Just wondering what the general thoughts are about whether the recent trend to legalize marijuana will boost the prices of pot-related domains?

Second Tier Canna, Cannabis, 420 and others .

What a great sign, if even sub $500

Churches go figure.

Well someone figured ganjachurch was worth having, pronto. Seriously, Rastafarians have argued for years that this should be a sacrament.

Ganja domains don't sell. Even at $8 this one seems like a loss imo. Good luck to the new registrant!

Maybe the registrant is a believer?

But Keith is right, there are only 15 reported ganja sales: https://namebio.com/?s==QjN3gzM3MTM
The only one over 1k is an unlikely claim that the .club registry sold ganja.club for 10k. I'm a believer lol.

And in namebio action today - not me - a hot typo

Short history lesson as I see it.

5 to 7 years back, the branding as well as marketing efforts had all the signs of Rasta and Bob Marley variations. Key words were , Marijuana, ganga, weed and pot and 420.

3 years back...a transition into Medical and mmj...with a shift into a newly minted genus word Cannabis. A shift into a more medical use , with the sign sign with the green cross. Very little branding needed it was a organic movement twords a combination of the sign and a store name that few noticed. In Florida and monopoly states it's still the norm.

Old words
Marijuana
420
Weed
Ganga etc..

2 years , a branding shift.
Cannabis becomes the new word as more traditional forms of words became less desired as branding cleaned up for very little of the old style into a new crisp clean look. Take the Willie Nelson brand, or Bob Marley. It's so far from the " bob Marley "...back when. It's clean, crisp marketing looking at a broader market appeal. It worked.

Then along comes Cannabrands.com, they began the trend Canna that is trending now. Leafly.com and various Cbd brands followed. Snopp launched leafs by Snopp to add in a extra word into the mix.

Brandables ..became more popular, and are equally poised for a great future. Medmen...firefly to many to mention.

New words
Canna
Leaf
Cbd

To understand this better simply Google some of the mentioned brands...its a visual connection to words.

I'm with Kieth on ganja, but many aren't going along with my ideas on leaf. It's a evolving marketplace. No one truly knows.

There's such a diverse universe of people who will consume this product, therefore will ganga be used, yes...as will cleaner versions of canna and Leaf.

Key words will play a huge roll...for most owners of retail stores can be cute, but in end of the day their store etc will have to explain who they are with a budget. Brandables...are not easily explained with a moderate budget.

This week's Marcus Limonious piece on the Profit....shows the direction. The direction was clean, linear and branded. Look at the stunning stores he was in, even the two women with the pop tarts. To the Cannadesert guy, and others. Even the delivery gal had a forward thinking delivery platform.

The old saying of the gold rush applies. Money in the shovels as much as the gold.

The " new " fresh look in the industry.

In this short history it's difficult to spot trends, short of Canna and Cannabis.

Where's it all going? Hopefully into riches for everyone here. The game has has just begun, it's all about . Massachussets, California, Michigan and some smaller states. The three states haven't even begun issuing permitts. This is a completely new game....unlimited in scope..

I visited Canada for the first time recently, it was awe inspiring to see the extent of the use of .ca across the border. And there were dozens of small shops opening selling cannabis despite the legal situation.

Nice to hear this. Been a long uncertain hold on our .ca's. Definitely more movement there these days though- my favorite one went out this morning in fact.

low x,xxx
and this one couple weeks back
BuyCBD
mid xxx

(update on a previous sale- CannaCBD.com stalled in escrow.com for literally 3 weeks and by the time a new transaction was created, the price of the name dropped in half... obviously not the best negotiating on my part but I was at least able to retain the sale after the buyer went from simply annoyed to livid, and the ROI is still very solid. And to be honest, the sound of CannaCBD is not terrific. Acronyms don't seem to roll off of the keyword canna nearly as well as words. Buyer got a good deal as they are enduser- they switched their name from CBDcanna.co.uk.)

I saw about 8 to 9 out of 10 commercials on TV had a .ca domain, including many companies who run commercials in the US that have .com in them. Whenever I would see something other than .ca I would laugh because it was so rare.
