Is This End User Withdrawing?

Hello Friends,

I need help, possibly to handle this situation and if there is a professional American that can help me save this, I will really appreciate it.

I reached out to an end user, a couple of them before settling, and he first offered $500 but I counted and he came higher to $800 which I accepted.

He agreed to send me his godaddy account details on Monday so that I can transfer the domain name to him but failed to do that and so I reminded him on Monday. He said he was out of office and promised to do it on Tuesday. He then requested for my wire account, which I gave.

The plan was to transfer to his company before payment.

The problem now is that since I gave him the details for the transfer and it was stated there that the bank is located in Nigeria. No response from him ever since that day. All emails sent has not be answered but read.

He has read all and he wouldn't reply any but prior to sending my account details, he responded well.

I have suggested escrow, suggested transferring first and he has been unresponsive.

What should I do?

Most of the time people are not comfortable with the idea of wiring money to individuals , for that , you were supposed to provide an escrow option from the start by telling them and initiating it by yourself so he or she would receive official emails from a wellknown company that is also probably in his country.

Good luck and I hope you close this sale :)

Thanks. I thought he was fine with the idea though. The domain name is really good and he is getting a steal if he purchase at that price but if he does not, all I need to do is sit on it for an offer to come in.

Nigeria ? That is a red flag, unless you can confirm what this person does, or a business association to the domain, most people in Nigeria do not have $800 to wire for a domain.

I think seller is from Nigeria, not a buyer.

Try calling them if you have their contact number...

Avoid using any method but Escrow or Payoneer. Do not give him or anyone the domain first. To eliminate concern in the future go the escrow route.

Good. Send him one last email or call and say that Escrow protects you both and is he ready to proceed Make sure you are verified there to receive unlimited amounts so you are ready when a bigger sale comes along.

Hmm. I pray the deal goes through oo. Maybe you should follow the advice of most people. Set up a payoneer escrow and send him the link. I pray the deal goes through

Right. At this point just hope that he clicks the escrow link and proceeds but also send him an email to point out that you are emailing him from the WhoIs for the domain.

Also I believe that escrow.com will not work with Nigerians but payoneer escrow will.

Yes, I am using Payoneer escrow. I have also sent him an email with regards to the escrow. he has read it and still does not say anything. I hate it when someone does this. Out of courtesy, someone deserves a reply, no matter what. It is frustrating. I will wait till Friday and if he does not comply, I will call him to get the words out of him.

Jideofor.. You know what I will tell you.. Call him.

Also Payoneer Escrow is only cheaper because I was stuck with the CC bill last time around as the broker. I paid around 50$. At Escrow.com buyer would have paid that, as she agreed to do. But I know you have limited options.

do you think it is wise to call on Sunday? I think that should be left till Monday I guess.

No for heavens sake wait until tomorrow and find your buyers time zone first. Call him around 10 AM his time. Even better wait until Tuesday 10 AM his time.

A Nigerian gentleman calling to sell you something on a Sunday will give him the wrong impression. Though anyone calling you on a Sunday with anything but a fat buy offer would be a persona non grata in my book.

Since the 1990’s from the hundreds of scam letters, faxes and emails I alone have received from Nigeria, (let alone millions of other people) I would probably have not responded to you either. The original scam letter from a “govt official” supposedly had some multimillion account he was wiiling to “share” with the unsuspecting victim. “I will give you my bank account number and you give me yours”. Unfortunately, there have been so many scams made using using your countries name in it, it’s difficult to trust. Like the advice above, set it up in Escrow, and call him.

You don't blame him until the end; he might either be very busied, out of station or hospitalized. Just pray he does not change his mind as you said. But I 'm not seen him backing out anyway.
Good luck and cheers.

No offence in your judgement, but the end user might well be backing out. Jideofor has been in this situation before. Buyers generally do not respond well to Nigerian sellers. Fair or not thats the way the cookie crumbles.
