more time when you are beginning so that you can put in less time when you are more seasoned.

Ah Interesting , i was waiting for this question.

Well the biggest issue with domaining is that there is no regular cash flow and you never know when the domain would be sold. Well for me there was no sales for first 6 months.

I have listed all the domains at the same time in all the major marketplace but there were no sales and all the sales came between january to march..

1. I hired a team in December for outbound and they started collecting leads and sending out mail. Sales started coming in from From january onwards and with regular follow up.

2.As for namepros i have listed all the domains in August itself and use to reply to "Domain wanted section" for no sales . Suddenly sales started in January and 15 deals were between January and march.
3. As for Afternic all the domains were registered since August 2017 and 2 sales came in March 2018.

4.As for namejet i have started listing there since November but no sales came. I started checking the portal and started discussing with Namejet team. I came to know there is a "Hot pick" section in Namejet and you can request namejet team to list 3 of your domain in that before Auction start. I started doing the same from February and made 10 sales in february and March.

5. I am presently experimenting with Undeveloped.com and lets see how it goes.

Hope that answers your query.
