The names on here are so garbage, its embarrassing.
Are expired auctions the only way to find good names for sale?

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
No, you can buy names straight from owners. No need to wait for expiry (and competitors).
Any domain that is currently undeveloped could be for sale. You literally have tens of millions of domains to choose from.
So do research, don't be afraid to inquire and be patient. There are good deals to be had, but it's a time-consuming job.

I believe many people here own good to very good domains but are you willing to pay good to very good money for them?

Many names are garbage and it is true but so are many budgets, offers, wtb etc.

I think it all comes down to increasing budgets on one side and lowering expectations on the other then I believe we will see, all of a sudden, happier sellers and happier buyers.

BTW..what names are you after? :xf.wink:

Don't look for expired auctions. Domaining has already expired.

No, domaining has not "expired." It is true there are many who are trying to get rid of names they probably shouldn't have bought in the first place - just about everybody has (and I admit I've got some in my portfolio that, now looking at later, aren't so good ...). But there are some good names here on NP. I've also found some decent names on ExpiredDomains.net. There was one domain name in particular I picked up when I saw it on the expired list, and sold it 2 months later for $1500! Best advice is to know what you are looking for first, then search around. If you just look blindly, you *might* end up finding something good, but I think more often than not, will eventually end up registering something that you'll end up dumping. Good luck!

Some of the veteran Namepro members have really good names here but you just gotta be willing to pay a fair or "good" price.

Either way, expired domain auctions are your best bet or you could directly ask owners through whois.

Insulting all members here with this arrogant attitude does get you a premium domain 2 dollar budget !

I list on this forum names that easily go for many $$$$ even dealer prices but all it is here on this forum are arrogant and self absorbed know it alls WHO think that : wonderwhoeverfindsmydomain.nowheretobefound is a great domain !

Currently on this very forum I have listed a list excellent one word domains and all I got after a whole week is an insulting offer of $ 500 for bonuses.com .

If you people have no idea what a good name is then I guess domaining has expired !

I partially agree with you.

Given the average "Pro" and their expectations which is " finding the deal of the millennium " then the forum turns into a place to unload domains or sell stuff for xx.

Who insulted whom? Prove me wrong and link me to 5 good domains for sale threads on this forum , and I'll link you to a 100 of domain sales threads not even worth reg fee.
thanks wolfis.com, Bonuses .com is not only a good name its a great name, I have not see that thread.
I never mentioned prices,
I never mentioned trying to buy a domain for 50% of its value. or any "deal" for that matter.
I'm referring to the QUALITY of names being listed for sale on this forum.

I'd say there exist a lot of good domains , at fair prices...any category you may be looking for.

But sellers are frustrated by the ripoff budgets and not as willing to sell as they used to be.

Just look at some of the top domains section. Nice names but they def want a nice price. Best bet is through them since they're the some of them are the original owners. I'm sure you could offer something near the price they're asking and work a nice deal out.

Probably many people with good, great and fantastic names are discouraged to put them on sale here because 95% of requests and offers are reseller prices. So instead they unload unwanted and low grade stuff.

When people try to sell their domain name, for a stupid domain they will ask XXXX, and when they interested to buy a good domain name there offer will be XX, so always better to search expired domains. also my opinion is to check ebay.com for domains but dont forget to check the seller reviews before buying, also try to make the payment with escrow, because if the seller cheats your money is gone, you will not get any support from eBay or paypal.

I agree those are great names. But 10 years ago, all names listed for sale were of equal quality.
now I see names like this for sale, and I apologize if any these are yours;
Americain.com
BitcoinGo.org
Indiastories.in
LifeAfterBabies.com
Mentions.xyz
menfuture.com
STM.host
Trillion Domain.com

BTW, I have crappy names also, and I didn't say there were no good names for sale here, I am mainly commenting on the decreasing quality of domains for sale here on this forum.

People generally list things here the have chosen to get rid or that they don’t feel the need to keep or they need the money. Would you sell your best name in a market that more often than not is going to pay one tenth what you could get elsewhere? This is a reseller marketplace.People aren’t going to give their best names away. You insulting the marketplace is not helpful to any discussion.

As far as expired yes go pay GoDaddy $30 to 100 for a name that also might not sell and is often more expensive “garbage”.Some prefer to do business here for less.
