Hey NP
I was wondering when you guys do outbound, do you use a Gmail address OR an email address with the domain of your choice?

What about Spam filters?

Which has proved most successful for you guys in doing outbound?

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
I use my ymail address, but if you own a portfolio website you can use the email with the domain name.
At the end, most will try and confirm the ownership by sending an email to the address on whois, except of course you are already using it to message them.
Just make sure it professional or make a new one
Imo.

We always use the email associated with the domain. Looks far more professional, and proves you are the owner of the domain.

I always use my own domain for negotiations...
Regarding outbound - I live without it...

I use @AbdulBasit.com as it's my own name and has active blog which gives good impression to endusers. Many one time buyers have sent funds in advance and I can think it's due to blog and reputation made over the years.

What about spam filters?

Is Gmail better or the domain in question?

@creataweb @DefinitelyDomains @Thirwell Castle

Domain in question. The email platform we use for all of our domains is very secure so we never have an issue with spam. Gmail, however, is very good for filtering those unwanted emails! It certainly does the job very well (I have a personal Gmail account)

@DefinitelyDomains - can you expand on how your system is set up? Do you just use an alias at the domain in question from your gmail account? And do you use tracking also? Thanks!

We have email accounts setup on our premium domains only. Our main @definitelydomains.com email is integrated with Gmail and works really well for us. Apologies, as this slightly contradicts my earlier post!

Same here when I do outbound I just do it from my main blog email since this way as Abdul mentioned they can see your legit site and also see what other domains you have currently for sale. This is why establishing a presence is important because if someone is going to make the decision to do business with you they are going to dig up information on you and make sure you are legit.

That's nice. I wonder if they have any free account now.

As far as I know they don't offer free for any new accounts using your own domain.

I don't normally do outbound email due to Canadian anti-spam legislation, but when I do send an email response regarding a domain I normally use the email address that is the registration Whois email address. I have used that email for many (12 or so) years since I have owned the associated domain.

I do normally also list an email associated with my much more recent domain name website (www.namesthat.win), just so they can make the association and perhaps go have a look at what I have available in other options beyond the one they asked about.

Although I have a generic info@ email associated with both websites, I never use that as the return email when I am responding to a query, but rather one that uses the normal first letter, last name email name with the domain. To me it just looks more personal and professional.

I would not personally use a hotmail or yahoo email for domain name sales, but would use a gmail email address, but that may just be my own bias.

I agree with those who posted about the importance of the link with the Whois email to establish authenticity that you for sure are the real owner of the domain name in question.

I would use a business email address over a gmail. Looks a lot more professional.

Coming up to nearly a year :-, Actually really good, Iv'e enjoyed being with them - they keep it very professional, give out plenty of additional tools for free also, and they're good with keeping their platform out of spam boxes. I downloaded their app onto my phone also so I get emails when I'm on the go also

I used ZOHO for other than domaining purposes and it's extremely good, very satisfied with it and the interface is amazing as well.

Seems like Zoho has better price than salesforce for the intro level. I wonder what's the difference.
