In the first edition of Detected Domains for 2018, we use DomainIQ's portfolio monitoring tools to bring you the latest sales and acquisitions from some of the most well-known names in the domain industry. These include Media Options' sale of the one-word domain Impala.com, a possible two-letter .COM sale and several three-letter .COM trades.

@Frank.Schilling's company bought MyFollowers.com for $2,800 at NameJet. Frank’s company may have also sold Diarama.com after the name moved under privacy protection.

Sam Dennis (@impulseleads) may have sold OD.com after the domain moved to @Uniregistry under privacy protection.

Internet Real Estate Ltd acquired CarbonStorage.com via DropCatch.com for $265.

@Telepathy Inc. acquired Ride.org to go along with Ride.com, which the company purchased last year.

Telepathy Inc also completed the sale of WMN.com for $200,000. The name was purchased by Bulk Powders, a British supplements company.

James Booth (@BoothDomains) purchased ZIZ.com before quickly selling it on to Internet Real Estate Ltd.

Andy Booth (@andyboothsi) also sold CBM.com to Internet Real Estate Ltd.

Garry Chernoff bought Potentium.com and Wintress.com.

@Braden Pollock bought EndUser.com via NameJet for $4,600. Braden also purchased Monogamous.com.

Aron Meystedt (@Napkin.com) purchased NMA.com. This three-letter .COM was originally registered in 1987 and is listed as the sixty-fifth oldest .COM domain name ever.

Mike Berkens (@TheDomains) sold Talk.show for $50,000.

Media Options look to have sold Impala.com to Tempting Brands AG, a European company “turning trademarks into brands”. The company currently holds a trademark for the term “Impala”.

@Mike Mann started 2018 well. The veteran domainer sold PortobelloAmerica.com for $9,888, TruckCrashLaw.com for $6,500, AListRealEstate.com for $19,888, FirstChoiceExteriors.com for $9,000 and CustomFigure.com for $4,888.

Mike also sold the domain CryptoWorld.com for $194,888 in a transaction taking place through @Sedo.

Can you confirm a sale, or are you simply reporting on the domain being transferred again?... I'm asking because sometimes when a trademark holder acquires a matching .com, it is not always the result of a purchase. Not saying it wasn't a purchase. More so curious of how much a trademark holder is willing to pay for a matching .com.

DNJournal.com HERE reports that @BoothDomains had sold it for $30k.

The purchase is mentioned in this DomainSherpa videa HERE
So they sold it for $23,000 to somebody who sold it for $28,000 to somebody who sold it to me for $30,000.
Michael: What are you gonna price it at? What’s your retail asking price on impala?

Drew: It’ll probably be, like, 250.

I cannot fully confirm the sale but based on the whois movement and the domain’s redirection I am 99% sure the domain sold. Whilst it’s plausible that the name was acquired by another means I would be inclined to say this is a sale.

Do these really count as sales?? Aren't they just moving names around between each other??

James Booth (@BoothDomains) purchased ZIZ.com before quickly selling it on to Internet Real Estate Ltd.

Andy Booth (@andyboothsi) also sold CBM.com to Internet Real Estate Ltd.
