Do you reckon using "https" as opposed to using "http" would make any difference in the landing page? Would love to hear your thoughts on this.

Yes, https is very critical. Not only does it provide security, Google has publicly stated that it is an important factor in their search engine ranking

If this is in the context of domain sales then I highly doubt switching to https would make any difference.

You are selling domains name, you should use https as it's secure & keep safe your buyer from potential hack or malware

When folks search for the keyword on search engines and your Landing Page does not show up in search results, you don't think your sales would be affected?

Landing pages are thin content. Google hates thin content. Stronger the domain keywords, more the competition so harder will it be to rank such landing-pages on the first few page. SSL alone may not be a factor strong enough to rank a landing page on first few pages of search results.

There may be exceptions though, like the landing pages of domains which has made-up brandable type keywords which has less to non-existing competition.

My reasoning is about search traffic, not to be confused with type-in traffic.

Absolutely agreed. Regardless of the seo value of the domain keywords this must be definitely implemented in a private marketplace or anything which handles monetary transactions.

You're looking at it the other way. HTTPS isn't a factor to just rank a landing page but the lack of https is a strong factor for a domain/website to get demoted in serps.

It’s not a “strong factor” and will not get your page filtered or penalized. It’s still more of a “tie breaker.” Relevancy to the query and overall page quality /authority still dominate.

However in July pages not using HTTPS will be flagged as “not secure” in Chrome, which will affect visitor behavior.

Just noticed the recently purchased privacy.io is for sale but not using https. Irony? :xf.wink:
