I just picked up a couple domains that I was shocked were not registered. Not something I mess with very frequently.

The pickups just made me curious...

• What's your best .com pickup, by new register, over the last two years?

Okay my pickups were TopTropicalVacations.com and BestTropicalVacations.com.

They were to support the GoDaddy domain of TropicalVacations.com which I'm about to lose as it went over my $4500 max.

If you follow the your reg of the day thread you'll see people posting surprisingly good hand regges all the time.

For me I have to pick MicroPackage / com from the last couple of years. I know some will call me crazy but micro packaging will be big business in a few years I think.

Not much public info about micro packaging yet, some articles and research, but pharmaceutical companies and food will for sure be where it will be used first and foremost. I can honestly see it being worth a very nice amount some day.

They were to support the GoDaddy domain of TropicalVacations.com which I'm about to lose as it went over my $4500 max.

I was the one who did bid till $4600, unfortunately it was pulled back from me today, the owner renewed it.

The owner looks like a domainer, I do not know why he renewed it last minute! maybe he wanted to know the value of the domain in an auction.

The registry of the domain is tucows, that why he was able to renew it even thought it was already auctioned.

I loved the domain too much, it would have been the most expensive domain to buy)

This is why I stopped go daddy auctions years ago. Very much not impressed and buying domains isn't worth the headache for me.

if the domain's registry is godaddy, and if you win the auction, you will get the domain. But if it is with another registry such as tucow, the owner might renew it even after registration....

ya, it was waste of time, I love tropical vacations...so I even dreamed to develop it....but..(
