I am the owner of MCV.COM, I registered this domain with NetworkSolutions in 1997. And I renewed this domain until April 2019. Someone hacked into my account and did an illegal transfer to “Internet Domain Service BS Corp”. Now this domain name is not under my name anymore, Is there a legal way to get it back?

Ok I have been a fan of James bond and Sherlock holmes right from my childhood, used to play those type

role plays at school when something was stolen in our school,So let me rub my old magic here...

I may be wrong but here is what i think might have happened so far...

1.Domainnamebroker.com ,Yakov and Virtual Estate LLC are actually the same person .

2.Our so called DNB stole the domain with the internal help of Network Solutions employees.

3.DNB wanted the sale to happen as quickly as possible before the Original owner recognised it
was stolen.
(or)

1..Domainnamebroker.com ,Yakov and Virtual Estate LLC are actually the same person .

2.Someone(Anonymous so far) stolen the domain MCV.com and handed it over to DNB for a quick sale .

3.DNB wanted the sale to happen as quickly as possible before the Original owner recognised it
was stolen.

More to come Stay tuned.......

I remember when Yakov sold 2 letter.com-s (he had them at least 10) for $10k or something like that. Year most have been 2003 or 2004.

It's good that you did not take either of those as your career goals!

Guys Virtual State LLC and DomainNameBroker is the same person

How?
if we checked the domains owned under the Name of Virtual State LLC
from here http://viewdns.info/reversewhois/?q=Virtual+Estate,+LLC
we can see the last domain is
yukhananov.com
and this the last name of DomainNameBroker (Yakov Yukhananov) as mentioned here on the topic.

DomainNameBroker has been for years in the industry and so I think stealing a domain and faking a good story isn't a hard option for him.
Especially, he got too many positive trades.
10+ Years at NP and VIP member :D

So the domain is still under the name of Virtual State LLC.
I hope Yakov get it back to the owner and tell us how exactly he did this. To protect our domains in the future.

The good ol days you could buy 3L.com's on ebay for a few hundred bucks, who knew.

Not trying to be a conspiracy theorist here but Virtual Estate LLC has been incorporated for almost 11 years in the state of NY. Suddenly, at the end of July 2017, he decides to incorporate in the state of florida as well, perhaps to protect himself and his assets from litigation, and save him taxes on the income from thieving and scheming. Yakov's NY address is less than an hour away from Stan Chen in NJ. Could the two have crossed paths in some crazy way?

Sure. Or perhaps you can provide evidence to back up your statements and help solve the case faster? Anyone can make any random accusation or statement

Anyone who followed Yakov he was angry often, talking about poor grammar use, and marijuana domains should be outlawed, and F S was going to be sued by his client, he has a pretty documented past in being associated to some good domains, but often times doesn’t always dictate a wrong fork in the road. I still don’t get why a broker like him refused to use escrew.com for a 5 figure sale, after all his antics nobody wasn’t going to send him a bank wire, without recourse.

For him to sell that domain for that cheap, means most likely he got it even cheaper.

Theoretically, if he's been in the business for as long, he could have ties to hackers back home and may have done this to folks who are known to have super premiums and know nothing about the domain name aftermarket. I have no ties to NS but it seems like an easy target with/or inside jobs.

Let's test that theory when all my reg fee domains get stolen LOL

This isn't new evidence. It's been unequivocally proven that they are the same person several messages prior to your's.
And besides, my comment wasn't even directed at you but whatever

Just read an interesting article about IMK.com.....

"But aside from that big sale, things seemed kind-of-quite this year, with more than a few three character .com domain names such as IMK.com ($23,000.00) that were sold at what seemed to be record pricing accompanied by a fairly quiet floor audience. MVC.COM was another three character which sold for $28,000, BOJ.COM for $35,000 – while others (such as ROI.com, IBF.COM and SCU.COM were passed on. The dynamite name PayPerClick.com (which represents a super-lucrative business) sold for just $100,000.00."

Why do all these messed up things happen on NS?

Or more correctly put: why is it whenever someone is complaining about their registrar doing some weird stuff or someone's domain missing from their account its always NS?

I had a situation once where a buyer and seller contacted me and asked me to intermediate a deal. I did not broker it directly but I introduced the parties. The buyer then claimed that she had been ripped off by the seller and nothing had been transferred to her. Buyer kept crying asking me to cover the lost money because I had introduced the parties.

Turned out that buyer and seller were the same person. It took me just some hours to figure this out because the buyer had contacted another domainer I knew and made some comments that could only have been known by the seller.

So then I asked the buyer to give me proof of payment made to the seller, and of course the "proof" supplied was bogus. The whole thing unraveled from there with buyer getting agitated and making it even more obvious that the whole thing was an attempted scam by some low lifes. Or rather, by one low life. :xf.cool:

I really hope you will regain your domain back, and I hope criminal(s) who stole it will "cherish" every prison meal very soon.
Nobody is going to prison. The OP has to prove the name was stolen. It was transferred from his account so unless he can prove he didn't transfer it, the authorities aren't getting involved.
