Sold a bunch but none of the "buyers" ever paid.

When was this? Back in our early days we have issues as too many fake leads went through and our cancellation rate was too high. Now a days, it doesn't happen that often anymore since the entire acquisition flow has changed. The problem still exists, like on all other platforms but we've tackled most issues that caused too many fake leads. People tend to not read and just place an offer too often while thinking they're buying a product. It's pretty strange if you ask me.

Unlike most older secondary marketplaces we're continuously improving the platform rather than squeezing most out of existing clients. We dedicate 80% of our resources to product development.

Any other members here that have sold at Undeveloped? (.com/.eu/.nl domains)
We have just listed 5k names with them, we'll see how it goes. Sales pages are amongst the best I have seen.

Welcome on board!

Are you guys considering additional payout option like bitcoin? I remember epik(the parent company) has this option. It is faster to receive payment via bitcoin than wire transfer. No seller will want his payment delayed. I think you should consider this Or integrate with epik bitcoin payout option

We actually already accept Bitcoin and pay out sellers with Bitcoin when requested. It's not an official feature we promote but do offer.

We're looking forward to assist you with your first sale with us :)

When you have your first sale, simply ask for a BTC payout to your escrow agent in the transaction thread.

That's not good. I'm sorry you didn't have a better experience with us. If you're interested feel free to send me a message and I'll give your account a close look to see if we can find some elements which we can change to prevent that from happening again.

Sometimes we see specific domains that used to be developed to get a lot of fake leads when suddenly they get parked with us but it shouldn't happen portfolio wide.

Undeveloped should come and clear this out. We want to know all hidden charges and please what name did you sell @loredan and how much?

As I understand it, this is only for sellers that are VAT registered. If an EU-based seller that is VAT registered sells a domain to a consumer in another EU country, the VAT rate of the buyer's country will be added to the price.

But I am sure Undeveloped will clarify shortly :xf.smile:

Not sure I ever added VAT registration details to Undeveloped. The transaction was indeed between two EU citizens (me UK - buyer France), perhaps the buyer had his VAT details in his Undeveloped account, don't know... Anyway no biggie, just thought I'd post here for the clarity and transparency sake since @Undeveloped stated there are no additional fees apart from the 15% commission . Now I have no idea if citizens outside the EU might be charged this but since Undeveloped is part of Epik, the US citizens might get charged as well...just saying :)

Hi Loredan,

I don't see VAT as additional charges since it's not going to us but the tax agency. We only charge VAT on top of our commission if both the seller as Undeveloped have to by law. And that happens only in some specific cases for European sellers.

Our system is designed to charge the correct VAT based on the information you supply us and the information that we have from the buyer.

Here are some of the VAT rule logics:

1: If you're a non-business seller from EU we have to charge VAT
2: If you're a business seller from EU and supply a valid VAT number we don't charge VAT
3: If you're a non-business or business seller outside of EU you never pay VAT

Again, only if we by law have to collect VAT as in example #1 we do.

Thanks for helping me clarify this,

Reza

I am pretty happy with Undeveloped so far. IMO - The landing pages are some of the best out there...

Moved some domains over to them a month ago, and just got my first sale there last night. It went VERY smoothly. I got the sold email last night, transferred the domain, and was paid this morning.

That's very fast. Nice one

@Undeveloped - A request: On a sold domain's landing page - show the domains of the seller instead of market domains. Not a huge deal, but would be nice.

I realize last post here was a long time ago. I have looked through their site and I am considering setting up an account and trying a few of my domain names with them.

Before I do that I would be interested to see the experience that some others have had with their service, especially recently. I like a lot the visual look of their site.

If I understand it correctly, it seems they just take a flat 15%, with no cost if no sale is made. This seems pretty reasonable to me.

I did a few searches on some specialized words that are of interest to me, and it seems that they have in the areas I checked at least a good selection of domain names listed.

I would really welcome input from someone who has sold domains through them re how smoothly it all worked.

Thanks in advance.

Bob

Hi Bob,

I did sell a couple of domains through undeveloped and i have no complain.
Things i like:
First it's easy to add domains in your portfolio, to set up a buy now price or a starting offer price.
Secondly, they have a chat page for each domain that allows sellers and buyers to discuss about the price. It is also used by undeveloped to inform of the transaction process when the deal is done.
Lastly i also like the fact that the parking page of a domain is not full of adverts.
To improve:
The last time i used undeveloped for a transaction i found quite difficult to use their chat page with a mobile phone as i think it was not fully responsible but i may be fixed now.

Finally for the transaction and the domain transfer, everything went well.

Hi everyone,

I'm new here, and I really have enjoyed this convo. I have been searching for a good (GREAT) place to sell my domains, and I think I'm getting closer and closer to the end of my search as I read this thread.
I have all of my domains parked at NameSilo(the best registrar I have ever dealt with). I have a number of them for sale at Sedo, but not going anywhere. I don't have any complaints about Sedo. They respond very quickly at support.
I truly hope Undeveloped is as good (GREAT) as you all say it is. One particular thing that sets Undeveloped apart from the others,IMHO, is that Reza has answered every question here, plus. That says a lot about the person at the helm.
Wish me luck.

Hi again,

As I posted before, my domains are parked with NameSilo. My question is: am I better off to just try to sell my domains at Undeveloped, or park and sell at Undeveloped.
I am a newbie at domaining, so any input from you would be appreciated.

Hi Blumutt,

I don't think that undeveloped has a parking service. It is one of the points i like using undeveloped, there is no ads on the domains pages i sell with them.
It is just my point of view but i prefer that my domains appear on a nice selling page than on a parking page full of adverts. I may be wrong but it seems to me that it is more attracful for a buyer.

Hi Blumutt and Zeff,

I agree with the view expressed by zeff, although full disclosure I have never used monetized parking but I can't imagine these days you make much money from it (and others posting on Namepros seem to say same).

I think the most important (in this order) is that someone who enters your domain name:
(1) Arrives on a page that clearly indicates that the domain name is for sale (and either the BIN price, where to bid, or an indication of the price expected). It must include information or links so a potential buyer can take the next step.
(2) For certain domain names, that page should provide additional information that will enhance the understanding and valuation of the domain name in the eyes of the potential buyer.
(3) The landing page be attractive and look professional. While I think some Adsense or similar advertisements are tolerable, the page should clearly be primarily about the domain name.

I have not yet used Undeveloped, but I think I will set up an account with them and try some domain names for sale there and see how it works. It seems to me that their service covers nicely the three points I list, and also provides to the buyer the idea that a third party will be involved in the transaction.

Bob
