Hi all,

I wanted to test the water with my first proactive domain sale. So I set up a Flippa auction which ended last night on a price I am more than happy with- there was 8 bidders and lots of interest.

Now it comes time to discuss payment and transfer, the buyer is stalling. Saying 20 days for due diligence and payment.

Seems fishy to me and I know there are other bidders that would take it from me now.

Any thoughts or advice gratefully received.

Dan.

Your buyer have any rating? Usually you're making your own diligence before bidding, not after you won the auction. 20 days? Hmm ...

Why sit on tenterhooks for 20 days? if you are confident that there are others who would take it then would suggest to go with someone who is a quick decision maker. Congratulations and Good Luck!

They've been on the site for a year, no rating.

I did lots of outbound, so the bidders were almost all new to the site. End users

You should dispute the sale if the buyer doesn't want to pay!

As far as I can see I cannot dispute in advance of 72hrs from the end of the auction.

Like, I'm not in a massive rush. If someone needs a few days, then Ok. But 20!?!?!

It's low XXXX, and not millions.

Contact the flippa support and ask them what you can do

20 days is not normal - contact flippa support to verify the buyer

Offer it to the 2nd highest bidder.

OK, I have raised the issue with Flippa.

I will definitely offer it to the 2nd highest, but I want to address the issue with Flippa first, so cover myself and ensure I am approaching things fairly.

I have also sent a message to the buyer.

Flippa got back to me and said I can raise a dispute after 48 hours. Essentially, Thursday morning.

I have mailed the buyer too.

Hopefully we can resolve it.

Thanks for everyone's help on this. Just to update, unfortunately the winning bidder seems to have been a time waster and has been banned from Flippa.

Pretty annoying considering the interest in the auction. I have relisted it and contacted all of the other bidders, so hopefully something will come together on it.

Slightly deflating, but onwards and upwards.

Thx again.
