Yes. Especially ZeroClick with HighTraffic domains...
And overall, monetization is a part of domaining apriori, not only trading.
hmmm...looking into this

You are not alone...
The same for me for the last 30 days... 0 sales...
Stable inbound inquiries but nothing really interesting/significant... at least high $xxx...
You said "stable inbound enquiries" what are the sources? Domain Marketplace, Whois or some other sources? Please share your experience.

There are many factors that play a role in deciding the 'viability' of the 'business'. One being total number of domains. One cannot expect 1-2 sale of out of portfolio of 10-15 names, as the above average sales rate is 2-3%. As always, give it some time, would say 2-4 years to realize whether this business is right for you or not. Other factor being 'viability' of the domain itself. Selling them at wholesale prices is not going to cut it. So, you have to think from end user's perspective - that is where the margins are. We normally recommend these 2/3 criteria for deciding whether there is a buyer for the name.

1) Can the domain name be used for a ‘business’. Where does it fit in - product name, service, or business name itself.

2) Does the business identified in Step 1 has large enough scope. Can that business survive of its own by selling that particular product/service. If the scope is wider, meaning there are multiple industries where the domain can potentially be used, better it is as it will have larger audience, hence better chance of finding a buyer.

3) If you answered yes to both above - here is the next step. Since you are doing the domain business, so you are kind of 'business person' yourself. So you have to ask yourself this question, would 'You' run that business yourself (ignore the money part here). And this is what you have to think of when buying the name.

"Be a buyer first before becoming a seller"

Also, what is that important is that you do not have one particular type of names. Have some names that are high yielding, some average, and some that keep the engine running. Keep a mixed bag. Run by a name again and again and do not be fixated in one direction - ask your friends what they think of the name. Normally, people do not realize the value of the name and undersell because they need to sell, but most ask ridiculous prices, more a case of 'hit or miss' (that approach is not recommended). Buyer is no fool, they are businessmen themselves - that is why they are buying the name, and not because they just like the name.

Lastly, in forums, you will see lot of buzz around some names being sold for several thousands, the names that you would not pay $100 for. Do not get disheartened or excited over those news. Those instances are not very common and normally belong to very large portfolio owners, and their strategy is different and is based on their (decades of) experience. You have your own strategy based your understanding and experience.

Hope it helps.

We follow each other on twitter

but a retweet can sell a domain if its retweeted by a person with end users in their timeline etc

I have sold 2 domains (new gtlds)

I havent had a sale in years but tried the flippa auction etc and not prepared to let bidders bid £1 and then want me to pay a years reg fee for then in gd

So i now read my niche i understand the niche i but in very well

I have a very good quality twitter feed that gives me the very latest info on my niche

By reading the very latest info on the niche i but domains in it allows,me to read the future of the niche and second guess it

Guessing is a valuable part of domain name investing

Not even the fast computers used by the big money domain name investors are faster than a persons ability to second guess a market trend

Started buying domains around 2014

at the start ish of the new gtlds and bought well at reg fee

I have bought two keyword .coms based on my ideas | concepts etc but have two many concepts with the two keyword .coms on the digital shelf etc

Bought a few brandables for reg fee

A few are on bb a few domains on undeveloped

A few ill never sell irrespective of price

My portfolio is like a football team being relegated lol it just keeps slipping through the leagues lol but eventually it will find its level

Ill get a sale eventually

Ive probably let at least 50% of my portfolio expire and i dont mind that i just build it up again with a domain here or there

Again its like a football team that changes constantly with players coming and going etc the team evolves over time

I look at namebio sales every day and see quality two keyword .coms selling for £300 ish etc and think sonetimes domain name investors dont know how valuable there domain names are

I used to post my new donains on reg of the day but kept getting constant spam emails offering me seo rubbish a nd website hosting and logo rubbish etc so i don't put my newly acquired donains on reg of the day anymore and the seo website hosting and logo spam emails have virtually stopped

I am happy with my domain name investing strategy

I look at mm s sales prices as and some of his sales were bought 6 or 7 years previous etc

Domain name investing is a waiting game and requires all the patience in the world

I m more than happy to sit and wait

Actually I was having a steady xxxx income monthly mainly via outbound and it's my only source of income , but outbound looks dead now no replies no price inquires ..not sure what I'm doing wrong as my strategy was giving me steady income for me almost a year.

Looking to move away from outbound , as domaining is my only source of income for me and my family , need to build a strategy , thanks for all the valuable advices above. Still without a sale 1 month plus , let's see what's next.
Can you tell me what outbound strategy have you been using to make money because xxxx income is awesome so I'm curious what possibly be missed that brings you to no sales.

Via Bodis and ParkingCrew forms.
And rarely via WHOIS.
I don't use any marketplaces.

Personally I've started focusing on the average profit per year, not per month. I have sold much fewer domains than last year (at this time) but still I've made more profit in 2018, so far.

2014-2017, I focused a lot on flipping names. Now I'm trying to target end-users much more. If I have a bad month, I just try to work harder and smarter!

For every month you do not have a sale, you cut 3 meals out of your month.

So assume you have 30 days in a month. = 90 meals a month.

No sale 1 month.. take away 3 meals for the next month.

Trust me this will motivate you to make better decisions on future purchases and accept more reasonable prices for your domains.

Maybe your e-mail address is marked as spam. If you sent hundreds even thousands of outbound e-mails there is a good chance that your mails are dropping to the spam folder.

You might want to check that and get a new e-mail address.

My question is how do you motivate yourself when you get mid xxx$ offers but you counter and don't hear anything from the potential buyer for the remaning month?

How can this help..parking income?
Don't chase parking, those names aren't cheap either, the people who understand the metrics, pay heavily for subpar names when it comes to that business model, and it has a shelf life for the most part.

If you can buy generic .com's with great parking income, well you can't in 2018.

I see you bet heavy on crypto which was killing it up until the bottom fell out at the end of January. Trading volume is way down, many people got burned, and won't make that mistake twice. Others are asking the question, what exactly do we own, no assets, no profits, just a coin with an infinite float. There are way to many alt coins out there, another correction will come if bitcoin cannot continue to move higher.

You have to be diversified into many segments, and be 90% .com.

Got 8 offers this week with the maximum is $800.
Tried to counter but they didn't want to pay more. Could not release those names because i thought that they was worth more.
So how could i motivate myself?
BUYING MORE NAMES.

Binge watching domain sherpa helps imho. I had 2 domain sales all of last year, lol. Already spent more on domains this year than I made last year with them. I wouldn't recommend doing this as I'd like to think there's a method to my madness.
